Final Fantasy XI Alliance Raid

Please make this the best Alliance raid ever! Heres what you guys can do to make this the best Alliance raid..

1. Add Voice overs!

2. Send us to the 3 main cities from FF11. Windy, Bastok, and Sandy

3. You gotta add the song "Distant Worlds" from FF 11 in the raid... This is a MUST!

FF 11 was my first MMO and I freaking loved it! you guys gotta do this raid justice

Im both excited and terrified with how theyll approach it. Ivalice wasnt perfecr but it was about as good as it was going to get with integrating lore between different games.

It would be so weird to be in those cities especially with the music, my brain would have some meltdown lol.

I'd like it to be more like Return to Ivalice, with a narrative and story that's both immediately substantial, and told in a way that makes it exist outside of the walls of it's instances, and leaves you thinking about it's connected threads to the world it takes place in. I've never played XI, so I hope Echoes makes me MORE interested in it's story and world.

And less like Myths, which does a lot of waving magic fingers in your face, almost condescendingly trying to make you wonder what could be happening. Also, please include fewer (or no) bosses that stand still casting a single predictable mechanic for 15 seconds at a time while you melt them without a worry in the world. They look and sound nice, but Myths was a faceroll.

And Dancer artifact set as gear drops, please.

If the alliance raids are going to be the same level of Ivalice raids lore integration into FFXIV then I'm excited and looking forward to it, since Ivalice lore did support the worldbuilding (Bozja is an example of an original FFXIV lore coming out as a result of the integration)

If the alliance raids are going to be the same level as Nier raids lore, then please give me a heads up so I don't start the quests and keep the thing locked. FOREVER! (Even when I'm playing FFXI at the time of writing this. Nier raids experience and wacky quests & lore is something I don't want to repeat again)

I just want them to be as engaging as the Ivalice raids were on release. For real this time! I always wanted to play 11 and never got around to it so I'm hoping the story will be enough to draw me in too!

I know it won’t happen but Dynamis Bastok, Jeuno, San’doria and Windy would be amazing

My guess is they will bring back Iroha to start the quest line. I really hope they have is fight the big bads for each expansion.

As a Dark Knight main, I'd love Zeid to show up somehow, though I'm just huffing hopium here.

Maat fight would be cool

I hope it leads to a bump in interest in XI itself, like combining launchers/subs

Most importantly make the mechanics not completely braindead.

The nostalgia is real and these raids is what I look forward to the most this upcoming expac.

Things I want from this raid...

- FFXI music rolls, including a the Dolphin theme from play online
- FFXI Armor sets, including Dalmatica and Askar sets


Also, the 24 main raid should be tied to the Dawntrail relic line, and Rowena should team up with...

They did establish with the FF XI crossover event that Vana'diel exists in a different world... I do hope they keep that canon and rerun that event before they release of the raids with references to it like the WoL having heard of Vana'diel.

Can we have the team run through Valkurm Dunes for a short while?

If they make it like Ivalice where anyone who didn't play the game is lost in paragraphs of text it's going to be a disappointment. I'm expecting to have fun even if I don't know these characters or the plot of FFXI, not being rushed through excessive fanservice for a game I didn't play.

Voice overs would be nice. I'd also like to hear new renditions of FF11 music tracks instead of direct ports like they did with Eureka and Ivalice content.

Hopefully the difficulty is a bit higher than what EW alliance raids offered. If it was up to me, though, I'd add a Savage version which is split into 4 separate raids (1 for each boss) which drops loot that's 10 ilvl higher than normal savage. Give people something to do during odd number patches.

Most I care about is the gameplay quality. I really hope the raid will actually feel like a raid and not whatever the hell the Myth raids were.

Not shocking at all, really. Vana'diel cannot be a shard of Eitherys without rewriting the lore in FFXI and I know people will hate this. Imagine being told "oh Altana and Promathia were primals all along lol and we, the Ancients, were really the ones who created the five playable races and beastmen, not them lololol." That just... nah mate. Vana'diel is its own world.

It'd make more sense for Atamos from FFXI to be how we travel to Vana'diel, or at least to the Walk of Echoes to experience devoured time lines of Vana'diel.

Make it so you have to get an Ancient Papyrus, Exoray Mold and Bomb Coal to open the next raid.

Part of me feels like the FFXI based content should have been exploratory zones tied to relic weapon construction and progression lol XD

I have a STRONG need for FFXI armor in 14

I know nothing about FFXI's lore or plot, so I really hope they find a way to make the raid storyline captivating and comprehensible to those who never played that game. I really was not thrilled with the Nier content; I mean, the raids themselves are awesome, but I just did not get what was going on with the story and struggled to find a reason to care. I knew nothing about Nier going in, and after completing it I felt like I knew even less. Granted, I've been told that's what actually playing Nier is like to some extent, but still. I'd rather not have another one of those, please.

I am sure they will give all the forum trolls plenty of content to spew all over the forums. I look forward to it. You will not get voice overs. They have never been added to a single alliance raid.

Speaking as someone who's never played an Ivalice game, I didn't really feel lost at all. The story gave me the context I needed and told a story with that; maybe I would've gotten more out of it knowing more of the references, but I had plenty of fun without having known the characters or plot beforehand.

Looking forward to the crossover as a big FFXI fan. I do hope Maat makes a appearance and I would love to see Luzaf. I bet he would look good in FFXIV lol <3

I hope they do a good job of it and I am hoping we get some nice glams music and minions.

There should be a part where we get on a ship and everyone feels safe until one of the fishing bots pulls in Sea Horror.

Or we come to Selbina and the ship comes in and as soon as it docks a pile of dead bodies spawn on the pier.

I never played FFXI so this alliance raid will be new to me lol

TBH if there's a boat sequence and the pirate music kicks in, I might just start panicking and frantically trying to open the door to the cargo room.

Shantotto also visited Eorzea in an early ARR crossover event. Even better though, in FFXI she does mention that in her interdimensional travel shenanigans, she visited a world that's got similar peoples to Vana'diel.

Shantotto and Y'shtola could definitely share some notes, especially given the ease in which our Tarutaru minister is able to hop dimensions.

Still think if Maat shows up in FFXIV he needs to be an ultimate level trial. Have him go through a phase for each job in the game that isn't in a set order and once he's done them all, he finally decides to stop using only 1% of his strength and uses every job at the same time lol.

And if you survive he hands you his hat and walks off into the sunset.

Give us FFXI Eureka\Boz type zones, one for each crag, final one in sky, with last part being Kirin inside a BA style dungeon run.
