The Lack of Tank Sustain / Mitigation Nerfs in Dawntail

Looking at the DT tool tips all day, the biggest concern I have going into the next expansion is the lack of nerfs to tank sustain and mitigation.

They have all gotten buffed in DT, with even DPS job’s having their own moderately strong sustain abilities as well.

This is… concerning to say the least. Healers maybe required to heal even LESS now in DT.

I’ll be honest, this is killing a lot of my excitement for the game. More one button mashing and less healing? Seriously? I like what I see in WHM and SGE, but my GOD! I pray the encounter design rework will be good enough, but I don’t have a lot of hope.

Yeah it'll feel exactly like endwalker or worse, they would never make dungeons hit extremely hard to the point of annihilating the tanks where both tanks/healers have to actually press their mits to get through, otherwise the casuals and creatures of the night will never get past it for their MSQ.

Healers in casual content are basically not needed anymore, tanks who know what they're doing with good DPS players do not need to be healed, and any 8-man content can already be solo healed given the low damage output (if any). I didn't mind playing AST in dungeons however, because the cards and route of optimization was engaging enough to ease the boredom of malefic mashing. With that gone, I won't be touching healers in casual outside of levelling them and maybe if I want an instant queue over a 10-15min DPS queue.

At this point I want them to just bring back crit autos. If they really want us to have a billion single target heals that are supposed to be used 'reactively', give us something to react to. I don't just want lethal af tankbusters, I want constant, extremely damaging autos. Bring me back to refurbisher. None of this 'long cast with no autos into mechanic with no autos into downtime with 3 autos' shit. Just give tanks a permanent bleed the moment they load into the instance, and maybe I'll think AST cards are useful.

So are they giving us a way to queue for Expert and level 100 Roulettes with one tank and 3 dps now? Since healers are literally not required at all.

Better question. Are they allowing healers to start at 100 for 8.0 on DT's release? It seems as if they don't want us to play/enjoy the game.

And my concerns are validated. No Healer needed on the DT Media Tour Dungeon.

Wow, they really know how to hype up healer mains in the final push before launch! I'm so excited to do very little again, and feel more like a burden in duties than a support!

It's not any better for tank players.
The only group of tank players that are generally happy with the changes are Warrior mains, because isntead of nerfing the comically overpowered job they just buff everything even further.
They just removed a bunch of shit, added the bare minimum and made us all unkillable. But now we're expected to play this garbage.
I'm quiting tank tbh, i just give up. Loud Warrior mains have won, they can have their power fantasy. Tanking is looking strictly less enjoyable in DT than it was in EW, and EW already left a lot to be desired.
Absolutely no gameplay integrity whatsoever.

I'm actually curious if it's the message SE is trying to send with media tour videos portraying 3 DPS 1 Tank running a dungeon not only being a possibility (it has always been), but also a no brainer and an actual gain? What's your angle there SE?

This isn't even the warrior power fantasy, it's just the streamer "I want a job that plays itself so I can read chat" fantasy.
HP drain is no fun if it is agnostic to damage dealt. HP drain is less fun if it isn't a choice between healing up or mitigating.
We've already seen the system menu on certain streamer's streams. They could provide streamers with the games journalist accessories from ff16 rather than nuke the game for everyone else.

At least in shb, where Nascent Flash was already working like that, it was tied to damage done and not automated potencies per enemy hit (+cdhit increases), which meant it involved skill play somewhat to actually use the correct bursts of damage to self heal more, but on top of it the big burst buttons weren't on that short of a cooldown so for the rest of the time you were just left with more humble self healing. Not saying it wasn't already kinda overpowered, but at least it wasn't totally broken.

Besides the OP sustain on tanks. WAR in particular (and PLD to a less degree) can fully take over team healing in dungeons for a decent team, without losing any dps.
