is there a way to turn this off? it is driving me crazy. thank you.

They do respond there. But a lot of people use that section for questions that aren't technical.

They mean technical as in client or server bugs, technical issues. Not like, questions on game functions.

Hello, can you just turn off inactivity settings for when you go afk? System configuration settings > other. Else there are mouse settings there as well to explore. Cannot remember if it's that or character configuration (not home to check so leaving it vague)

technical issues are reserved for things like bugs and things that actually make the game unplayable.
that's why it got moved to general discussion.
