Is Sage actually getting a second DoT to manage before Scholar?

Scholar, the Job originally with 6 total DoTs to manage, is now getting a 15 second DoT on a 2 minute cooldown. It's available after using Chain, so if it wasn't blatantly obvious enough, you are supposed to use it during your burst window. The Scholar community has been begging for Miasma back or some additional DoT to manage with how painfully boring their rotation is, even by comparison to the other healers. Scholar does not work up to a blood lily, or have a minigame with cards, or get to nuke with laser balls. You just Broil. Everything is just Broil.

Sage is getting an additional DoT GCD in their rotation free of charge, and an additional 600 potency burst option on 60 seconds. Every other healer has some new flashy burst option that is locked behind 2 minutes, but this is fine. I'm fine.

Please reconsider adding an additional DoT to scholar's rotation...

SCH is being given to the Aerith mains so they can play a shield healer that has a WHM aesthetic. If you want to be a sweaty try hard and press more than 2 buttons 90% of fights, go play SGE.

It's depressing. And I've seen Sage mains complain about having to keep up another dot in melee... give it back to us, then...

I disagree with you that Scholar has a more boring rotation than the other healers. The tradeoffs with Energy Drain already provide for more impactful and skill-based decision making than any of the other healers.

But yes I would absolutely love another DoT skill. Please!

And yet it’s another 30 second DOT, so rather than having two alternating durations to juggle, you just reapply both at the same time every time, which is a major drag.

Personally if I decide to put up with Sage, I would intentionally delay the cast of E. Dyskrasia by 15 seconds. That will make DOT application feel more active.

Buff window optimization can suck a dock for all I care. I’ve had enough of this 2 minute feces-fest.

This is a farce at this point in my opinion. Energy Drain as a form of skill expression has been the only strand of complexity the job retains, and it's only for a brief period when mapping out an encounter. Once you've mapped your cooldown usage, it's very plain and clear to see where EDs fall into that space. As you progress and gear, you can likely start to drop healing cooldowns in place of EDs, but I don't find this particularly engaging. Recitation is now on a 60 second CD, so you have even more ED budget and less thinking.

I would personally like to see Baneful Impaction on 60 seconds and an additional DoT thrown into Scholar's rotation.

I really thought they might lower Chain Strat to 60 seconds but nope. We get a lame 2 minute skill again. I hate this. Why does Sage get a dps rotation when that was literally what Scholar was known for.

SCH lost its identity years ago [ShB] so they could 'create' a 'new' DPS-focused healer in SGE... Loads of Sage's spells and abilities are already taken/copied directly from Scholar, so why not give them what was removed from us, eh?????
Yes I'm miserable.

I'm officially convinced SE hates SCH because they still have PTSD from when SCH was the superior healer. Of course it's still the best healer on paper, but now it's balanced out by the fact it has the most godawful, clunkiest gameplay loop of all time. I hope selling Sage as the DPS healer was worth euthanizing Miasma, Bane, Shadowflare and Aero 3. At least WHM got budget Requiescat.

Sage has officially become the "more dps buttons" healer. Low-key wanted this to be the case for 1 regen and 1 shield healer but at least we got one.

If anything I hope they keep dumping old SCH buttons into SGE. Sad that SCH's gameplay identity got gutted just to make room for the new job but at least it's something. With the way changes have been made for SCH (ED removal, pet jank, whatever Seraphism is) I genuinely don't think the team knows what to do with SCH, both in visuals and gameplay. Case in point, energy drain. You just know the devs are only keeping ED because they're afraid of the backlash. It's a defining button for SCH but it still has the same VFX from ARR. The absolute lack of commitment and effort with any changes to this job is impressive.

Ruin 2 and Energy are both visually relics from ARR and it's crazy they refuse to repaint them all while giving them traits that change the damage output one expansion after another. Making Energy Drain upgrade into Bane would be a no brainer but clearly no brain is being applied to Scholar design.

It's already one more thing to manage that I didn't expect so I'll gladly take it.

I really really hope SE doesn't nerf its potency, keep it a gain on 1
