Here's hoping that BLU gets touched more than once in all of Dawntrail

what with going to the homeland and birthplace of blue magic, I sure hope it gets any level of recognition whatsoever.

Who am I kidding it's not even going to be mentioned, and we'll come to find out that that entire village that martyn and whastrach learned in has been blasted and scoured from the earth to spite us specifically or something.

Thankfully we can rest assured that any cultural artifacts will survive, as they'll be placed as rewards in content that BLU cannot participate in by name.

BLU? What's that? The only limited job in Dawntrail is BST

BLU has been replaced by PCT. Sorry.

As a dancer running through Thavnair and Radz-at-Han with nobody taking note of this... Yes, the game giving BLU players some extra lines would be lovely.

shuddering at the thought of ending up as neglected as MNK was in the stormblood expansion

At least Monk still had a Job quest relevant to that area. Dancers had a role quest leading them... to Yanxia. xD

Pixies didn't tilt about SCH fairies either. while not strictly the same, if someone came to me with a dwarf on their shoulder, I think I'd react a bit.

Also, more content should be affected by whatever minion you have with you.

But hey, small indie company ; please understand...

Shout out to the Shadowbringers trailer making it sound like playing a Dark Knight would actually get you a line or two... lol

True, although in a way many lines were a bit funnier or snarkier when you played as DRK. "Please don't tell others you might be the Warrior of Darkness" says the NPC to the DRK in his all black spiky job armor who kills enemies with the power of his dark soul... :D

But yeah, I get what you mean.

Last BLU update was a 2 year wait for 20 spells, 1 new Carnivale stage. being locked out of new Ultimates, no new BLU mount and locking a BLU weapon behind Criterion dungeons that BLU can't even participate in.

On the other hand I can clear a majority of content lvl75 and below on BLU with Basic Instinct so it all evens out.

BLU will get an update in patch 7.45

• level cap raised to 90
• new weapon from new Masked Carnivale stage(s)
• handful of new spells

Expect it in early 2026

It’s kind of sad but I’m guessing this is very, very close to reality.

woah woah hey--the weapon will be in a side-content that BLU are literally barred from by name, like criterion or eureka

Pictomancer, with weapon drawn in either battle stance, very closely mimics blue mage's stance with their cane.

As for blue mage and blue magic so far (hidden stuff is spoilers):

First instance:

Erenville talks about the whalaqee. Depending on your version, the context is either presented as a fact (in english) or just as rumors (in japanese). In english he states the whalaqee revere the blue flames made by ceruleum. In japanese its rumored the whalaqee view the ceruleum (aka blue phosphorous water) as sacred. Erenville has no comments about you being a blue mage or your prior experiences with the whalaqee.

Second instance:

For the fisher questline you meet a fledgling blue mage who only knows Flying Sardine. If you done blue mage content, you will have extra dialogue options about how you also did that kind of content. The book from 6.55 also has a dialogue option.

Third instance (indirect):

In a Shaaloani sidequest chain, you come across oozes made of ceruleum. A different tribe views the ceruleum as destructive as it can create some sort of creature, referred to as a blue devil, that caused widespread fires in the old days. There is no dialogue that references you as blue mage or that you know of the whalaqee.

No other references have I found from Dawntrail, at least as of 7.0.

There was also a quest with the mother of one of the mamool in uldah, but not much to do with blu I think
