the ability to sleep on benches. i refuse to leave limsa not even for sleep
1.0 restored....
Just kidding!
;)
Seriously though, I'd bring Path Companions back - that is the one thing from 1.0 I miss the most.
Oh, and make whinning about Venat a bannable offence.
I would add an extra furry race. Something like Hrothgar, but less bara. It would probably be the Burmecians. Rat people would be adorable, but unliike the Burmecians in IX, I would make them TINY. Somewhere between Lalafell and female Au'ra, but not more than half between. They would be a new small race, and it would be AMAZING. I'd tie them to Meracydia, and make it so that they were once part of a thriving secret city state civilization, but were wiped out recently, and have since migrated. That would be my lore excuse. >o<
Then one day we'd return, and get to explore the fallen tree city in Meracydia.
A glamour catalogue. Please for the love of Christ SE add a glamour catalogue.
Small thing, but you know how they put a check mark on items such as minions or orchestrion rolls if you've already learned them? I wish there was a similar kind of symbol to let you know that a piece of gear was already in your glamour dresser. It just gets annoying having to go all the way to an inn room to see if I have something that looks neat first before realizing I already have it (or maybe multiple versions of it)...would be nice to know right away if I need to make that trip or can safely desynth or turn it in to the GC.
No job level cap.
ARR only server will full loot world pvp.
Revert the changes to arcanist to it's SB state.
If I could add anything to this game with no restrictions.... I'll name three if thats ok with anyone
-Bring back old astro, sch
-Better instance apartment options like large medium and small instance can be done like condos and pent house options but u have to pay over time is you want that upgrade
-Island sanctuary should have built in mini games and fates that offer currency and exp :D
The xp you get from MSQ is certifiably insane. Reduce the xp you get from MSQ by 25% or so, but have side quests give ten times as much as they do now. Playing through an MMO where all the side quests are obsolete trash content to be rushed past and ignored makes the overall experience feel cheap and sad. It just sends the message that every zone you're in doesn't matter, it should be skipped, it's old bad content, don't even look at it. Who wants to play a game that feels like that!?
Some of the side quests are pretty neat! They have cool story bits, interesting lore about the world, or else just make you feel more connected to the place you're in. It makes the game more immersive, and lets you feel like you actively EARNED your experience rather than were just given it by some fast-track progression path. Plus, it would make leveling alt jobs smoother.
Bump up the xp from Fates as well.
Also: when a player is still progressing MSQ, and they've reached the level cap for whatever content they're in (50 for ARR, 60 for Heavensward, etc.) lock their level progression and don't let them over-level the content. There's no need for it, and it leads to some ridiculous situations like players getting locked out of roulettes or else being way too powerful for solo and open world content. For ARR and Heavensward at least, they don't even get access to new spells and skills anyway because they can't do their job quests. There is no benefit. I was level 90 before I was done Shadowbringers. It was stupid, and it made me not want to play my main job.
Actual hard modes for ARR through EW dungeons with spicier mechanics on the trash/bosses.
Perhaps not quite on the Criterion "one mistake and you wipe" level, but enough to make you feel like you need to actually pay attention and use your cooldowns properly, have kill priorities on trash mobs, etc.
1) one datacenter.
2) extra high level dps spells for Conjurer, like Stone 4 idk, kinda dumb to have poor dps performance, and be forced to switch to annoying whm, with awful style and lore.
Unrestricted glamour; excluding weapons.
MSQ exp is fine, it's been this way since 5.3 and the game is far better for it. Side quests are, for the most part, obsolete trash in this game and the few that are actually worth doing the game lets you know. If anything there should be less side quests as 80% of them are filler that waste resources and don't respect the player's time.
Soulsborne-levels of difficulty in all content. By this I mean your classic curve where it begins down at Margit levels of difficulty and grows steadily throughout the game. By MSQ's end you would be dealing with difficulty at or near that of the Elden Beast. For endgame the scale would begin at around Nameless King levels of absurdity and scale right up until you're getting the full Orphan of Kos experience.
It's this! But setting aside that extremely obvious answer, I'd like more content open to blue mage. Specifically, blues let into deep dungeons, exploratory zones (though I'd be fine with them being barred from BA/DR:S), and a blue roulette that functions like mentor roulette but for blue mages. Also let into VC/Criterion later on down the line when the cap goes up to 90.
Midcore content
Im going to die on this hill for the sake of everyone playing this game,
a better netcode. Movement refreshrate/positionals etc. and castbars that are actually realtime. The whole nine yards.
Make this game the undisputed best on the market.
*Insert inevitable comment pertaining to wanting Kaiten back here*
My choice would be the already-mentioned Unrestricted Glamour (bar weapons). I mean, you can queue random and end up with a team which looks like this:
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...04a065fb5fc69&
which makes a complete mockery of the restrictions anyway!
A fully customisable Relic, by which I mean you can alter looks as well as stats, which includes, but not limited to different styles of weapons, unrestricted colours, changing glows and the glow colour. This is just so that every relic can be more unique looks wise for each person.
Even just allowing you to change the colour of the glow would be a big step up.
I would totally overhaul the glamour system. Make it something like the transmog system from WoW, where if you get an item for the first time you unlock its appearance permanently. No fiddling with glamour dresser storage or anything like that. With that comes an appearance tab thing where you can look through all of the appearances and piece together your ideal glam to give you something to work towards.
If that counts as more than one change then sue me idk
I'd really like to see an unrestricted character creator to mix and match from other races too - now that'd be fun to experiment with (and ofc coupled with unrestricted glamours haha)
Without any limitations? Massive amount of dev resources into player centric modes and their updates. PvP and Mahjong are already pretty solid but Lords of Verminion and Chocobo racing are REALLY outdated. Maybe even new game modes that use collectables like TT cards, Orchestrions, Minions and Mounts to encourage people to collect, even sightseeing log or fishing stuff could be used as base for something. If done properly, these would be extremely replayable content that could help with the end of patch moments where people don't have all that much to do.
If I had to choose addition that is more reasonable, then I would add more PvP and Mahjong rewards. Mahjong could easily use Top 100, give plenty of MGP for general playing (since the games tend to go kinda long) and maybe have slightly more adjustment to Rank based on the final score instead of pure finishing postion (tentative, more experienced people should be referred wheter this one is good or not). PvP itself is on right track, CC is quite good despite the netcode being what it is, Rival Wings deserves a roulette and Frontline rework is on the horizon with 7.0.
I would add things like PvP Relics that cover all the game modes in some ways, new set of hellhound weapons and hellhound armor set to spend collars on (and commedation crystals to upgrade, imagine the hellhound set getting more magnificent the more pieces you augment with these, having the final full set being a great longterm goal and something to flaunt) and open up more things to be bought with Wolf Marks and Trophy Crystals. Just adding Hunt stuff to their Vendors or even a new ranked currency that covers all the ranks but scales based on the final rank as alternative way to obtain some rewards from other content would be great.
If I had to go minimalistic in the additions, I would just add recolors from PvP Series rewards into Reaching X Ranks (ie. first recolor at Platinum or Diamond and second at Crystal or Top 100), allowing everyone to get the base version but encouraging people to play Ranked for alternate colors (this includes Mounts and the PvP set mainly, maybe minions?) also increasing the overall rewards for winning or losing enough to make Ranked appealing option to grind instead of Casual.
Remove class restrictions on glamour.
If I could have two things, add a "wig" slot on glamour plates.
Came here just to agree with this (and your other point, frankly). I do find it incredibly odd how there hasn't even been a mention of the path companion, much less a reunion. With the shape the story has taken, someone who has been on the exact same ride as you from day one and who you can confide in wholeheartedly would add a lot to the overall narrative. I could even see something like Divinity: Original Sin, where your two player characters can have different relationships and interactions as the story goes on, which is where I thought they were going with it in 1.0, but alas...
I would do 3 things
Rework the ilvl sync so that it constantly gives challenge and that you can also use later movesets at reduced potency
Rework crafting and gathering and make them much more involved like bringing expert style recipes into the base and making expert even more challenging...really reward those that go for it and make it less macro dependent...this also stems in the levelling of those jobs being much slower because now they are a joke.
Introduce Bozja style critical engagements to the open world...have them per expansion and have them even offer Bicolors or another currency and make the items rewarded grindy in a sense it would take doing a fair few to unlock 1 thing for instance...this would allow for people to engage with the world zones much more.
My small thing would be a change to beast tribe quests for older expansions (at least a higher number per day for those expansions)
I'm playing catch-up on trying to unlock everything, and the amount of time it takes to level the older content up is insane. Keep newer content at the same pace, but allow a catch up mechanic for those who want to catch up on older content.
Glamour without restrictions, naturally.
... but I'd also bring Minfilia back, if I could.
Remove job restrictions from gear when used as glam.
To be able to glamour whatever gear together regardless if its a combat job or hand or land.
The only identity thing a job has is its weapon and even that is debatable with certain weapons that muddy the identity further. Like if the white mage wears one of the pvp milestone armor sets (which look like tank armor to be honest), with gaia's hammer from the shop, they can look like a warrior.
This is 1000% unrealistic and would take up too much resources, would be even unbalanced most likely.
But I'd add specs to classes (Such as DPS warrior, Healer pld, tank Samurai ect).
Obviously this would take so much effort for something that's really unbalanced, but I know I'd enjoy it even with how unbalanced it would be.
Anything else I could add outside this
>Selectable role actions. (Not like stormblood) but where you would select 1 out of 3 similar actions in one category (such as rampart with 3 variations).
>reworked melding, to be more interesting
>Add raid buffs that aren't 120
In general I just would try to make the job design direction go into a different place, current job design feels watered down and bland and is my main issue with the current game, I want them to take more risks with job design as that's more *fun*
