Please add Hilda's hairstyle for all!

Show your support for one of the best ponytails the game has (imo), that we currently do not have access to!

She has a nice hairstyle that I think would look great on a lot of characters.
I think it's been requested countless times already, so I hope SE eventually takes notice.

As a sidenote, I think it would be really cool if they added hybrid races as an option in the character creator, so you could be just like Hilda.

Yeah isn't she just a hyur model, but with elezen ears? I think the devs did make comments about this, but can't remember what that was. "something something limitations with the engine"

As for the Hair, yes, I support this as it should have been added a long time ago.

I am here as always to support this. Years are passing by and still nothing not even a mention of it.

I would love Hilda's hair and to be a half Elezen is something I wish they had given us.

The vast majority of "unique" character models are recycling base models from something else, like most Garleans are either Hyur or Elezen models if you look up the NPC in the database.

I'm surprised they haven't released it at this point, yet Durante's hairstyle came out almost immediately with next to no demand for it that I can recall. I don't even think there was enough of a gap for a demand to be created.

Again, I don't recall the instant demand. Especially considering it was released in the subsequent patch after Durante's reveal. Hilda OTOH has been on demand en masse for YEARS. Forgive me that I don't place FFXIV gossip at the highest of my priorities.

It has nothing to do with just recycling base models. She is half hyur, half elezen. Basically a half-elf. It is stated in game that she was born to a hyurian woman and her father was a high ranking elezen who refuses to claim her as his own.

She was created during a time SE was dabbling with introduing mixed race npcs. The engine limitation was about not letting players play mixed race characters because it would be too difficult and come with too many restrictions, esp with lala and roe. Like there was no way to make a half lala, half roe and even a half lala, half elezen would be problematic due to the engine, the armor models and such. They would basically have had to make options for all possible combinations which would have been a massive undertaking. Then you also have certain implications that came with a race that looks like a child mixing with very adult looking races it and how that would be interprited to a non-player audience.

They have mostly just abandoned the concept.

funny things is that her hairstyle looks alot like emina hairstyle from type-0 (and we didn't get rem and machina hairstyles too btw)

Yes, please! While we're at it, let Hyur have pointed ears so people can have half-Elezen characters. It can't be that difficult to do.

Actually, the outfit of Hilda is already in the game. It's called Hussar's Jackcoat and is equipable only by DRG/RPR (You have Archeoskin variant, but not quite the same color, It's also equiapable by any classes with a level equal or superior to 51.)

Lore-wise, she is half Hyur, half Elezen.

Model-wise, she is a Midlander with custom ears.

They didn't build a special model for her. As I said in my previous post, they haven't even built special models for the Garlean race who are used far more frequently than a one-off mixed-race character.

Doesn't that make sense tho? I mean a half hyur, half elezen would naturally present the same. You see this often in games like D&D as well. Why should they go through all the work to created completely custom models for half-races, when the characters would express certain traits that would definately be reflective of the races they are mixed with. And to be fair, her ears were custom when they could have easily just stuck elezen ears on a hyur frame, so it's not like they just slapped her model together. Either you are way overthinking how the genetics would work in every single instance, or you are expecting way too much for a one off character, that was just SE experimenting to begin with.

As for the Garleans, i agree they could have done more. But what was more egregious was the lack of custom models for the pre-sundered ascians since, unlike Garleans, they were more than just tall hyur. But they just slapped hyur ears on elezen for them and called it a day. They literally did more for both the garleans and Hilda than they did for one of the most crucial non playable race in the game.

I don't know why you think you are arguing it.

She is not a special half-Hyur-half-Elezen model at a programming level.

Just back to add my support for this. I went up to see Hilda in game last night and was admiring her beautiful long ponytail and her little cute ears! What a waste of chance, they should have added a half race years ago.

I would never use mods I play PS5 and even when on pc I would not as I love my account too much and it is not worth the risk.

I have seen pics of Hilda's hair mod and it looks amazing so why can't the game add it for those that do not use them? It really does have me baffled on why they have not given this character any love. I am sick of the twins outfits and hair.

The Halloween event a couple years ago proved both Hilda and Nanamo’s hairstyles would be functional in game

They don’t even need to make it a full-on separate race! Just add her ears to the Midlander face options along with the beauty mark, eye makeup, etc. She’s essentially just a Midlander with elf ears, and I’d love to play that!

I just realized tonight after getting machinist to 90 that I was missing a skill because I stopped the job quests at 70. I was blindsided by Hilda, who I had forgotten about but absolutely loved back in HW and now need to look at her throughout the quest, questioning why I can’t use her hair or be a half-elezen.

PLEASE SE, let me have one, or the other, *or both*! I am dying over here!

I'd love to get her hair...and hoenstly her ear as a player customization option for Hyur. The ears are kinda subtle, I doubt they'd clip hard since they're not full blown elezen ears? I mean we already have awful clipping with long skirts on Miqo (whenever I run and look at my char at the front my legs just clip through it). I think the clipping would be very minor imo...

I think I might even give Hyur a go if such customization was added.

There's been a graphical mod for the hairstyle since 2018. CBA3 are just lazy and don't want to make "Midlander Hairstyle 203" publically available in some form. (The best time to have done it would have been to make it a hairstyle available as a result of the Ishgardian Restoration/Skybuilders' Scrip, but alas.)

Related to hairstyles...
25-50, 56-60, 62-100, and 180-199 are all slots that are currently unused by all races, then 200+ are NPC-exclusive hairstyles or NPCs' versions of hairstyles that we end up later getting through the mogstation.

Hilda doesn't have a unique outfit that they can milk on the mogstation, so probably not even a priority...and she's not a very important character like -cough- scions.

She does, at the level of Ysayle's unique costume, which everyone complained bitterly about.

Personally I'd be happy if they want to stick as many NPCs as possible up for sale – and their weapons too. Still waiting for unique bits like Y'shtola's WHM staff.

Yeah it's maiming gear, but if they sold it as "Hilda's jacket" it would be equippable by any job.

And I'm talking about the two-handed staff Y'shtola gets along with her new outfit in Heavensward. It has a unique design and there's a general lack of nice glamour options for low-level CNJ/WHM. We can buy the BLM staff she got in Shadowbringers but not the earlier one.

Or they could lift the job restrictions on glam instead of using it to sell something that exists in the game- not even a recolor. That doesn't sit well with me since it's not a 'unique' outfit.

Back again to keep bumping this for he hair. I have seen the mod for her hair so why can't they release it? I would never use mods I love my account too much. Please just give me Hilda's hair. I love Lyse hair but the fringe can look a bit bad on certain faces.

The fact we still don't have this in 2024 is legit crazy

Her and Estinien's hair. Kinda crazy they don't exist. Let's add Hythlodaeus's hair while we're at it.

Back again to bump this...I really wish they would take notice it just does not make sense why they have not added it! We have had a dry spell with new hairstyles. I am unsure if it is because they are working on the newer races but for the past year or more we have had hardly any, we also got a really short one again with DT and I felt it should have included more.
