Fall Guys event is held back by long queues and the low server tick rate

As the title says, the servers are holding back a crossover that is surprisingly well executed. Making the stupid bean game fit into the XIV universe has been executed very well but the gameplay is ass. Not only does it take 5 minutes to get into games right now, which is awful given you're only guaranteed a minimum of 50 currency, but the actual gameplay is suffers due to the tick rate.

Had a game earlier where I got to the crown first on my screen but I'm running into an invisible wall before the game catches up with the client catches up and has someone else fly into the crown and win. That's not so bad because you at least get 300 points or whatever for making it that far. However, the next game has me die first round because of the swinging balls and it's honestly a 50-50 if you'll get knocked off when you're past them or not.

Again, the core concept is well executed but it just feels really bad to play because of XIV's quite substandard servers for a large and modern MMO in 2023. You're years behind the mark and if this upcoming cloud server test isn't successful... just keep buying more servers I guess?

Just always assume you're 1 second behind from your current position on your screen. It sucks that we have to do that, but I don't think SE's going to fix server update rate issues anytime soon.

Yeah, I'm hoping that this will show SE that the netcode needs to be updated like yesterday. I'm hoping they see this as a wake up call /copium

While it won’t help now, going to a cloud infrastructure will help reduce alot of problems. Till then, we adapt, thanks for the heads up as I’m still at work.

Yeah I just go in assuming the second delay. Been pretty successful with it minus with the hammers in the last round. Those hammers are buggy AF.

Oh and for the swinging balls on round one. You have space to go around them. No need for the 50/50. Unless you know there's 16 people ahead that is.

If only. Some parts of this event are absolutely atrocious though. The blue crystal segment feels 100% RNG. I've been catapulted sideways off the platform by AoEs going off 30 feet behind me.

Probably not this specific issue, citizen. I believe the netcode itself needs to be fixed to improve low server tick rate.

I just hate they added PLATFORMING into a game with absolute trash platforming. It's the thing I hate the most in the game, and I hate fall guys.

By far this is the worst event ever in game, for me.

Not only platforming, but pvp based platforming with achieves / rewards tied to it.

I don't recall the exact amount but you can get almost any of 1 item with a win. I wanna say around 400 for a minion.
So worst case scenario, like an hour ish to get both.

If you ever desire to get all the unique items to the event it'll take 6,120 MGF. If you have no desire for the housing items you'll need 4800 MGF.

1st round 24 players start, 16 qualify for next round. 2nd round 16 start, 8 qualify for next round. 3rd round 8 start, 1 captures the crown. You're guaranteed to get 50 points no matter what, with more points earned depending on how far you progress.

Nope, you only get 50 points if you get eliminated on round 1. And there's 16/24 who make it to round 2. Then 8/16 go to the final round.
So essentially, you need to beat a third of the 24 people to get more points than 50.

Assuming you have a full lobby (rewards scale down a bit with less players) as far as I can tell its:
Round 1 - 50 for losing, 100 if you qualify
Round 2 - 50 for losing, 150 if you qualify
Round 3 - 50 for losing, 200 if you win

These add up, so losing in Round 3 is 300 in total (100+150+50) for instance

Why should they update it?

The intended audience (JAPAN) it's working fine. Everybody is so close to the server they can walk outside and pat it like a puppy.

What do you mean everybody else is thousands of miles from the server and the system don't work? Sorry, can't hear you over our awesome net. Must be a you thing.

In short, because this will never happen to the people in the office in JP, they'll never even notice it...

Don't play it. It isn't hard. XIV has been around for 10 years and has been thriving throughout those 10 years with the current setup. If you think a company will drastically change their infrastructure while they are continuing to make bank I am sure I can find something to sell you.

You can easily get the glamour with a few hours of gameplay and likewise the mounts, minions etc with a few hours more. It's only going to be truly insufferable if you're after the 100 wins achievement for the King/Queen Bean title.

Not quite as I learned last night if you have less than 24 in the start your MGF is reduced accordingly so it can be less that 50.

I play Fallguys from time to time and this is not how Fallguys should be. It has the looks and the sound but why did they ever add this stuns and mechanics in a mini game that supposed to be fun? The server tick is annoying! This is not fun at all! I was expecting a new map in leap of faith that is like fall guys! instead we get a Fallguys x dungeon mechanics! come on! This is a wake up call for them to change their coding! It really shows in this collab! The game is FALL GUYS and not STUN GUYS!
