I'd love spending my time grinding away at stuff like that during times when I'm not raiding. This could definitely give those dungeons more engagement.
why not?

The issue with them for high-end content is that it means they will do a certain strategy, and the developers like the idea that we can come up with our own strategies, sometimes different from the one they envisioned.
ehh, it still could be done with a group. i think it comes down to player taste. if they dont like the npcs doing one strat, maybe they can go with a group, but then again.. maybe they might could tweak the npcs a bit and let the player choose where they go? idk. i think i like the most basic step first, seems like it would be a fun thing to do though. slow, most likely, but fun lol
I think you mean Variant, not Criterion.
Criterion is basically a savage fight, Variant would be right at home with Duty support.
I do mean criterion, but why not both, even savage? (yes I've done them) so my thoughts stem on a totally different level than the arguments of what would have to be fleshed out to make it work. I just like the idea of going at it solo, and letting SE hammer out the finer details on how it would work
Duty support exists exclusively to make finishing the MSQ a future-proof task. It's not designed to make high-end content a single-player experience.
I've done it before? way to assume you're telling me to get in a discord.. power tripping much? fearful much? scared that the game will be "too easy"? MMOs are already easy, first of all, and secondly many many including this one have proven that you can do things such as I'm suggesting and it NOT interfere with how the game plays for everyone (or even their enjoyment thereof), tyvm. Toxic forums are toxic. the end. looking forward to the overly-expected and obvious replies, mirroring these comments and trying to pretend I'm toxic now. It's that or have you pretend that I havent ALREADY considered all of these comments. So much for being open minded and thinking above the fray. done. get lost. I'm out. inb4 quotes and "we won't miss you". BORING comments.
My experiences with squadrons, trusts, and duty support have all been so awful that I would not want to see them try to implement this lmao
I'm sure this is probably bait but I don't think it's possible. I'm progging Ketuduke once a week with some friends right now and part of the challenge is the randomness of what specific pattern you'll get for the mechanics. That could be challenging to code, which means they would probably need to make things much more predictable so the AI could follow the script. And that would reduce the challenge. I do think they probably need to dial things back a little if they want more widespread appeal on Criterion, but not that much.
My opinion might be unpopular, but Criterion Dungeons need an overhaul. I'd understand if they were savage-difficulty fights designed for solo players, aiming to give people a chance to test their savage skills and capabilities rather than leaving them with: "I wish there were 7 more of me. I'd have done this faster than my teammates can"
However, criterion ends up instead being a savage fight for 4 players rather than 8 players, with nothing in rewards but a mount. This lack of rewards would have been much more understandable if they were, again, designed for solo players.
I think if we have implemented a mythic+ dungeon system from WoW, that'd have been way more popular than Variant & Criterion ever are. With a raising difficulty and affixes to spice up the dungeon run.
