Charged Jump

This is an idea for the Jump skill.

Dragoons get an extra ability which has a cast time. When successfully casted, you get a buff that changes your next Jump/Dragonfire Dive. When Jump/Dragonfire Dive is used with the buff, you hang in the air for a longer period of time. While in the air you cannot use anything and you are invincible

The buff is stackable up to X(undecided) times, all stacks removed on using Jump. Invincible time is increased on each charge. At max charges, Jump/Dfire has increased damage and AoE range.
Cooldown of (normal) Jump is greatly increased if the buff was at max charges.
(The aim is to decrease single target damage over time and increase survivability / AoE when charged. The extra damage on a single target should not be greater than if you spammed Jump, to prevent this skill from being spammed.)

Main use is for dodging AoEs. You can ignore this skill if you want Jump to do more damage over time.

Some possible variations to idea:

-Jump does not return you to your original position when charged (Like DFire, but as an opening attack)

-Increased critical rate/critical damage instead of increased damage

-Consume TP to convert normal jump to AoE

-Shroud of Saints effect (Enmity reduced for a short time but is restored later)

In all seriousness, DRG doesn't really need this. It has better stuff.

I think it still needs something else to add to its complexity. They took out PowerSurge maintenance (which was a good thing), but I find myself less active on the action bar now.

Really? I find myself super busy with my set up. But then again there isn't much on my bar that I don't use on cooldown. lol

Updated ideas.

Trying to make it a skill that should not be spammed.

IMO still not liking it. DRG is fine and I wouldn't want to have a good skill removed to fit it in.

quite interesting. I wouldn't mind a mechanic like this.

Personally, I liked XI's DRG setup with the jumps ontop of jump enhancements. For example you go Jump > High Jump > Super Jump > Spirit/Soul Jump. The latter is enhanced by having your Wyvern present which always forced it to give a TP bonus. The Mythic for DRG forces criticals constantly which not only returns more TP but does quite a bit of damage per jump.

GB's enhanced Jump works somewhat like XI's, so since we can upgrade it maybe it'll gain more parameters for enhancing jump. Never know what SE has planned fully.

Personally I would give up Elusive Jump for this.

But hey there's always someone who doesn't like your idea and I'm fine with that.

Yeah, let's remove something that increases your potential damage and add something arguably a very few people would use. If there was a skill that left me in the air longer so that it kept me from building TP for more weapon skills, I'd never use it.
I respect your idea, but I just can't agree with it.

its obviously situational. I agree though I wouldn't give up elusive for it, but you can have my dread spike for it ><

Actually you are totally right.. But then again I'd give that ability up for a skill that kills yourself. :|

dread spike is so useless that I forgot it existed.
Dread spike is a skill that was meant to increase survivability , so you could definitely trade this in for it.

The specifics of the skill can be changed, like adding an enmity down to account for the loss of Elusive (and trading Elusive for it was only an example and a personal opinion)

If you wanted TP, you could add a TP increase on Jump much like Full Thrust but increasing DPS was not the goal for this skill.
