That easy! Buy book!
honestly MSQ if you're starting from ARR you will be level 55-60 by the time hit HW, once you m ake it to Stormblood you will be hitting about 75ish and probably be capped before Shadowbringers if you only level warrior other than that its roulettes and it can be even faster if you roll on a preferred / new world because of the road to 80 buff just realize once you hit 80 the buff goes away though. make sure to eat food and get in an fc for the xp buff as well.
only other way is probably buying the level skip books
Outside of dailies I would run the highest level dungeon you can since as a tank your queue should be relatively fast compared to others.
There are also beast tribe quests which can provide a decent chunk of experience.
Be sure to eat food for the exp buff and have either the FC buff active or use one of the scrolls from squadrons.
No Mao! That's the way to the dark side!

As others have said:
1. Roulettes
2. Beast Tribes
3. Spam highest level dungeon
4. Repeat
BT's in particular are great for jobs you don't want anything to do with in dungeon/battle content, so I'd recommend using those to level a 2nd job on the side that you hate and use your roulettes/dungeon spam for something you care about.
If you get tired of the grind, book skips are available for purchase in Mogstation.
Grab a max level friend, go to the highest level area you can, and farm mobs. Not so much for your 1st job as locations are limited, but works wonders for everything after.
Transfer your character to a world in Dynamis (for free, since it's a new world) and take advantage of the "Road to 80" for 90 days.
"Road to 80" doubles all experience for classes under 80, including doubling other bonuses like Armoury Bonus and Rested Bonus.
You'll level outrageously fast.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned is hunt logs, which are a great way to get you high enough level to dungeon spam (so basically levels 1 - 15). After you get to level 15, just make sure to go to the Smith (there's one in each of the three starter cities) and do their exercises for some good gear and an exp bonus ring (if you don't have it already). Then do your daily leveling roulette, and after that just queue for the highest level dungeon you can. Dungeon spam is the best way to level for a tank or healer. DPS are better off using Palace of the Dead floors 51-60 spam because of the dungeon queue times for them.
1-60:
Huntlogs
Palace of the Dead
Frontlines Daily (starts at 30)
Leveling/Alliance/MSQ Daily
Wondrous Tales (Weekly)
60-70
Heaven on High
Frontlines Daily
Leveling/Alliance/MSQ
Wondrous Tales (Weekly)
70-90
Pixies Beast Tribe
Frontlines
Zadnor Z3 Farming
Leveling/Alliance/MSQ
Wondrous Tales (Weekly)
80-90
Zadnor Z3 Farming
Arkasodara Beast Tribe
Pixie Beast Tribe still
Frontlines
Leveling/Alliance/MSQ
Wondrous Tales (Weekly)
Eureka Orthos isn't real.
1 - 60 You should be fine with just roulettes and the highest level dungeon available.
60 - 70 Is the worst. Save challenge log/Wonderous Tails if possible. If you have friends to set up a Heaven on High rush party, that's fine too. Otherwise I don't recommend Heaven on High
70 - 80 Bozja+Pixie Tribe Quest. Really fast.
80 - 90 Arkasodara Tribe Quests.
Remember: You get more XP for running Leveling dungeons than cap dungeons. Try to not run 50/60/70/80 dungeons unless it's part of the roulette, and even then I think the XP for that roulette isn't worth the time effort.
Also, Frontline Daily roulette gives crazy XP.
That is not actually correct for 2 reasons:
1) NA servers no longer have preferred realms. This will change in the future but as of today, no North American server will give boosted xp. But people can choose to play on a different continent server, if they don't mind some lag.
2) Most of the quests between the end of ARR & Heavensward were removed. Now, you are lucky to be level 51 when you start HW in a non-preferred server with quests removed.
Main Scenario Roulette, Levelling and PVP roulette are the only ones worth it experience wise. As a Tank I'd skip Main Scenario and just do the highest dungeon possible. Don't waste your time with Alliance, Trials or Raid roulette unless you just want a change of pace.
Make sure you do your hunting log sub 50. The XP is a flat amount that doesn't scale well into HW.
Completely wrong. All the characters I have created on Halicarnasus, Maduin, and Marilith are getting the Road to 80, as would any I created on Seraph if I'd done so. And all the characters I transferred (for free, on my other account) to Halicarnasus, Maduin, and Marilith got Road to 80 for 90 days.
This is not true at all. You're already 51+ by the time you hit Praetorium. Removing the quests did nothing since X.1~55 MSQ always gave 10k exp regardless of what level your job is. Most the experience you're getting post 2.0 comes from the duties you end up doing.
And if you grow the habit of doing leveling roulette every day, with only one job you're going to be at least 54 by the start of heavensward. In a non boosted server you can easily alternate between 2 jobs without falling behind the MSQ requirements.
