Graphical update (DT) - Male Au Ra (Cry laughing please god help me)

I was really nervous looking into the benchmark. Sweet jesus, ya boy was yassified XD I have almost 16k hours in this game and I genuinely do not want to have to make a whole new character, I have never changed him (excluding height, that has been the only thing I have changed.)

I spent about an hour and a half trying to make changes to match my original character and boy, I couldn't find a result I actually liked.

>Why is the eyebrow shape different and color lighter? They look like he went to a beauty salon and they attacked his eyebrows. It feels unnatural.
>Why is the makeup on his eyes now smudged? His Eye Shape feels so different now and he lacks life in his eyes, what HAPPENED. Ya boy is wearing 5 day old makeup and has no intentions of washing it off, clearly. I joke about having a thousand yard stare in game but I didn't want it like this LMAO.
>How did the least angry Au Ra face somehow look angry now? HELLO? He's gonna judge your fit in every dungeon. He looks so angry in the benchmark cutscenes.
>Nose is unknown, I copied my character settings and I genuinely cannot tell if the nose just didn't save or if the nose was changed. Flipped through all of them, I still hate it. Willing to bet incorrect nose + lighting but that doesn't excuse the other issues.
>I am saddened that the dark shading from the horn tips are lessened. I enjoyed the dark Ombre to the lighter tones, and it feels lessened on the benchmark graphics.
>Why do the scales look higher resolution but... flatter? Like the dark shading helped give them depth but now they are too light. I liked the detailing of them but I wish there was more shading. The dark/light color balance for him is off now.

Every cutscene, my character's lips just looked uncanny and blown out, lip injection gone wrong. He's about to sell you some cheap knockoff lipstick from the sussy store at the mall. I changed his lips to thinner lips and now his face looks too long LMAO.

I just... what HAPPENED.
I know it's just Beta and there might be time to make changes but PLEASE GOD HELP ME HAHAHAAAA. DT is about to hand me a Dollar Tree version of my character xD

I completely agree with this comment, especially about scales, horns, and irises.
The iris is so dark that you can't really see the original eye color (even when it's white).

The scales are detailed, but flattened and thinned out, losing their strong feel.
The horns, like the scales, have turned into a bland design that looks like every bump has been sanded off. Can we never get back the bumpy, cool horns of the past? The reflections have also diminished, and from a distance, the problem looks even worse.

All in all, the horns and scales look more like plastic resin figures than horns and scales, and I wish they'd take a cue from images of real horns and give them a little more bumpiness.

I don't know what Salon you went to get them horn details but please recommend it to my boy because I have been ROBBED lmaooooo. They do look plastic like but I love the black horns way more than the light ones right now. Ugh.

I haven't changed this customization in years, but if it's updated as it is, I won't want to play this race...
Why did they have to make the scales thinner? As you said, the problem seems to be more pronounced on light color scales.. :(

This is just not remotely okay. The character in the benchmark is not my character. He looks like Zenos turned into an Au Ra. The eyes are wrong, the mouth is angry, and it still looks wrong in the benchmark video.

I think the angle of the eyes looks changed as well, unless that's due to the exact camera angle.

Adding on to my previous remarks, from this thread's OP the comparison pics are more definitely on the same angle and the eyes really are a different shape. Possibly the eyebrows as well. More slant following the slanted eyes = more angry-looking.

Sweet lord its like not even the same character at that point. I am noticing a lot of inconsistent design flaws right now, what HAPPENED LMAO I HATE THIS MORE AND MORE LOL

I know right? I set him up in the benchmark and it's just "my poor character, what have they done to you?"

I want my sweet non-edgy Au Ra and I picked that face for a reason which is now being entirely ruined.

Oh my god I'm so glad (and sad) that I'm not the only one going through the Horrors of what they did to face 3 Au Ra D: big agree on the eye shapes feeling different, and especially disappointed that they made the "softer" eyebrows more angled... I don't want to be edgy I just want to be soft :(

;m; I am sorry we were dragged to a botched beauty salon without our permission, may the devs be merciful and piss off with these sad updates. At least give us the option to have the original designs over whatever sad excuse these ones are.
