Reapers of Eorzea, What is your wishlist for the 7.0 for the class ?

Hello everyone.

As the time passes, the 7.0 is approaching. We still don't have any clue on what change we will see on different classes. I've seen many post about other class, but very few about Reaper.

Here's the question : What would you like to see added on the reaper game play ?

You don't have to be correct with math, this is just to throw a bunch of idea and see where we can go.

One thing I'd like to see would be some of Zenos move set he had in the final battle, but remastered slightly of course like Wyrm's Tongue (When Zenos says "Mine for the Taking !" the first time) which is a Large Conal AoE. The animation consist of the Reaper backing off a little, then rush forward. I don't know where to put that tho...

Maybe a Single target version of Communio which ressemble the "A Test of your reflexes !" line of Zenos, where he throw the scythe into the air, jump to grab it and slam it downward

And why not the sort of combo Zenos do when he force you down one time after his fusion with the avatar called "Thorns"

I don't ask for everything at once of course.

I think that "A Test of your reflexes" would be a good counter part of Communio.

Thorns could replace two attacks of our base combo when we are in Enshroud phase.

Which would lead to something like Cross Reaping -> Void Reaping -> Thorns 1 -> Thorns 2 -> "A Test of your Reflexes" (That's only an exemple, and attacks could be unleashed in whatever order you see fit, giving a stacks of "Shroud Reaping" up to 4 stacks. You won't get a stack if you use the same attack twice. Each attack give you 1 stack and hit stronger with each stack. The final attack use the 4 stack to deal more damage, like a true Finisher

That would make the combo "non repetitive" and grow in strength.

So what's your ideas boys ?

Thank you for posting this, I was thinking about resurrecting the Reaper Megathread for a while now to discuss 7.0 ideas.

I think the core gameplay needs to remain relatively intact, because the decisions around double/triple Enshroud are interesting, and the tuning around gauge generation is really well done. Reaper is one of the few jobs at the moment where the resource management doesn't feel like just a glamorized timer, primarily because you have the gauge space to 'store' a one-minute burst window for later for things like tincture or specific mechanics like Everburn. As such, there aren't a lot of changes required here, it's more about refining the existing gameplay.

It would be nice if there was a way to improve the strength of the opener to allow for an early double Enshroud, to bring it on par with the subsequent Arcane Circle windows. Timer-dependent jobs don't really have this 'ramping up' issue. I'm not entirely sure what the solution to this is, however, because you'd need an adjustment that affects Shroud generation in the opener and nothing else. Adding gauge to Harvest Moon is a possibility here, but you don't really want a situation where it's more beneficial to channel Soulsow than maintain uptime directly.

Harvest Moon itself is a bit of an awkward one. It's fun channeling it during downtime mechanics to generate extra casts (i.e. limit cut), but it seems to be of marginal benefit because most fights are designed with full uptime in mind. Maybe it just needs to be an oGCD rather than a Spell.

There's probably some benefit to allowing charges on Gluttony for drift purposes, but you also don't want to end up with a double Gluttony opener with like six positionals in a row. Perhaps have the action start on one charge on pull and have it tick up to a maximum of two.

I'd like to see actions that relate to space-time effects in Void magic. E12S provides a lot of good inspiration for this, with delayed effects (Spell-in-Waiting). It might be fun to have a multi-hit attack that lets you teleport around multiple times. I'd also like to see them play around with the idea of partially merging with your avatar. Perhaps sprout some wings to temporarily increase your base movement speed or glide around the arena. Additional movement abilities are always welcome on melee, and I think a lot of the fun of this job comes from it having really enjoyable movement.

If they get the time when they're doing the graphical overhaul, I hope they also fix the ears on Enshroud. You really need to have ears on the hoods for the Void Rabbits.

Lastly, I'd like them to do something purely for flavor and not have it count towards the total new action count. They played around with the idea of having you transform into a flying mount for the Rising, and it's a nice idea. I'd like to be able to transform into a Voidsent and just fly around, just as a job-specific out of combat action.

Summary:

• Keep core rotation relatively intact.
• Build in an additional 50 Shroud into opener only to allow for early Double Enshroud.
• Make Harvest Moon oGCD.
• Give Gluttony a second charge but make it start at one charge on entering combat.
• Multi-hit attacks featuring more portal magic.
• Movement speed buffing action featuring partial voidsent transformation with wings.
• Fix bunny ears on Void Rabbits.
• Out of combat job-specific voidsent transformation that lets you fly around. Doesn't count towards the new action total.

Although it does 600 Potency damage, it not really a loss if you don't use it over a fight of 10 minutes (You don't see any big difference cause that would be a 0.5 Potency loss over 600 seconds if you pull with Harpe instead, which is not worth mentionning). Using Harvest Moon as a oGCD seems a good way to boost up the RPR a little and make it even more aggressive, I like that.

As for the opener, I don't know how you could double shroud right off the bat without breaking balance somewhere... That will be troublesome to fix.



And for a special note, the out of combat Job-specific transformation could be almost done with every class. So I'd prefer to have a "mount" that allow us to transform (Just like the 10th Anniversary Phenix) but without blowing inside our horns. Maybe something more "Transformation like". But that's for another thread. I will surely open one for Mount maybe ?

Stop making abilities like old school chakra, shoha, and harvest moon. If the ability is not used regularly during combat, just stop your design process right there and go back to the drawing board.

Also I'd be mostly okay on giving all classes with resources built up over the fight more resources at start. Working on TOP right now, Dragoon is just garbage in the opener because it can't use life of the dragon, and while not nearly as bad on reaper, it's still a valid concern. That said, I don't think reaper has it bad enough to truly justify giving more bar to do a double opener. I'd rather attention went elsewhere in the class, such as potentially removing the 2 'of death' abilities because they're just boring pseudo-dots that is more annoying than interesting. That and it would make room for a redesigned harvest moon right then and there.

Death's Design is interesting because of how it interacts with Double Enshroud. Because you need it for filler GCDs in the setup, you can only enter into it when you're under 8 seconds or so on the timer, or else you lose potency. That interplay itself makes it significantly better designed than most of the single issue DoTs on other jobs. That's one of the parts of the job that I don't want altered unless they want to add additional layers to it.

Your post does bring up a really simple solution for Harvest Moon that I hadn't considered, though. Just give Soul Sow a timer. When the timer elapses, it turns into Harvest Moon on its own. If you press the Soul Sow button to channel the ability as before, it accelerates the timer so that it ticks down faster. Now it has a set number of uses in a fight, but if the fight has any downtime mechanics you are rewarded for weaving channel time to generate extra uses. You could probably even attach some gauge to the action then, and perhaps allow for a Double Enshroud opener.

On the earlier point about out-of-combat actions: I think they would add a lot of additional flavor to the jobs, and would be fun as long as they don't count towards the total new action budget. They don't have to be mount effects necessarily, and you really only look to Dungeon and Dragons' cantrips for inspiration. It's also a way of getting some of the more unusual Final Fantasy spells into the game, like Float and Warp. You could even have something to evade combat, like perhaps bringing Smoke Screen back as a way of reducing aggro ranges on mobs out of combat. That could have impact on Exploratory content and Deep Dungeons.

EVeryone here has really good ideas, so I honestly got no ideas I could provide at this point, but my only criticism is for this one:

I find it incredibly lazy to add ST versions of AOE skills that you already use in your ST rotation / flow. The general formula when designing them like this is:

• Add new ST skill with higher potency but with shared restriction / cooldown / cost of a former multi-purpose skill (instead of decoupling them)
• Add new AOE skill with potency only worth at 3+ targets but with shared restriction / cooldown / cost of a ST skill (instead of making the ST have cleave, see Expiacion)

There was a novelty with such skills when they were 2-target efficient, which gave additional ways to optimize in fights like The Epic of Alexander (in ShB) depending on the strat you used to position your two bosses. Since Endwalker, the amount of 2-target efficient skills has dwindled immensely, half intentionally and half unintentionally (I assume the Xenoglossy buff on BLM did not keep Foul in mind) and the amount of fights even making use of AOE skills went down the gutter. Because of this, AOE skills have basically become trash-only with rare exceptions like twice per expansion. This a short list of skills that are affected by this game design:

Making Enshroud more interesting, I'm game with that. But ST "Communio" is just peak lazy that I hope SE doesn't do.

But sometimes, stupid idea can give other people a great idea because they can base their own on that. That's why this subject is here.

Your sheet on those 5 jobs is great. And it's a great argument you brought up here, allowing even more idea to avoid that kind of pattern once again.

To continue on the subject, how about we get something like an upgraded basic combo 1-2-3 based on Gluttony who provide 3 stacks of Soul Reaver instead of two.

Allowing for an improved 60 sec mini-burst maybe ? (I do understand that could be too much inside the Two-minute burst window tho...)

As for double enshroud in general, I'm not sure what my opinion of it is. On the one hand, I like when players create stupid designs and nonstandard rotations. On the other hand, it presents a serious (enough) balance concern and makes it harder to actually balance the class, as well as potentially boosting the damage well above what's expected. My favorite example of this is demi-bahamut from stormblood, where players found out using things like addle or swiftcast would allow you to go from 8 expected wyrmwaves to 11, and the dev's response was nerfing wyrmwave damage by ~30 potency, simultaneously necessitating nonstandard play and harming anyone not using it.

Such a change would take a little off the top of the skill ceiling, but also lower the skill floor enough to make it at least like Kaiten, where mains grumble but the class is in a healthier state overall. Especially when the class appears to be intended to only single enshroud the 2m burst, as evidenced by the 15s cooldown on an buffs that last 20 seconds and ~8 seconds to fully cast. If anyone has seen me on black mage, I despise nonstandard play in general for its serious balance and class design concerns that nonstandard brings up, but I would rate such a change as: "This is low priority, work on other things first," since the gain isn't in the same order of magnitude as summoners abusing snapshotting in HW.

There's nothing wrong with Death's Design. If you don't like upkeep effects, that's just a personal preference, and perhaps the upcoming DRG rework will cater to such an audience. Death's Design would be perfectly fine even if it didn't interact with anything else. But it does, and I'd like to see that interaction stay. You can use HM as a filler GCD even now, if you mess up the timers. I don't think that this needs to be simplified further.

Double and Triple Enshroud are part of the job design. Older jobs were designed such that your gauge capacity only allowed enough space for a single burst window. This meant that jobs with resource-based burst were functionally just timer-based burst jobs in disguise. The Shroud gauge didn't ever need to be more than 50. The fact that it goes to 100 is what allows for more situational control over how players execute their burst, depending on the encounter. I expect that a lot of newer jobs going forward are going to incorporate ideas from this.

And if it's not your thing, you can still always play freestyle if you're looking for a more comfy experience. As long as the skill differential doesn't translate into a big performance differential, that's fine. Skill gaps are more a 'balance' problem on jobs like BLM, where there's a sizable dps gap between skilled players and weaker ones. I expect that that should be a much bigger focus for the dev team's review, rather than going out of your way to break a job design that the community is actually positive about.

Double enshroud maybe, but there is no way triple enshroud is an intended way to play the game and is absolutely going to get axed in Dawntrail. It's very obvious this is a not-intended way to play the job giving the shenanigans involved and SE has repeatedly gone out of their way to lower skill ceilings resulting from janky or unintuitive play. It's why I'm 100% expecting them to tack on a Communio follow-up as Reaper's level 100 ability. It doesn't completely break getting 2 Communios under your own buffs but it will block 3 from happening.

You have to understand about those types of actions. They were conceived of to give these Melee jobs something to use when they were forced into downtime. Entering HW, DRG originally had Piercing Talon and NIN had Throwing Dagger while MNK had nothing for GCDs to use while out of range. Thus, Form Shift and Chakra. Shoha was tied to Meditate which always existed for downtime during fights, as SAM got Enpi (them not wanting to revisit MNK's unique detriment). RPR likewise gets Harpe, but also gets Harvest Moon just to get something to do when there's no boss.

It doesn't build any special resources because it's not meant to be used as a cooldown. It exists beyond the 2 minute meta, and I think that's fine. Jobs should get situational tools like Harvest Moon, but then they just need the fight design to give them situations, which is where they're sorely lacking. Harvest Moon makes sense if we're playing RPR in a fight that has forced downtime or many opportunities where there's multiple targets. Those aren't the fights they put into the game anymore.

They don't have melee downtime anymore which is why it feels weird, especially now that PT, TD, Enpi and Harpe don't interrupt your combo anymore anyways, so there's even less of a reason for these tools to exist in terms of your bog standard 8 man encounter. Your Harvest Moons are way more fun and useful doing dungeons and FATEs though, like NIN using hide, you get plenty of chances to ready your extra actions.

Harvest Moon feeling bad is a symptom, not a cause. Making it into another Chakra or Shoha would be the predictable boring thing so they'll probably do it, cuz changing their fights to not have a single, giant target would be tougher to do.

I'd like a passive added to harvest moon where it refreshes death's design. It's a small thing, but if you get into a group with mid damage output overall, you may need to re-apply whorl of death and if you're down to 3ish monsters, it feels bad even if it's numerically sound, just because the potency on whorl is so low.

PS. I like Harvest Moon, I am glad to have a button to push during downtime. But I also like the chunky ae damage in dungeons.

See, that's a more fun idea I think, because even on a single target boss fight, now it has more interaction with the kit but the player has MORE decision making, not less: do I refresh DD with my Harvest Moon, or do I save it for when there's maybe multiple targets to hit (when they remember to put in bosses where that is a thing)? Both are good uses of the skill and you have to consider which one you want to do and you won't just get it back forever so the button supercedes DD in all cases past the first second of the encounter, or just another cooldown to hit during the 2 min.

All the tools keep revolving around the 2 min window because that's the only window they keep building. RPR is super fun fighting trash because it builds so much gauge when lots of stuff is dying, but they don't put that in probably because they're afraid of certain jobs outperforming others in certain situations, I guess? Instead of just making sure the worst job for the situation can still succeed and letting the lucky ones have fun.

My jobs split across 2 characters each expansion; one leveled/MSQ-progressed solo, one in time with a friend. All Fending, Maiming, and 1 of each other armor class except scouting on my main, while this one covers the rest. RPR was my 4th job capped across all chars/jobs, and probably my 4th most played DD.

I mention this only because we're apparently not allowed to post consistently from one character with less than all 90s, lest we believe --solely for lack of level 90 Savage experience on RPR... on the character posted from-- that, say, the ST | AoE division to Shadow/Whorl just feels like bloat, or that having downtime actions like Soulsow is fine, some part of which may count as "theorycrafting simplifications"?)

Tbf, both Chakra before Deep Meditation and Shoha on SAM before Iaijutsu generating stacks quite a bit more use.

Chakra had, at the time, the best non-melee range ppgcd of any melee, and was far more granular, to boot, allowing it to be weaved in at more opportunities than the likes of Piercing Talon or Throwing Daggers.

SAM's Mediate, meanwhile, wasn't nearly so all or nothing as Soulsow is presently on RPR.

And... all that being said... there's nothing wrong with downtime skills if jobs would otherwise be that much harder to balance among diverse contexts. I'll take the occasional Harvest Moon-like action over fights increasingly having no melee downtime, etc.

And Post already said above all I wanted to regarding applying Death's Design via Harvest Moon. I wouldn't mind giving it a bit of uptime-based generation, but, as has been suggested for SAM and MNK since they were added, I'd like to see that happen in a way that doesn't randomly make a waste of Soulsow itself.

See Meditate when already at 2 out of 3 stacks, meaning Meditate loses 373.3 potency generation just due to the timing over which SAM has no control beyond choice of GCD tier... and maybe, maybe, a desync from late Higan refresh to avoid a Hagakure. That's the kind of thing I'd like to avoid from Soulsow gaining generation over (up)time.

[Tangent] As for Harvest Moon becoming an oGCD... if it really helps along gauge sync that much, I wouldn't mind it, but I kinda like it being decently chunky in itself and offering at least that one GCD of ranged attack without loss, as per its being a GCD, and given that making it oGCD only hastens our loop by 1 GCD, that seems a very limited 'solution' to the issues it'd be meant to address.

I don't find either of those abilities particularly interesting, but I do think the job would be at least faintly worse without them.

That said, I wouldn't mind...

1. Consolidating Shadow and Whorl into a single form (e.g., of 300p to primary target and 100p to those nearby). Checking whether we can count to three is not a mechanic worth doubling a skill type's button costs over.
   
   (For a very similar reason, I wouldn't care for a separate single-target Communio-equivalent. It offers so little "complexity" that it just feels like a bad joke.)
   
   
2. Granting that combined skill a bit more range (e.g., 10 yalms max to target, current radius thereafter, or a 8y cone or a 10-yalms long and few-yalms wide linear AoE, etc.).
   
   
3. And maybe moving the gauge generation on kill to a passive, as Shadow/Whorl providing 10 gauge on kill encourages excess duration and makes use of Shadow/Whorl so greatly a default that it's hardly worth thinking about (it's always a DPS gain by 4+ GCDs) outside of overpopulated AoE FATEs, and it can feel a tiny bit "clunky" to use on a mob that will only live those 4 GCDs anyways.
   
   Instead, just have Shadow/Whorl's potency increase each time RPR's combo skills do (via Death Scythe Mastery I and II)... and perhaps even have the remaining duration and/or your overkill damage spread on kill when you land the finishing blow. That'd be plenty to keep it feeling worthwhile and interesting while feeling a bit less often chore-ish-ly obligatory against mobs with extremely low TTK.

Reaper isn't pressed for hotbar space the same way that a lot of older jobs are. Having a transformation action helps with this. If necessary, Communio need not have its own hotbar slot, and can share space with Harpe.

The suggestion to have HM add 30s to DD's timer is fine. It does take away a slight correction that you can do with filler GCDs going into Double Enshroud, but the people who recognize this are probably also unlikely to need to ever use it. I wouldn't consolidate or alter SoD or WoD. The Soul Gauge trait is more flavor than anything else, because we don't see add spawns in raid content. I would also recommend that you save your theorycrafting simplifications for jobs where the players are actually vocally complaining about the gameplay, like BLM.

The current job design is one of the best we have. Please resist the urge to tamper with things that are actually working really well (and perhaps actually level the job in question yourself first to see why that's the case).

This is true and also why it's so hard to come up with decent ideas. Just boring but obvious ones like a st version of communio, a communio followup, something like drg's Lance Mastery. A followup attack for Grim Harvest would be cool but mostly just so I get to see the full grim harvest animation in a context outside of PVP instead of clipping it with enshroud every time. But then if that followup ability also has a sick animation that i inevitably clip with enshroud it's like I can't win for losing!

Most unlikely to happen wish of them all: Avatar Glamour.

Choosing between 2 or 3 voidsent would be super cool.

A small rework to how plentiful harvest potency is increased, rather than obtaining only one stack from each person doing an attack gcd under arcane circle, everyone under arcane circle can generate multiple amounts of stacks up to a total of 8 for max potency. It'll be easier for reaper to obtain potentially 8 plentiful harvest stacks in dungeons but also more consistently in any form of group content.

Harvest moon grants 50 soul gauge on use (20 if too much but i like to dream hehe) or make it an OGCD

Harpe gives 10 soul gauge.

Gluttony gains an extra charge.
Gluttony reduces the next the next two weaponskill recasts to 1.5 seconds and removes the directional requirement.

This basically gives the double Enshroud cadence to the opener. Hitting two/four consecutive positionals within 1.5 seconds of eachother would be seriously annoying and require True North most of the time so TN will get baked into it.

80 capstone can be an additional step after Gluttony which helps even out the faster weaponskills.


So basically the opener will be a double Soul Sow with a late Arcane circle cast after the first Soul Sow into double Gluttony pseudo Enshroud with Plentiful Harvest acting as the first Communio.

Maybe during shroud, spending void units accrues green units, when you have 4 units, do an extra weaponskill. The extra weapon skill before the communio forces some time in between to use egress out of melee into a safer communio cast since communio is actually a ranged spell. This gives the opportunity to use the enhanced Harpe as well as Harvest Moon. Maybe using communio can enhance Harvest Moon as well. Then tele back to mob to reiterate the cycle.

(Void Reaping -> Cross Reaping -> Lemure Slice)x2 -> New Skill with 4x green orb cost -> egress -> communio -> enhanced Harvest Moon -> enhanced Harpe -> ingress.

This it what my combo looks like already (when their are no damagning AOEs outside melee range) so, I'm biased for a new skill that enhances the ranged end of the combo.

I'd be against building TN into Gluttony. Those bursts of back to back positionals are actually really fun. The workaround to Gluttony drift is to just have it start at one charge out of combat, but have a maximum capacity of two charges. The problem with starting at two charges is that you're not really going to get to Double Enshroud in time in your opener, even if they gave you tools to do so. The vast majority of jobs are driven by timers without real resource management, so they will set up their burst windows relatively quickly and you need to sync up with that. You don't really have time to delay five additional GCDs before starting burst. You'd nearly almost have to start off with the resources on entering combat.

You don't want to extend the length of your rotation during Double Enshroud, because you'll likely push your Communio out of the window. But if it's just for the 1 minute Enshroud, there are plenty of ways you can already add in an extra Weaponskill GCD to avoid clipping. You can SoD as filler at any point during Enshroud. You can also use HM the same way, if you like, although it's all a bit redundant in this sort of situation. I would avoid Enhanced Harpe in that case when you already have access to both HM and Communio, since it is still a potency loss if you have the option of melee uptime.

Just consolidate the combo skills into one button to reduce button bloat.

Enshroud > Communio
Arcane Circle > Plentiful Harvest
Hell's Ingress/ Hell's Egress > Egress

Regress should take both Ingress/Egress buttons instead of the opposite one you used.

Very well, as a FFXI DRK (Scythe) main and of course FFXIV RPR main here's what I think should happen in 7.0 with Reaper:

Note: at this point, the mere existence of the RPR in the game indicates that we will never get a Necromancer job. The Necromancer was also discarded in FFXI in favor of the PUP (Puppetmaster). One of the new jobs is Viper and the other is most likely Geomancer. Therefore, I say we should modify the job in order to satisfy those who would like a Necromancer.

• Avatar glamour, let us have Zero as avatar (Zenos' avatar).
• Add spell: Drain - Deals unaspected damage with a potency of 600 to target and absorbs part of the damage as HP | MP Cost: 3000 | Recast 0s. Casting time: 4s. Range: 25y.
• Add spell: Aspir - Absorbs target's MP | MP Cost: 0 | Recast: 45s. Casting time: 3s. Range: 25y
• Add spell: Death - Deals unaspected damage with a potency of 300 to target and all enemies nearby it and absorbs part of the damage as HP. Additional effect: Deaths Design (60s duration). MP Cost: 6000 MP | Recast: 45s | Casting time: 4s | Range: 25y
• Add trait: Enhanced Drain: increases the amount of HP absorbed by the "Drain" spell.
• Add trait: Enhanced Aspir: Reduces "Aspir" recast to 30s.
• Add trait: Enhanced Death: Reduces MP cost of "Death" to 5000 MP and the recast to 35s.
• Add trait: Enhanced Death II: The "Death" spell now will inflict "paralyze" to enemies when it critically hits.
• Remove weaponskill: Shadow of Death.
• Remove weaponskill: Whorl of Death.
• Remove weaponskill: Soul Scythe.
• Another weaponskill after Waxing Slice, with special effects to make it interesting to use. It's tiring to smash the same combo for 100 levels. So after Waxing Slice we can use this new weaponskill or Infernal Slice.
• Extend the duration Hell's Ingress/Egress gate (in-combat only).
• Permanent summon of the avatar as minion (not usable in cities).
• Soulsow/Moon Harvest: Rework the skill to make it more interesting to use.
• Slice: make the sound more powerful and similar to that of Waxing Slice.
• Add a new scythe weaponskill with a very wide horizontal arc, slow animation and high damage that hits all enemies in front of the reaper.
• Infernal Slice: should damage all enemies nearby the target as well, with reduced damage for additional targets.
• Grim Swathe and Blood Stalk: should absorb part of the damage as HP and add a "Death's Design" debuff.
• Gallows: character should not jump so high at the end of the animation, or not jump at all.
• Add Zero's and Zenos' scythe and attire (reaper) to the game or the store (Zero's is very likely to happen, not so sure about Zenos).
• Communio should share space with Harpe (Harpe turns into Communio).
• Harpe's hardcast animation should be reworked. The movement of the arm is awful and feels clunky/unnatural.

Overall make the reaper a job that is harder to use and to master.

Reapers aren't Necromancers. The job was originally developed by Garleans, who made contracts with Voidsent because they were unable to manipulate Aether directly. That's why switching to an MP based system doesn't really make sense. Necromancers do exist independently of this, as evidenced by Nybeth Obdilord. You'd probably be better served asking for a darker themed Caster DPS, given that the niche is largely unfilled (even BLM is more elementally focused).

I think that the cosmetic suggestions around adjusting Avatar glamour are fine. They could create an optional questline at some point and give players the chance to unlock a system analogous to the SCH/SMN skins. I wouldn't mind a bit of choice as long as I had a bit of backstory on what the choices actually were. I'm still not entirely sure who or what we've actually made a contract with, and I'm still a bit disappointed that the job storyline writers didn't take advantage of the opportunity to setup some Venom-styled banter with the Avatar. Although I suppose it could get distracting if both Fray and your Avatar suddenly start simultaneously commenting on your decisions from the side.

What I really want to see from a cosmetic standpoint is for the devs to incorporate more of the character design into the Enshroud form, including race-specific features like ears and tails. I also hope that they eventually release a flight transformation action out of combat for traversing the world in place of a conventional mount. I really like the animations that they did with the Travelling Supporter as a bipedal mount that can also fly, and they've experimented with the basic principle of a transformation based mount with the Rising Phoenix. All they need is a suitable animation for the effect.

As far as effects are concerned, you'd be better off doing some research around how Reaper optimization works first before proposing removing existing actions at random from the kit. Death's Design is the lynchpin for setting up the burst window at the moment. I suspect the reason why you're spending so much time stuck on your base combo is because you running into issues around resource management. There are definitely some nice options for weapon glamour out there, and we'll probably get more next expansion. If you're aiming for maximal edge, the Abyssos Sickle is probably your best bet.

One thing that I've been thinking about is the potential effect of having a second charge on Ingress/Egress. You could have Threshold only apply on the first dash, which would result in some interesting movement. It's really a shame that PvP doesn't let you Egress, especially when you have NIN with a built in Hide effect. I think you should be allowed to trick your opponents with clever movement tricks.

I think currently my preferred picks for new actions would be:

• An 'Abyssal Wings' ability that temporarily boosts movement speed. Pressing the button a second time returns you to where you activated the action.
• An 'Infernal Haste' ability that grants a charge of Soul Slice/Scythe the next three times you consume a Soul Reaver stack.
• A 'Test of Your Reflexes/Veil Asunder' weaponskill with a cast time as a single target alternative to Communio. Unsure about whether this should have a built in gapcloser effect or not.
