Wow. Those Shatter changes. No small ices at start for 420 seconds and then they all spawn at the exact same time? And now 2 large ices up at once... Still trying to wrap my head around what they were trying to go for here...
Good to see DRG and DRK getting the nerfhammer. Surprised to see SMN on it though, but I guess coordinated Bahamut nukes were still a thing somewhere. Also another baby step nerf for WHM's Miracle... Hoping they didn't go overboard for BRD's kit though.

It's about time they finally do it correctly. Maybe it'll make causality farming from Frontlines more enjoyable!
Not sure about the nerfing on kill points though. In a glance it may seemed like they're trying to incentivize pacifist gameplay but at the same time they're also nerfing the small ices that pacifists seem to love chasing after... guess we'll see how it'll turn out once it's live.
They nerfed points for downing enemy PLAYERS on Shatter by 50%, LMAO. And 2 large icycles active at once...
What can I say, new PvE Frontline map is looking good I suppose. You can occasionally wave to the other team while snowballing between tomeliths!
And, finally, they made Purify a functinong ability. Took them long enough. It still doesn't block draw-in and knockback effects though. Could be a major counter for the DRK spam, but we can't have that for some reason.

I didn't see the DRG and DRK nerfs at first. Went back to look, and now I'm happy. And any nerf to MoN is a good nerf. Even if it should just be thrown into the sun at this point...And a BLM buff! Even...if it's tiny. I'll take it.Quote:

Gonna be honest, it feels more like a squeaky hammer than actual one for DRK/DRG lol

Shatter got more boring but I guess i gotta try and regardless get the title someway... WHM's Miracle Nature might as well be replaced but that's gotta be in Dawntrail, I guess lol
More curious on the Purify, if it also means resisting pulls too aside WHM's stuff
I think it's good when killing players is the better strat in pvp than hammering away at the crystals. These changes dont look great.

It seems like they are trying to combat people's focus on small ices (it's a common strat we go for, where we just kill the small ices a lot). They want the focus to be mostly big ices.
Meanwhile, they know that all the other teams are bored if a big ice is up, so it seems this is why they want to have 2 big ices up.
Genuinely don’t know what you’re happy about. These are the most out of place changes I’ve seen in a while, basically DRK and SAM got done dirty.
DRK is the weakest tank on its own and now they made it even more weak. It’s fascinating how they ignored the main issue DRK has which is Salted Earth. It’s as if SE is encouraging every DRK to join premades to get more powerful (and be useful).
And don’t let me start on SAM, now it’s almost a gimmick class that revolves around its LB (Zantetsuken). A super situational LB that only noobs fall for.
SMN nerf is wild because it’s already nerfed to the ground but since two random SMNs decided to use their LB at the same time that means its OP in SE eyes.
DRG nerfs are questionable because the only two things that needs nerf is their LB and Horrid Raor.
I like how SE intentionally avoids the main issues some classes have in Frontline and decides to nerf everything else.

Yes, I've been reading some opinions on reddit (amazing, right? decent to read sometimes when its not inundated with commission fanart/ upvote bait), and I don't think the knee-jerk reaction of "Shatter is bad now" (low bar) is necessarily correct. These changes do mostly eliminate the meme of players jumping from small ice to small ice all game, as the small ices will only spawn two or three times a game, and it will be a hectic minute when they do. And having 2 big ices does solve the problem of only 1 team (with the ramp) having nearly uncontestable access to a large ice every couple minutes causing the other two to usually putz around at small ices. Had a hard time seeing what their goal was changing it up. but I think I'm starting to see it.
Literally only "happy" with DRK and DRG adjustments (they hardly solve the problem, but they make it a bit more manageable/less braindead). It's been clear in this entire expansion cycle that mostly all Frontline-only adjustments were going to be relegated to mere damage reductions and LB timer changes. DRK enjoys a largely repercussion-free set-up on a massive scale used in conjunction with their LB's invincibility (that also does large AoE damage when activating). And unfortunately DRG basically piggybacks off that set-up to score insane damage/kills. This likely won't make the actual "meta" problem go away, but I'm willing to bet it makes it feel slightly-less oppressive.
The problem is a lot of these adjustments are done because of LBs. That's why I'm sure SMN and GNB got hit with a FL damage nerf and the increased LB charge time. I was surprised, wondered if it was warranted for SMN- hardly "happy" about it.
I do sympathize with SAM and wonder what this was all about; as their LB will kill you regardless of their damage modifiers, so the damage nerf solves nothing other than encouraging them to be more reliant on their LB?
