Goblin server dcing

Got dc'd off Goblin server multiple time in just the last 15 minutes. Something definitely going on.

Same here (Three different data centers I've logged into). I think it's all datacenters... getting bumped off every one of them I'm trying after barely doing anything. Likely DDOS attack.

Yeah it's even happening here on Dynamis too, upon logging in I get into a queue of 277 so it must be everyone getting hit. I just gave up for now, because I can only stay online for a few minutes before it kicks me out again.

Someone in the Coeurl NN said that EU players are also reporting a problem (though they weren't specific about whether they meant living in EU playing on NA, or playing on an EU world).

Definitely is affecting all the NA worlds though.

Tried again, and it actually dc'd me while trying to log out after I had gotten in.

If it is a DOS, they chose a great time as everything is going down for maintenance tonight anyways.

Except that DC isn't letting people hop over there, at least on my end. It gives me a weird error message that says I don't have a free character space to do so (I only have 2 characters), and some other people have gotten the same message.

(that last one was to the person who said to DC hop to materia, I'm on mobile ATM and can't edit)

Same on Exodus. I got Dc'd 3 times this morning. Looking at this tracker it seems all NA servers are having ping and packet issues. The green online dot changes to brown and when you hover over it says ping and packet loss issues. Oceanian had the same issue as well. https://is.xivup.com/

I keep disconnecting on Malboro every minute or two, kicking me with all types of errors like 2002, 90006 or 90002.

Zalera as well.

Same issue here on Primal(Lamia) d/c 3 times in about 10 min and joined a dungeon where 1 person was d/c

Okay my previous issue got solved... Somehow. I can get onto Materia at least? Lol

Mateus reporting in, also having issues on Crystal. DC'ed at least 6 times today.

You have to start the character creation process so that it registers your account on the datacenter. Basically, select new character and choose the datacenter and world from the list. Once done, you don't need to actually create a character, but it will register your 'slots' to you. Then go back out and choose your datacenter and from the character select screen you can do the datacenter travel.

yeah, I tried multiple times in Midgardsormr to no avail...Might be able to stay in game for like 5-6 minutes then get kicked out!!! Well, maintenance sometime today, hopefully fixed by reset day tomorrow.

Um... kinda doubt that? I would think extortionists would go after far richer targets who are FAR more likely to pay quickly, than a game company. The only people being adversely affected are the subscribers, not the game company itself.

Having said that, I'm certain that SE is trying to stop the DDOS attack. I just meant, they aren't going to pay hackers to help them stop it. Why in the world would they...

So DDoS, which costs resources, just can't be used for financial gain here because of some nebulous "richer target"? Isn't FF14 the game that saved Square and is still their main cash cow?

I agree Square is more likely to beef up cybersecurity rather than pay out extortion.

I read they can use DDOS attacks to get private information from players like payment information. They really need to buff up their security.
