Why are they endangered?

I never noticed this until last night when I got Akadaemia Anyder in a roulette but every monster in there is an endangered something. Outside of the mandragora and the evil armor. At first I wondered why as we all have seen at least one of the various creatures we fight in there. Then it hit me. We're exploring that when the original Final Days had already started. As the time frame is when the Archaeotania escaped from being studied there. The Archaeotania being a terminus beast. Though I'm not certain how many of us back then put two and two together. Now do you think those creatures were already somehow endangered prior to the Final Days or were they becoming endangered due to it?

They're not endangered, they are engendered.

Oh dang. Well I guess my question now is why are they labeled that then? And if it would still be tied to the final days or not.

'Engendered' is a fancy synonym for 'creation'. They were created, with creation magic.

Yes, but why not any of the Mandragora then? We don't see some of the ones we see again being labeled as such in the other anyder. Akadaemia was where things that were there were being studied post release into the wild. That and since we know that the time period we explore the dungeon is when the Final Days were happening in other parts of Etheirys as the Archaeotania had just broken loose. So, were they just happen to be there and being studied for purposes not related to the Archaeotania? Or did those who captured the Archaeotania also capture some of the local wildlife to see if it had affected any of the local fauna and flora?

Was that stated somewhere?

Everything I can see points to it being the place where creatures were first created before being sent to Elpis for testing.

So I looked and it isn't stated that's the case. Yet from my findings they didn't ever state that the creations there were up for review like they were in Elpis. Just that they were made there for studying. I still haven't re-ran the dungeon so I'm not sure if I just wrongly assumed that my claim was the case or if I saw it in a speech bubble from a side npc or one of the notes. Course just thinking about it Akadaemia and Anammesis probably weren't gone through or really thought about when they created Elpis.

Oh I'm sure they weren't cause the Io alone that spawn from the concept crystals in Anammesis would have looked like their updated looks. That and as I said the Mandragoras aren't labeled as Endgendered even though the regular one shows up in a quest chain in Elpis. Yay for small inconsistencies. Unless headcannons are OK in this instance and we want to say the bureaucratic society dropped the ball at some step in their labeling process.

The Mandragoras turn up in the greenhouse section, so I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they and other creatures in that section weren't created, but were a successfully maintained ecosystem. If we approach Akadaemia as similar to a zoo or botanic garden, then it makes sense they'd have some breeding programs but aren't entirely sufficient on them, and so they've also got a handful of stuff that was created.

Yes, this does presume that the first boss is essentially a Seaworld show that's gone out of control. One of those sharkmen is the Ancient world's Shamu.

Well, we do know Ancients tended to go overboard with the shark concepts...
