It would be good if the launcher had an option to remember my password

It's just tiresome to have to enter my password every time. This is especially true because I play through Steam, and the launcher and SE account are linked to my Steam account and login anyway. Please consider adding this as an option to the launcher. Thank you.

I wouldn't mind this but I get why they don't.

But it really should be an option of you are using the one time code.

They already have this for the Playstation version of the game so it's odd it's not like that on PC.

yea it would be really nice if there was just a quicker alternative to it. Something kinda like a quick launcher.

People don't complain about it anymore, because they are using third party launcher as far as I know of.

people dont complain cause they literly stay logged in and never logging out which is why some servers are hard locked due to this. lol

I can give two reasons as to why it isn't on the pc's launcher:

1. Probably because like Apple devices consoles could be safer from virus threats and would less likely take a saved password from a Credential Manager.

2. It would have made sense for a desktop user if their desktop device stays home unless you took it to some kind of game night. But would someone like a student or worker in an office or classroom environment expect to do Windows + L or put their laptop to sleep mode whenever they leave their desk?

Third party launcher is better in general. Even if you don't want to use plugins (you can launch it without having them turned on), it's worth a look into. It remembers your password, has Steam integration and has faster load in times.

Ironically, using GW2 official launcher that remembers my password.....it made me actually forget my account's password from 7 years ago ahahaha
I guess the merit of having to re-enter your password is that you probably won't forget it, though I know I stared at it before and was like 'what was it again?'

It's really inconvenient though..

Auto logout isn't a thing right now. The devs only turn it on for expansion launches.

As the person above said, this isn't true. They don't have an auto-kick enabled outside of major expansion launches and it gets turned off within a month or two I believe. Your statement would be accurate then since it's common for people to use them when the kick is actually on but right now, you yourself could stay logged in as long as you want without the use of mods (I literally leave my PC on all night on occasion and forget to log off and come back still sitting in my house the next day unless my internet crashes).

This is also debatable for servers outside of Balmung. Most don't seem to have a problem rotating regularly through congestions states while Balmung has been locked for 6m+. I'm unsure if this is just because of people staying logged in or just because people tend to flood transfers for Balmung whenever they do open since its reputation.

I know. But is doesn't really change it imo. Just a question of time until it will get turned on again and then not running mods makes you waste time. I don't like the development. Either SE has to be more open about mods and whitelist them or something or they should crack down on some stuff. One day it will get too big to ignore.

Im using the security token, its tiresome to type password and user and then that, at least, just let us use the token, thats enough...

They've already said they aren't going to sort through individual plugins to say what is okay and what isn't. It would be a mammoth of a task considering how many new ones are made each month and how many already exist. So, they're taking the blind eye approach while wishing that people wouldn't use them. That's all they can do without anti-cheat but that's not a solution either considering what they'd lose in terms of subscriber count for adding in something invasive.

Ehh, you can debate about this forever. There are other popular games with anti-cheat and it is not a problem. But for FF14 it is? Not really, the issue is more on the coding side by them, old engine and they don't wanna put even more stress on it or the users with world war 2 pc's.

I think they should do a WoW kind of "mod support". One thing for example is that mods are free and not paid versions. And not cheating mods/glitching/nsfw potentially. If SE can endorse a platform to have some ethical standards regarding that, maybe it wouldn't be so wrong. It doesn't need to be done by SE employees, but if they violate the SE guidelines they shouldn't receive support or advertisement or whatever else you can imagine. But JP might be too traditional for that, mods seem to be a US/EU need mostly?! Besides graphic injector.

Auto-kick is only turned on at the beginning of an expansion. You don't need any third party tool to simply stay logged in 24/7.

They're never going to crack down on them because they've already become too big. The amount of money SE would lose due to people quitting just isn't worth it. Riding the fence like they have allows them to benefit from third party without actually supporting it. That won't ever change at this point.
