I never saw any other threads about this, and I wonder if I'm the only one terribly annoyed by how these Forums are bad when it comes to user experience.
Among other things, what bothers me the most is the lack of a live 'feed'* of forum activity (e.g. likes, replies) like literally any other social platform out there. Sometimes I really miss out thread replies because It's really hard to keep track of that, with the only way requiring clicking on the slow-loading profile page to then browse back your recent posts and manually go from there to see what happened.
*edit: As a clarification, by that I mean a notification feature
But then, with the lack of meaningful moderation here, I wouldn't be surprised that they are fine with the platform resembling a relic from the 2000's.

Well, there is the new messages. All the forums I've been a part of always used that new message to identify the thread that have new things. I don't get what you want, that's how a forum is expected to be.
I agree with the lack of moderation, though. -

With a live feed tool, you get notifications (usually on the top right corner) when you have interactions without having to click on a new thread. That is a very useful and basic tool.Quote:

But I don't think I ever came across a (gaming) Forum nowadays that makes that possible, which leads me to think that they may perceive those interactions (i.e. you being able to see quotations from an ignored person) as positive engagement to the platform somehow.Quote:

Yeah, it's not great. I've been spoiled by other forums where when someone quote-replies you or adds a message to a thread you're subscribed to you get a notification within the web app. For all I know, there could be someone who replied to me in a thread I just never thought to go back to. That's a bit of a bummer.

+1 to awful and +1 to “ignore completely removing a user from my entire forum experience” option(s).
When the first 2 pages have 1/2 the posts dominated by 1 or 2 users, most of which is garbage troll posts, I just lose interest in even engaging on the forums entirely. -
