I’ve heard that they mentioned awhile back that previous PVP season rewards would be returning in some way, but I haven’t been able to find an update on this. Anyone know where I can find out more about this? I hope they do come back!

At this point maybe next MMO. xD
Nah it wont. The wintraders and those who made 3+ chars and got them into the top 100 dont have anything to be proud if they do.
First of all, not everyone in Top 100 is or was a wintrader and the alt-account parking was also not done by many individuals. Furthermore, Datacenters and therefore regions matter before you start projecting at all.
Second, if you'd actually do your research a bit, there are many of us Top 100 rankers who would NOT mind a rerelase of past rewards, assuming either A) the originals would somehow stand out from the replicas in some capacity or B) the challenge should be the same as in the past, to score top 100. But I bet it is easier to project for drama than to ask or research.
While I can't speak for everyone, I haven't cheated, I haven't wintraded and I never made a single alt. I for one earned my place in Feast Season 19 on Light fair and square.
Well I am not talking about those who got it an honest way. Back when CC was introduced I saw many ppl who parked their alts wishing it doesnt happen
Just to be clear, what they said is that they intended for Series (not to be confused with season) rewards to return, i.e. the Battlepass rewards for those that didn't play at the time. They are quite overdue with that at this point.
Yoshida has come out and said multiple times that there are no plans to rerelease past Top 100 (season) rewards. What I assume is that JP region considers them as legitimate trophies justifying their exclusivity. I wouldn't mind a replica rerelease, but if Yoshida sticks to saying no then that's how the fish will swim.
With the way squeenix code behaves makes sense.
I hope they do. Nearly everything else in the game, even things that were once exclusive, is obtainable somehow. And very few people ultimately care.
Sorry, maybe I’m not using the correct terminology, and I’m still pretty new so I’m not sure what the Top 100 prizes were.
What I’m talking about is the mounts and pets you get as you level up in PvP, for instance, Robot Bunny Mount and the Ruby Weapon minion. That kind of stuff.
Ayy don't worry. That stuff is known as Series, commonly known and referred to as Battlepass by many players.
As mentioned before, they have definitely said that they would return those items but they haven't given a time frame when they would so. At this point would not surprise me if they did so 7.0 (Dawntrail Expansion) onward.
They said past "series" rewards would return. Not feast rewards, Only series CC rewards :P
I'm still waiting for the series rewards before I start worrying about seasonal ones. I didn't even know there was a battlepass I could have been participating in until the 4th one. Which sucks cause I missed out on an emote I've been wanting ever since I started seeing it being used in the MSQ by my character.
Exactly. Though FFXIV subreddit and other who translated it, interpreted it in a way during that time, which made it sound like they mean old seasonal Feast rewards, but they didn't. What they could have meant, and what they already did was to include the achievement rewards (minions, titles) and non-primary seasonal rewards (accessoirces Diamond-Wolfring or whatever its called etc.) into this new mode, so they are not lost.
I would just keep pressing them about these "series" battlepass things, the way it was advertised was, that it doesn't matter when you start, you can just do them at your own time and get the rewards whenever. And about that they clearly strayed away from what they said, leaving the community with some ??? on when they come back. Would have been too nice to do one battle pass after the next, instead of having to sub every other month for it.
I can't find a source on them saying "past pvp series malmstone rewards would return" either though, and looking at the LL previewing 6.1 (the pvp overhaul and first series) they seem to have just mentioned the fact that you can still collect unclaimed malmstone rewards from the previous series once the current one ends.
Hopefully someone can correct me on this, otherwise it seems this was another case of lost in translation/broken telephone effect.
As someone who has all series rewards, bring em back for sure, put em on the moogletome event or something, people should be able to enjoy the scarce additions that is pvp rewards, not be locked away from.

The translator said 1 time instead of series, 'seasons'. Which created the confusion of people thinking they meant Feast Seasons. Series reward on the other hand, do seem to come back according to the slide.
I don't see any reason why Feast rewards couldn't come back. Some of them are 4 - 6 years old now. Even ultimates lose prestige over time. But I digress, I know the PVP community is hellbent on keeping them exclusive for all eternity even if some of them aren't actively using those rewards anymore or even have quit the game.
Since you are so certain about you "knowing the pvp community being hellbent on keeping them exclusive for all eternity" you'd also have read the countless explanations of why you literally cannot compare it to Ultimates.
First of all, quick lesson for you.
PvE Ultimate difficulty is a challenge, the enemy is a scripted high-difficulty AI, the items you receive are rewards. A challenge against an AI does not require an end to qualify them for said reward.
PvP Top 100 is a competition, the enemy is other players fighting for spots on the leaderboard, NOT a scripted high-difficulty AI, the items you receive are trophies. A competition requires an eventual end to lock the seasonal bests into qualify them. The reason Top 100 exists isn't to bully newbies with rewards they may never get, it is to encourage fiercer competition. You can call it FOMO if it makes your day happier.
This is PvE Ultimate vs PvP Top 100 in a nutshell. They are in every aspect literally incomparable.
Now, I'd kindly ask you to stop projecting what Yoshida will likely answer when asked about this topic as what we want for those rewards. Yoshida doesn't want to rerelease them to preserve the uniqueness for those who earned it, which is a valid argument.
We do not mind the gearsets and mounts being rereleased - we simply want whatever gets rereleased not be a carbon copy to the original. This would be as simple as adding a "Replica" in the name, or adding our rank number in the original pieces, hell making them blue or purple item quality would do too. We simply want what we have to be possible to be told apart feom others in a tooltip, everything else can stay the same from colour to dyeability.
In the western playerbase we do not mind replicas existing - put up that fight with the japanese playerbase and ask how they feel about the value of exclusivity, thank you very much and have a good day.
If it makes you happier that they add replica to the armor than fine, do so. They did it with Mog station outfits and again with relic weapons. But I've never really known a person to pay attention to details like that because after a while they are all eventually treated one and the same. Basically what I'm saying is the moment a replica is created in the first place, the prestige is lost.
This generation MMO players will never understand how cool it used to be when you saw someone in town with an Excalibur, a Ridill, or an Adaman Hauberk. I really think the 'must have everything I want' attitude has removed a lot of the epic in MMO gaming these days. I remember spotting a RDM in FFXI with the famed AF2 hat that never dropped and thinking damn that dudes a boss. These days you see something walking around with a "Ultimate" weapon every few paces and somehow everyone has a masterwork sword on hand. I miss when it was just cool to see someone with a Thunderfury in the wild.
If you know I frequent these forums then you should also know that I used to be the type of person that stubbornly refused any and all suggestions to make the Feast stuff available even before I owned one. I changed over time which is why my stance is like this - not minding replica / rerelease.
Arguing with me is not effort falling on deaf ears, I simply need more than "because I said so" or some half-baked argument to be convinced.
Frankly if you aren't here to argue and defend your point after someone told you that we aren't what you try to project us to be then I don't know what your whole point was besides stirring the pot.
To be fair, given that there are precious few people per data center owning those armors or mounts, and given that perhaps even fewer of those people use those items at all time, I have little reason to see why they would have to release them as separate items. For one there is already enough item bloat as it is(and believe me, I cringe every time when a new dungeon set is a recolor of some old tomestone one) to justify re-releasing several sets with such miniscule differences. Besides, would an average joe even care enough to go out of its way to inspect someone just to tell if they are wearing original or a replica, or would they think “whoa cool armor” and move on? Or would you go out of your way to explain to everyone who asks where to get it that what you are wearing is a very special and limited original item, and they at best can get some “replica” because they missed out on some hardcore one of the time pvp mode?
Which is fine if that is the case - however then at very least it would be nice if you don't generalize us as "the PvP community" because as is clearly evident, there are many of us that do not share this idea whereas there are also many that are as you described. My main issue was how you generalized us.
You don't see everyone who owns the original "White Ravens" earrings all the time either which is an original reward from 1.0. Players are free to choose their appearance as they please.
The issue for rereleasing original high-tier rewards such as "White Ravens" or The Feast Top 100 items with zero difference to those who obtained it with the original method is that it essentially invalidates part of what makes these items so special, because now you can no longer tell apart who owns the original and who owns the replica. To my knowledge this caused quite an uproar at one of the original "The Rising" events where the original "White Ravens" mistakenly got put as the reward instead of a replica version.
People care for the authenticity of their achievement. A not so unsignificant part would be okay if people get to have something that looks 100% like what they own but isn't the same item. That's the simple principle.
I think the best halfway point would be to give undyeable versions of the armor out. Maybe for some token that you can only get from top 100. Though Crystal conflict isn't really comparable even at crystal level.
On the one hand I don't really care if people can get our armor, on the other hand I think a lot of us went through a lot in the old seasons to fight against the situations we were put in, and there's nothing really comparable to it today.
That being said, considering what Yoshida has said in the past, and how the white ravens event went. It's very unlikely they would give our armor out in some other way again regardless of how we feel about it, he's said before he doesn't plan to release the sets again.
I missed two armor sets myself, so I understand wanting those sets you missed. At the same time I can understand how people feel about the challenges they faced to obtain their sets.
just make them jost a shit ton of crystals or collars so its still a nightmare grind, easy
Just make Recolors of old and keep adding new stuff.
Upgradeable Hellhound Armor set would be really nice long term goal.
If I had to guess\hope, they will bring back previous season's stuff around 1 year later like they add previous seasonal stuff to the Mogstation a year later? That said, you still can't even buy season 1's Archfiend' set yet. Do hope they get around to this eventually... I'm missing the Rubellite Weapon minion :(
