Pre-Order: Azeyma's Earrings; a pair or single earring?

I know it's silly to ask, I'm the type who needs 100% certainty- while yes it says 'Earrings' which typically means a pair; the picture shows only 1 - are Azeyma's Earrings in the pre-order bonus a pair? (earrings visible in both ears) or is it a single earring? (appearing in 1 ear)?

I ask this because most of the single earrings we have gotten are often covered by several hairstyles. Also, just wanting to make sure it's not a mistranslation.

Menphina's Earring was singular, and was a singular earring. Azeyma's Earrings being plural leads me to believe they might be two earrings.

I'm hoping that the "Earrings" was not a typo and that it will be a pair this time instead of the single that it's been the past 2 expansions. We'll have to wait until people are getting their bonus items to know for certain.

At least it has something on the other side! lol it’s so annoying to have one ear totally bare. Especially when you’re playing a race with big ears…

We need some paired stud earrings, too. I don't know why the game is so resistant to filling out some simple jewellery types with our regular crafted glamours.

Also, level 1 silver earrings so I'm not stuck with gold all the way to level 90 now. Please.

I don't mind if my characters have a hairstyle that would prevent an earring from being seen on the missing side.

But otherwise I'm with you. A single earring is very annoying to me.

I honestly rarely notice earrings. I started as an Au Ra, so they were behind/under the horns and rarely visible; as a Viera, they take up so little ear real estate that I don't notice them most of the time. I got so used to forgetting them that when I went Miqo'te for a while, they annoyed me enough to just stick the Manderville Earrings on most of my glam plates and forget about it entirely.

It also doesn't help when the single earring is almost always on the side where most hairstyles hide it :(

I was hoping they'd be big like the HW pre-order earrings

and i believe it's a pair of them, but as someone said earlier it may be asymmetrical
and if thats the case, they need the larger one on the right ear since most hairs cover the left ear of non viera/aura

Can confirm, just got my earrings (close up)with the pre-order this morning and there is a small stud with a circular (bluish-green color) gem in the middle of it.

it's a stud on right ear, and a dangle on left. the left side which most hairstyles cover.

I note the difference in the descriptions between:

• the old Ala Mhigan Earring: wearable by all classes, 30% XP boost "when level 50 and below" and
• Azeyma's Earring: wearable by Disciples of War or Magic, 30% XP boost "when level 90 and below"

Seems like there's still some utility for my old Ala Mhigan Earrings, on the accounts that have them. :)

That was changed long ago. Ala Mhigan earrings were the last to have the all-class classification.

I got the earrings and I'm a bit disappointed to find that they are one of the many earring types that have a physics issue on at least male Miqo'te – they don't properly respond to gravity and are left sticking out at a slight angle when in the default resting position.

It's not a universal issue and some other types hang straight. I've been meaning to report it as a bug but I don't know if I need to provide a comprehensive list of every item with the broken physics before they'll fix each individual one.

sadly its the left ear thats the big one and the right ear is a super tiny stud type earring that dangles a little (too me the stud type is super small)

I'm not in the game currently to check, but I was playing around with different earrings the other night, when I was saying about them sitting oddly on male Miqo'te, and I get the impression that some earrings are fully affected by gravity while others "cheat" and have an instruction to swing when the character moves and then come to a dead stop at an angle that may or may not be straight down. (Or possibly is straight down in a basic T-pose but that doesn't account for posture. I need to test some other races.)

From the testing I did, the ones that seem gravity-responsive will sway slightly as the character moves while standing still and breathing in and out, while the cheating ones just stick out at a rigid angle.

You're right! I went and was running around with the azeyma earrings last night in one of the inn rooms and the earring did move, so I'm assuming it's my own framerates that are likely the issue

Some of the longer earrings seem to be the odd ones that only move when our character moves- I saw a player with the heavensward pre-order earrings and as they were looking at the marketboard (head was tilted up) the earrings stayed in position with the characters head angle, so it looked odd.
