Alliance Raid roulette - what did you get?

List here what Alliance Raid you get when you use the Alliance roulette so we can see how effective the new item level change is in practice. Please mention the job level that you used as well.

Many players are working on Myths of the Realm at the moment so that should be expected to appear somewhat frequently if you're using a level 90 job.

It will take a few weeks to get a large enough sample to get a good idea of how effective it is so don't take week one reports as representative of the long term effect. Has it had the impact you hoped for or are you still getting CT far too often for your liking?

I've run 3 AR since patchday and my spread was:

Ridorana (queued as lvl 82 SCH)
Copied Factory (as lvl 90 AST)
Aglaia (lvl 90, don't recall job atm)

And then there's me. Still trapped in Crystal Tower purgatory ;-;

1xAglaia + 3x CT

Played on lvl 90 smn, pld and whm.

Edit: seems more of the same to me. This was an early evening queue. I should try later queues next week as I usually (pre patch) have a decent ratio of Ivalice and Nier raids pop a bit later while I get more CT early evening.

I also think that we have to wait a little bit to see the difference. Atm many are queuing Myth of the Realms for tokens.

I've had little time since the update so I've only done two. Both times crystal tower. All sprouts and first timers. Me trying to get all the sheep in the pen.

You will still get CT often;
Because it's needed to progress the MSQ story,
its the alliance raid everyone has unlocked.

I got it again today. 10 people left seeing they got crystal tower.

Told you all nothing would change because crystal tower was mandatory.

From the Roulette: 2x Myths of the Realm (Aglaia), 1x Ivalice (Ridorana), 2x Nier (Paradigm + Abandoned Factory), 1 Mhach (Void Ark), 2 CT (Syrcus Tower + World of Darkness).

Compared to before, I'm seeing less CT raids, but they're still present because of new players. So far, the difference is more noticeable and the change to the roulette definitely had a strong impact on my end. Might have to try with more different alts as well for a more accurate statistic.

I did notice a lot more people saying apologies for not expecting to get Aglaia based on their ILVL and after inspecting their ILVL (they have ILV ~560 gear) I realize that people really didn't know how low Aglaia's ILVL was on release...

tried twice, and got Aglaia both times. I guess because of people needing coins

Crystal Tower is still predominately stronger but it's a little more varied than it use to be.

Between my main and an alt, both done with a job at 90, I got:

2x Syrcus Tower
2x World of Darkness
1x Weeping City of Mhach
1x Dun Scaith
1x Rabanastre
1x Copied Factory
1x Paradigm's Breach
1x Euphrosyne

Way more varied than usual, even though I got the expected fair amount of CT. I'm just glad I don't get to see a random catgirl's health shoot up the instant I load into LotA anymore

All as 90 machinist, I've had two Aglaia, a Paradigm's Breach, a Ridoranna, and a Dun Scaith.

I'd rather do a CT run in 15 mins than wait 30 mins of penalty just to potentially get CT again /shrug

We all knew it wouldn't impact the frequency of getting Crystal Tower. That wasn't the point of the change. It was to eliminate ilevel cheesing; getting Crystal Tower not because a sprout/first timer queued for their MSQ but because a lazy level 90 stripped naked to guarantee content where they could auto attack for 15m. Statistically it should also have the added effect of making queues for all the other alliance raids shorter. They also improved the scaling of rewards so you are remunerated for the time investment in a higher level alliance raid. All in all it's a good change.

I had stopped running alliance roulette for a long time, but I've done it for 3 days this week and got World of Darkness 1x, Aglaia 1x and Paradigm's Breach 1x.

So far I've had

2 Euphrosyne
2 Weeping City
1 Orbonne
1 Ridorana
1 Paradigm Tower
1 Puppet's bunker

I'd say so far this has been great.

However, people who stripped down got the blame for the crystal tower frequency. My point was that they were never a statistic. Unless 23 other people also stripped down...

I personally feel fine knowing with 100% certainty that if I get Crystal Tower now it's because someone actively queued for it. It's not because ilevel cheesers made it impossible for the roulette to pick anything else. iLevel cheesers were an easy scapegoat, it's true, but the roulette actually fulfilling its purpose by matching players with others trying to complete specific content for the first time is exactly what we want. The added bonuses that actually make the 30-40 minute 70+ raids rewarding for the time investment are a wonderful addition.

Me personally I can't ever recall seeing iLvL cheezing in the first place. Every time I ended up in Crystal Tower I was always seeing one to 3 people in cutscene.

Got Syrcus Tower yesterday, but today was Rabanastre.

I'm not saying it was the most common reason to get CT, but I did see players quickly re-equip pants or tops as soon as we loaded in a few times. I also made it a bit of a habit to check if there were any first time bonuses back in ShB when I was farming relics. iLevel cheesing was common enough that I think this solution needed to be implemented.

on 90 Warrior and 90 reaper I have had 2nd EW raid, one of the SB raids, Nier raid and the last two days I had the 2nd EW raid again.

I think I've only gotten CT the last few days. 2 Syrcus and I think 1 WoD.

Ran it 4 times. 2 CT (Labyrinth), 1 Nier, 1 Aglaia

It's a vast improvement over 4 CT.

I've gotten a mix of stuff: Ridorana Lighthouse, Aglaia, Weeping City of Mhach, etc.

Since the change I've only seen a Crystal Tower raid once, and it was the only time I can really remember when Syrcus Tower got kind of chaotic. People didn't seem to know mechanics, got killed, there was some tank weirdness going on.

We won't get Crystal Tower due to item level cheese anymore, but when we do get it I think it will bring a higher percentage of newbies. Gonna be interesting!

Puppet Bunker (second time doing this one, never get it after I unlocked it)

Yeah from the times i ran roullies i got ct 50% of the time, rest where dun scaith (I haven't gotten any storm blood ones yet but with time i am sure one will pop up! shadowbringers i haven't unlocked those yet since not far enough in msq for those, altough am close could if i push msq mayby unlock them this week!)

Edit: I am still of the opinion tough that they should also put a extra check in that also checks for msq progression also if you can have others unlocked and need them for the roullete Cause while it is better now, i can see it getting worse again slowly over the years since the others don't have to be unlocked to do roullete, so with new players streaming in any that want to cheese the system then just have to not unlock other raids. Something most ilvl cheesers had! MIght be pessemistic of me, but i can see the % slowly start creeping upwards for ct again in the next 3-5 years I hope i am proven wrong tough.

Lighthouse, weeping city, wod, aglia and circus. It’s made more impact than I was expecting with this admittedly small sample size.

7 roulettes, all Nier. It's gotten to the point of auto leaving now.

Alliance Raid Roulette, and what did I get?

Another day older, and deeper in debt.

I’ve ran it a few times. I got Aglaia twice, Crystal Tower Twice & Void Ark once. It definitely made a difference, although now I have to suffer through a couple of raids I hate, but it’s all good. The rest of the raid will have to suffer through my bumbling as I try to remember how these go as it’s been a while for a few of these. Some of the raids I was one and done as I didn’t care for the gear, so I’m really novice-like on a couple of these, especially Aglaia and the last one of the Neir raids. I did those only once before this fix. All the others I was OK with them.

Over the last week, I've gotten...

And not a single Sycrus or LotA, thank god.

Anecdotally, it seems to be working in my favor so far.

I couldn’t care less about those tomes on my main which is lvl 90 with all jobs at 90, already in average 650 each and all Manderville weapons collected and upgraded. I have no use for those tomes and merely buy top soil with poetics and mats with Causality for reselling when I cap. What else can I do with tomes of causality? Nothing. As for tomes of Comedy, they have a 450 weekly cap…I’m sure I am not the only one who doesn’t care about getting more of those tomes for doing longer raids.

After trying the new roulette a few times out of curiosity, I only queue directly for the latest raid for the 660 token for a few pieces, the cards (still no luck) and the minion (lost on a 98 roll). If I queue for roulette again, it will be for fun with friends, not for the tomes.

I feel you. I'm 660 bis on 3 jobs and almost bis on 3 others. I don't need tomes either. Nothing wrong with not running alliance roulette - I only run it with friends who are still regularly leveling jobs. This week I did run it a few times alone just out of curiousity at what I would get.

I have been trapped in Orbonne Monastery for days. I'm low on supplies, and some pointy dude with extra arms keeps trying to talk to me about the hearts of men. I think he might be a Jenova's Witness or something.

Send a recovery team before it's too late.

12 weekly tomes for 40 minutes in the best case scenario isn't a hefty boost. The XP boost isn't even that good either compared to just doing regular dungeons.
