Did the little ladies go extinct?
It's held together with the easter event again, not the first time it's happened.
You'd think they would want more events to incentivize people to log on and play, especially while we're now in the pre-next expansion lull but what do I know? (◍´͈ꈊ`͈◍)
Granted, with how little they've been doing with the events (just making them 1-or-2 quests with very little rewards), maybe that would be a lost cause too?
Little Ladies Day and Hatchingtide have never happened at the same time, afaik. It did get held at roughly the same time during the 2021's Valentione's Day event though.
@OP: Little Ladies Day generally happens during the first half or the last half of March, with seasonal events often being announced about a week before they happen.
I mean, Valentione ended only a week ago, and the XV crossover just started, plus the moogle tomestones still going on. I think they just don't want to cramp all events so close to each other.
My guess is Little Ladies will be at the end of March and Hatching Tide somewhere mid to late April
It's still so amusing to me how they make a single quest with like 10 minutes of cutscenes and a 3 minute level 10 FATE and then call that an "event." If any of you took Yoshida's advice and actually played other games, you'd realize what a huge joke this is.
The biggest punchline is XIV's got about a decade worth of abandoned content scattered all over the place. If they just unearthed any of it and tied a token store to it or something, they could have low-effort events every single month. Instead, they release more frequent cash shop updates where the pricing rivals the sort of thing you'd expect from a f2p mmo. But hey! At least the CEO isn't stealing breastmilk like at blizzard, so I guess this is acceptable.
Was that already announced somewhere? It can be easy to miss when a lot of information gets released to JP trade magazines and never gets translated to English.
Little Ladies' Day usually coincides with the Doll Festival, or Girl's Day, in Japan that occurs on March 3rd. Delaying it for almost a month seems strange when it's Hatching Tide that has been a bit more flexible on schedule in the past.
The guy went on record saying he is more or less taking ideas he likes from WoW and adding it to XIV. It's not that shocking considering events here are just WoW events with a fate added to it. Though I wish he would copy WoW's events a little more and make a cool mini village outside of town during Christmas events and things like that.
To XIV's credit, at least every year's event has a different thematic, rewards, and narrative which serves as continuation of the previous year if you played it. WoW has been having the exact same events for over a decade now, the only thing they ever updated is the Darkmoon Faire (admittedly, I loved the not-DDR game and rollercoaster, the Gold Saucer could adopt those)
I have to agree, I started playing Genshin recently and the pacing/energy of community engagement and quality of timed events is much higher than in FF14. Very different games of course, but for example, the recent Lantern Rite had several mini-games where you could queue up and have silly competitions with other players, a voiced storyline, and a CGI-style video of the conclusion of the festivities after you finished the quests. Maybe they are not all this elaborate, not sure yet.
FF14 is much stronger storywise in general so I think they have so much potential to step it up in this area. Maybe it’s just budget being squeezed?
Comparing to other mmos GW2 has some pretty awesome events too. To the credit of WoW and GW2 they re-occur in the sense that they have a lot and if you don't get it that time you can get it next. Ours is adds very little and you will FOMO it. Might be cool if achievement tokens could purchase old items. Of course the amount of times the other two update their preexisting systems is less. The win win would be minor updates each year on solid eventful systems.
The extra story is neat, but due to the layers that don't layer the events feel small on their own and especially so in comparison.
events have been getting phoned in for years at this point, idk why anyone expects them to change.
It wasn't just held at the same time as Valentione's; the events were merged that year. That's what Soveia is thinking of.
So, not the first time for merging events in general or LLD in particular, even though this combination hasn't happened before.
The ladies who used to be little? All grown up. People who are still little? Not ladies. Can't have a day for something that no longer exists.
Little Ladies Day and Hatching Tide together:
March 14th to April 1st
https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...Hatching_tide/
see? phoned in. combined event and a recolored laurel goobbue with a different wreath
That combined event seems a little strange to me. We will have two decoration taking place at two different time, but we will only get one quest and one reward.
Also, the Goobue seems more like a Little ladies rewards than a Easter reward.
Can't hide that i'm disappointed for once
Personally I've never been keen on Hatching-tide rewards, and last year with the Tonberry seemed like they're scraping for ideas, so I'm not sad to see that particular holiday miss out on prizes.
Elsewhere I've seen people point out that the FFXVI event is coming soon, so the usual seasonal event preparation may have been derailed by that. Doubly so with the expansion looming.
This will be my 3rd Goobue!
On the note of the FFXVI crossover I would have preferred FF7 Rebirth one and been given Tifa's or Aerith's hairstyle /outfit.
Why do we always have to be given the male outfit? I am a woman in RL I want a female outfit for my female character. It should be given as a choice.
No, it shouldn't be a choice. They should give both in that case so that everyone is happy and have the same thing for that said event.
I'd like to see a FFVII Rebirth event tho with many hairstyle (Not Cloud cause it's tied to whatever creation event SE make sometimes) like Aerith normal, Aerith Red Robe, Tifa....
And of course the glams that will go with it of course ! And why not a Red XIII Mount ? He dare mount a Chocobo, so why can't we ride him ? xD
simplest explanation: easter is very early this year, save on resources by combining the two, and since XVI event is scheduled just another reason to, plus everyone busy trying to finish up/polish 7.0.
Where's the defense squad? Let me guess, at least we're better than WoW?

They had yokai. People whined about it. They have their normal events. People whine about them.
It's like most of the playerbase turned into entitled gamers.
I like how obviously you can tell they forgot about LL Day in the marketing.
Like this is just the Easter event lol
Clearly, all ladies are equally unworthy in the devs' eyes...
To this day, I still wonder why they are gatekeeping all the NPC emotes and housing items we see in the world, instead of releasing those as rewards to stack up on the lacking rewards in some content, but recoloured Goobbueee mount, yaaaay...
Despite appearances, this is not a free-to-play game. Whining is the safest alternative to everyone cancelling their subs and turning this company bankrupt. You want Square Enix to be acquired and Yoshi-P laid off like they did at Blizzard? I don't think you support FFXIV half as much as the people who are raising complaints about it.
I have said this once, and I'll say it again. FFXIV has the worst events in MMOs. Almost every single other MMOs gives you more event rewards with actual engagement than FFXIV, which is limited to a quest or two, and a single quest reward.
Events in FFXIV are not really events. They're time-limited quests with time-limited rewards that are going to the cash-shop if you don't subscribe and do them.
