[Graphical Update] Viera Nose

Watched the keynote and in the showcase of the races I noticed theres a bit of a discrepancy in the male and female Viera noses. The male nose looks pretty true to the original, keeping the lighter tip, but the female doesn't have it at all.

I don't play Viera, but the nose was something I always liked about their designs, so it really sticks out to me! I hope it's just an error or something.

Really hope this is something they take into consideration! The bunny nose is so cute and a really distinctive feature, it's a shame to see it less prominent. Feels so silly and petty being pedantic about nostrils but those aren't defined enough either! It's like they've been huffing vaseline.

The bunny nose is such an important feature of Viera faces, seeing it vanish is a huge shame! If it's meant to be a bit darker than before on the example face, it's currently a bit too far and has been pushed to the point of being very difficult to see.

I'm hoping it's a bug and they accidentally made the skin tone affect that part of the nose more than intented, 'cause yeah that bunny nose is essential to viera looks! D':

the nose makes them look more unique and less like the other pretty women races ingame, without it the only difference are the ears or else I would have choosen an hyur or elezen :( I need it back

IKR? I hope to heck this was a mistake and were not the same nose and that nose/texture is still going to be available. It is completely inappropriate to remove features that are part of a race's design in order to make their face more "human" under the banner of "graphics update".

I play Viera Female, and I think it's an improvement. The Female Viera update looks absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to try out the new graphics on all eight of my Viera female characters. (Yes, I am a true Viera female enthusiast.)

tbh the model of the nose itself is significantly less rabbit-like

Why did they remove the distinct tone of viera nose and replaced it with generic human nose?

To be honest that is disappointing.


Make nose 6 for all who might enjoy it but dont remove the original one

Yeah for real, if it's just a different option, ok fine, but it's super bad to remove the rabbit features from a rabbit-like race :<

I'm glad you mentioned. I hope they fix it/change it back. I have a lot of Viera chars and I don't like the changes with the noses, and the adjustments change a lot about their features at the moment, like their lip shapes. It's not very subtle imo :(

Imagine if they took the tail from Miqo'te or if they took the giraffe neck from Elezen!

taking away one of the few rabbit-like features we get is going to feel like playing a slightly taller hyur wearing bunny ears

Has anyone else noticed that they have sort of "antialiasing stairs" effect on lips with all the recent cutscenes from below the chin? They have like 1mm open mouth and the teeth make white pixels that appear and disappear when camera moves.

Sorry but I actually think the viera noses look much better to me. I do understand people like the uniqueness though so it should be an option in the "special racial features" (kinda like ear clips on some races) so people can choose it as they see fit. A lot of Japanese players on twitter also like the new noses so I think there will be a pretty big divide as far as that's concerned.

Agreed, please don't take the rabbit nose away from f Viera! At least keep it an option in character customization.

They need to stop doin' things that make me feel a need to post on the forums.

Anyway, +1. I really hope they fix this; it's a very cute & distinctive part of Viera that should be visible no matter the skin tone.

I'm so glad someone made a forum about this, I really hope they return the viera noses! I love it when they're really distinct, it'd be great if they just put it back to as visible as it was but at the very least.. a toggle would be nice!

I've never used the forum before, but I also want to say that I'm not a fan of the updated nose look. Please let me keep my bunny nose! :(

(same I only made an account because of this XD) 100% Agreed, there is no place in a "graphical update" to be changing the design of a race. If they wanna add it as a new option, totally fine.

I want to say I am very happy to see the graphical updates to all the characters and how it adds so much quality to the WOL. And I am a fan of the majority of changes to skin tones and defining features, but I am sad to say that I am disappointed in the direction they took the viera noses. My fav part of the viera's faces were their cute bunny like noses and it makes me sad to see the team make them sharper in the 7.0 update. It makes them lose a lot of their charm and makes it feel like I'm playing a hyur with bunny ears. I just hope it doesn't change the nose of the viera face I am using because I love my viera's bunny nose a lot. Please fix the viera noses! I love their bunny-like features so much!

I'm all for it if fixes not being able to use most head gear.

Please bring back the nose tip detail! it's so distinctive, at least give us a toggle for how it was before

Please, please, please fix the noses! I love the fact my viera girl has a bun nose!! Please don't remove it, Graphics Update!

adding to this thread. bunny noses are one of the most distinctive features of the viera, without them they're just hyur with bunny ears. please don't get rid of viera noses!!! D:

Agreed, I kind of felt the same with Female Elezen mouth shape and the nose structure of Fem Roe, but I neither think they were very pronounced nor do I play those races. Viera nose hyur-ification is a different story XD

I also hope that this is a texture fault from the rework, I miss the cute little bunny nose on the female viera! It's such a charm point!!

Like, I love the definition of her features and how bright her eyes are, but please bring back the cute little light bunny nose feature!

I actually set up a forum account just to add to this thread: please give us an option to keep the original Viera bunny noses! They're a huge part of the charm for me and it would be very upsetting to lose them.

I agree! I really hope they keep the original nose design! Its a defining feature and will be sorely missed if its removed or changed in this way!

Without the nose they're just humans with bunny ears. I hope they fix this.

They are bunny-like and are a part of their identity. They simply are NOT the same without them.
Our characters will not be the same if this change goes through...
Its unacceptable to just use a simple nose that could belong to any race instead. They did the same with Au Ra limbal rings, so please let us keep the noses.

I hope its a mistake because male Viera have kept this feature. I don't know if they see this feedback post but I hope they do. I hope people with Japanese accounts also give feedback.

Isn't it kind of the other way around? Looks like they're trying to make them look like rabbit noses a bit.
