I'm really excited for the Fall Guys collaboration, but less excited for needing to check in every 15 minutes to see if this limited-time event is the upcoming GATE.
Maybe it won't be as rough as I'm imagining it? Curious to hear your thoughts.

Why are we collaborating with Fall Guys again? I played that mess like three times when it was relevant then never again.
I mean regardless of what you think about the actual Fall Guys game, the crossover within FF14 looks like Leap of Faith and The Slice is Right had a baby, which sounds like perfect Gold Saucer fare and lot of fun for the folks who like that sort of thing. One of my favorite things about FF14 gameplay is trying to achieve a goal while not standing in the wrong spot, and this is gonna be a new and interesting way to do that.
I won't be playing it that much, citizen. I never found Fall Guys to be interesting.
Favor the road traveled by few.
From looking at the special site, I don't think this is going to be a GATE. It has its own special vendor located in a separate area from the rest of the Gold Saucer and that would be awkward if it was a GATE. More likely it will be similar to what Chocobo Racing was before it was added to Duty Finder.
Hope the gate is called "Final Falltasy"
That's what I was thinking too when I saw the rewards list. We're talking thousands of the currency to get one of each unique item, having it on the GATE schedule would seriously cause issues for people who want it, but can't get there for those times due to being at work/school/life things. With it being it's own separate location, and instanced events, then it is easier for those same casual players to be able to obtain some, if not most/all, that they are wanting from it.
I have no idea what a Fall Guys is, and I don't plan to learn now.
Haven't decided if I care enough to go for any of the rewards. Guess I'll see how the event works and decide then if I can be bothered.
My body is ready,I'm ready to race and take the crown.
i am alittle sad it seems i wont be able to farm mgp through it but i feel i am excited to see it will be a different form of moogle tomes. as its will be reshowing up kinda like the moogle tome event.
didnt they say something like its gonna be open gor one week each month... or similar?
The game can appeal to a lot of players. I don't see a problem with that as long as we don't see everything getting remade to try to please a specific demographic. With the event having it's own area, it will be easy to avoid.
I've never played it but younger members of my FC talk about it frequently in our Discord.
The legs look cute but I don't have much interest in any of the other items. The housing items might be fun for those who make jumping puzzles in their houses.
Why imitate bad examples?
Why holding myself to higher standards than everybody else? How many dumb posts do i have to read until i get to be mean?
Added: I love how the thing we are talking about is the text "Reading helps" How thin skinned are you? Not being much on the forums i see. Or is it because i said that as a lala player to someone playing a female Elezen? I'm just trying to understand how that comment out of all things sparked this discussion.
Yes, all of them cost less than 500 individually, but to get one of each unique item, it will definitely be in the thousands - didn't bother counting because I saw at least 5 items at 300-400+, and with how long that list was, it will easily add up to probably 6-10k.
Edit: Just did a calculation, and for 1 of each unique item it comes to 6120
Ah, I misunderstood what you meant. My bad.
The reward costs don't mean much until we know how many points we actually get for playing (unless that's also something I missed?). Although, I imagine it will take quite a bit of playing if you want to get everything. Thankfully the event will stick around for two months.
Great for the ones who enjoy Fall Guys...
I don't think I am... Maybe I'd do it for the rewards (if they aren't like a huge time sink), but even that I'm not quite sure if I like what is being offered. The glam is too ugly, lol!
Honestly hoping this is better than actual Fall Guys. I got it when it actually cost money, thanks a lot epic for making it free-to-play and screwing over people who paid actual money, it wasn't very appealing to me.
Yeah 6120 is what I need. I just hope you get at least a reasonable amount just for participating. Doing the math If you can get at least 150 MGF a day as a minimum would have enough in 41 days. Of course, getting more That Will lessen how many days you need to get one of each unique item.
I think an important bit of detail to be aware of here is that you would in no way be holding yourself to a higher standard than everybody else: you would only be holding yourself to a higher standard than those at the bottom of the barrel. There are plenty of people on the forums who keep it respectful, and the standard that they hold themselves to is the same standard you would be holding yourself to.
It depends on what you mean by "get to". Obviously you have the choice to be mean whenever you want, so in that sense you always "get to".
But if you're talking about "get to" as in "can do so without repercussions"...well, unfortunately, being mean is never a good look. It just sucks to interact with people who are mean. Lots of people are understandably not going to like that.
I didn't say anything remotely close to that. As long as you're kind, we're cool. ^^
I mean that's not what I'd suggest. Beyond simply being unkind, it's just an ineffective way to argue a point, since it's human nature to be resistant to any idea — no matter how logical it may be — when it comes from someone who's being mean to you or others you care about.
Anyway, if you genuinely think I insulted someone at some point, please provide me with a link to it. I'd be really surprised if that were true since that's not my M.O., but if I'm slipping up or even if there's just a difference in perception, knowing about that can help me improve in the future.
Honestly kind of surprised it's not just going to be a permanent add on like they did for Monster Hunter given the amount of work it looks like went into it. Also Fall Guys is one of those games you can just pick up and do whenever you have a few minutes to waste so I would feel like that aspect of it is something the collab needs to carry over.
By having it permanently people would unsub to 6.55 new MSQ or even DT release
By giving it a limited time run they get people resubbing during otherwise a pretty empty space in the schedule to avoid missing the rewards. In other words FOMO
Not blaming them for doing the smart thing from a business perspective either, I would be subbed either way, just pointing it out
As a older person' i'm happy Fallguys made it's way into my main mmorpg; i'm a huge fan of Takeshi's Castle or 'Fûun! Takeshi Jô' -not to be confused with the India remake that Amazon Prime keeps forcing down people's throats recently.
I'm talking about the OG Takeshi's Castle from the 80's, which is what inspired the developers of Fallguys. The series has returned in other forms over the years and been repurposed by other countries, but i feel the 1986-1989 run was its purest form.
