2.0 Picture: Lv46 DRG Wearing Body AF Gear

I'm not gonna freak out over a screenshot of a yet-to-be-completed 2.0, but I must say I'm wondering why does this DRG have a lv50 body piece on him?

Perhaps current AF is being dumbed down in place of newer, better stuff.

Anyways, just wanted to post this to hear anyone's thought on the picture =/

Cause developers don't have lvl restriction

It's a test server, they can do whatever they want.

Same reason an Archer had Sarnga and Darklight equipped at the same time in the class-only weapons teaser video.

SE just wants things to look aesthetically pleasing.

^ This. Im surprised the DRG is even lv.46. I would of assumed the dev. or whoever playing would of been lv.1 and wearing full AF. If he was lv.1 what do you think would attract ppl more to the game a guy fighting things in a subligar and crappy gear or someone in full shinny AF set. Like when everyone has all the best gear in gaming videos they know almost no one is ever going to get it, but they like to show off how pretty there best stuff looks and what not.

In another of the screenshots that dragoon is even using Dragonfire Dive.
Simply guessing, they took those screenshots during an otherwise unrelated testing session. Probably they were testing the battle system and then the PR team came by "Hey, we need a few shots for PR!" and they went "Sure, let's just dress up" and used whatever environment they were on at the moment.

Also, they probably did it in order to better display the exp bar. If you're 50, that bar would be empty, and then you get the "What the heck is that dull yellow bar for?" or "Where did the exp bar go?"

Also in every CoP screenshot people were in AF armor, which a full set is @level 60..yet Promyvion and Rivrine is 30-40/50 cap xD. So it's mostly for looks if anything as he stated "Seeing a Dragoon would say "This is Final Fantasy."

Well, forgot about the lvl 50 coeurl?

and the fact that he is using the Relic Weapon as well...

it's just there to look cool.

the pics are there for show and thats it.

Mismatched gear doesn't look as well as a cohesive set of armor with an artifact weapon.

Showing off that artifact armor which is archetypal of a Final Fantasy Dragoon also shows that Final Fantasy XIV has throwback references to other games in the series, which may entice people to play.

I'm sad that more people notice the AF and they don't notice the new lance animation..

To see a new idle stance, it doesn't need to be animated, necessarily.

If you look at it, it says he's using DFD - I'm assuming the character in-picture is Kain, DRG and all - but at the same time it doesn't look like he's executing the ability.

It seems to me that they've overhauled weapon animations for each race and weapon type, if the Dragoon's lance idle (in what I presume is active mode) is any indication. Looks like an idle battle stance to me, and it looks ****ing awesome.

Why do you assume it's an idle stance and not one frame of a full animation sequnence?

In fact, looking at it again it looks like a frame from the existing "landing" animation from a jump.

That's the other screenie that led me to believe lots of the animations for battle and casting will be different.

The BLM picture looks like its CGI and not an in-game screenshot. Also, the DRG doesn't have both hands on his spear, don't think that'd be a good idle stance in terms of combat effectiveness so its probably just the end or beginning of an attack.
