Agree! this game need more thick eyebrows T^T
Most of the eyebrows options are either thin like paper or non existing lol
Bro they can't even add facial hair without making an entirely separate face and that's just for midlanders, I think adding eyebrows is too much to ask.
And yet the latest msq npc had no problem rocking eyebrows with an otherwise rather generic build.
It feels really bad that the playable characters are less unique than the rest of the world - considering how special our role is in this game it's rather ironic
Well, it's not the first time a quest related NPC have some unique features and probably won't be the last.
I'm certain they want the NPCs to stick out and have a more unique feeling so they won't feel generic like "everyone else".
So I have little faith in that players will get more features.
I agree, and I'm still holding out hope highlanders will get eyebrows someday! With the graphics update coming in 7.0 I'm nervous about how that face paint option will look with higher resolution textures :(
bro i have been begging for this since day 1
It just simply isn't feasible, its called lasagna code or something.
You'll get your eyebrows back when you finally learn how to light a barbeque grill properly.
I am in full support of this. I don't care if there's lore reasons my dude would be rockin' normal, bushy eyebrows.
Everyone and their mother always brings up "lore reasons" when it comes to not giving male highlanders eyebrows. Ivon Coeurlfist, male highlander, has the bushiest eyebrows I've ever seen on a character. No I don't care that he uses a unique non-player model, he's a male highlander lore wise and that's that. We're done with the "lore reasons" excuse.
I may be having a stroke but I think I noticed a couple of facial features on various NPCs over the months that looked different. A game dev friend of mine also pointed out that in some dungeons SE seem to be testing wall textures or lighting or whatever (I forgot). Maybe that's because they are testing features for a new character creator? But then again I'm probably just high on hopium.
Yes! Another one of these posts! Now I can once again flex MIDLANDER SUPERIORITY. Buffer? Taller? So what. Can you do this? Emotes with eyebrows. No. You can't. Because you're eye bald. Do you like mine? I nourish them with Highlander tears. I find it makes them even more luscious. Which is funny, 'cause you don't have any. Stokes eyebrows Mmmm...yessss.
(This is a joke. I'm fine with them having at least one option for eyebrows. If cat and bun boys are supposed to be extremely rare because lore, yet I trip over one every three feet when I'm in Limsa, surely some Highlanders can eschew tradition and have eyebrows).
SE: "Well, actually, we programmed Male Highlander hair where the eyebrow slot would normally be, so you can have one or the other."

Without even taking into consideration that not all Highlanders are Ala Mhigan, specially the playable character who could've been born in Doma for all we know. Anyway, to indulge how silly the "lore" reason is.
"It's their lore to not have eyebrows!"
the lore:
Technically not Highlanders, but we can also count
No he is very much a highlander, as is the pugilist guild master (for him it is clearly stated he is a highlander by other characters), but they use elderly models so their physique isn't as muscular and are "technically" classed as midlanders by the game. Ala Mhigo is populated entirely by highlanders when it comes to hyur, there is only one example of a midlander who is Ala Mhigan if we do not count Lyse and Minfillia, who are both 1.0 characters and at that time female highlanders didn't "exist", and that one midlander was from a post Stormblood side quest that involved refugees returning to Ala Mhigo. In all likelihood it was either unintentional or it was because they wanted a younger looking male character who was not burly.
I admittedly forgot about Hamon, but funny enough he does lack eyebrows

The lore definitely does not prevent a highlander from having eyebrows. Anyone saying otherwise needs to take an intentionally unreasonable interpretation of the lore for that to happen. If a culture tends to do a certain thing that only means it's common among the people of that culture, not that it's universally present. It's exactly like reality where people around you might like a certain type of clothing or TV show, but you don't. Finding people that don't conform to every part of their own culture is completely normal, but this seems to be forgotten in video games.
