I have no idea what this is about, but I love Pokémon!
overall who cares about beastmaster itself it's the side content that counts gotta make it so when we collect the beasts we can pokemon battle idc about doing battle content like dungeons or trials i care about catching twintania and having a kaiju battle with my friend.
I mean, from the sounds of it there might be something like a fishing log except it'll be "tame everything".
I hope they let you tame S, A, and B class hunts.
I'm really curious what their plan is for Beastmaster, and how they can differentiate it from Blue Mage in how you develop your skill set and how it feels to play. Although it was through a translator, it sort of sounded from Yoshi P's words that they're still not 100% sure on the specifics either.
A lot of people are probably hoping for some kind of Pokémon style content, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. They did say there would be new Gold Saucer content coming in 7.x, maybe a Beastmaster battle arena? I just feel like it's either going to be JUST that, OR an actual combat job that can do limited duties same as Blue Mage. Probably not both.
He litterally toll us the dont have a Plan because how Do you spit harter too someones Face who is a Fan of the job the this
No no no! It's Bee Master!! ;)
it will be able to do normal content like blu and que up for content like blue, but it will have side content like blu did aka the carnival, so i will say they could develop it as pokemon and even put it into gold saucer.
while i will say my hopes are not super up a pokemon mini game its honestly the only thing that could really sell the limited job for me cause just like blu why do i care to collect a bunch of animals for old content that i can easily unsync with my pld? i will level it and collect beasts but it will be thrown away if its side content isnt better than blu.
I hope it's solo-focused and maybe doesn't get as much of an exp boost as BLU.
Although XIV's world is nowhere near as dangerous or intimidating as XI's, so maybe there's no point in hoping they attempt to make it like the solo BST leveling was there.
Hope they try hard, if it is gutted WoW hunter beastmaster just to be limited job.... something our comrade / competition achieved in 'normal'. That would be unfortunate. So I hope they can make the argument that they can't design it normally as strong as they can, in both features and power. . .
Otherwise it's just cool ideas being limited because they can't design something too interesting in normal as they want normal jobs to be quite homogeneous with non-asymmetrical systems (a different but compounding issue that seems more commonly expressed).
I for one was hoping for beastmaster as a regular job, I havent been a fan of limited. Admittedly, I havent given a lot a time into Blu but willing to give it a try.
Why should they its less work too copy cat BLU replace spells with animals and voila pretend having content. But at least everybody likes limited Jobs right? Right?
That would probably end up just being a lamer SMN and you'd just be pressing the sheep button to have a sheep run in and do a thing and leave.
As a limited job they can let you tame whatever pet and run around with it and not have to worry about it being balanced against every other job on the DPS meter in Ultimates. So you could tame a crab and have it do defensive moves or tame a bee and it could do stabby moves. They could also introduce 'killer' effects from FFXI and/or Pokemon-type weaknesses.

I've seen some people suggest it might be chocobo v2, with a similar progression window, and the creature you pull out is purely cosmetic player choice. Going with the affinity chart similarly to how BLU spells carry an element(in the Carnivale, anyway) would be a neat idea as well, though I'd hope they could apply it to all content. Now that I think about it, it'd be amusing if you could actually use your trained chocobo as your familiar, with various buffs applied.
Pink hearts for everyone!
Beastmaster is the first thing I have seen in the coming expansion that really has me excited.
