how they enforce tos is wrong

So I feel like this needs to be said being a victim of this well since ARR came out, people sit there and scream"troll" when you have a different opinion or view and they sit there spreading that to others until it sets you off to say something, then they report honestly you devs and mods need look at the entire picture. If someone sets you off it's not your fault what you say to them it's called self-defense and defending yourself. I'm so sick of you protecting the bad people while punishing the good because they set you off to do something... seriously you need to learn to look at the complete picture not just what I or someone else says in retaliation

Wait, you mean the ToS in all online games and such treats things like bullies in schools, where if you dare react in certain ways you get punished instead of the bad person/people?

But honestly, just set yourself to /busy and do something by yourself that won't get you to react like that.

If you're getting heated, remove yourself right away from what's making you heated. Sure, they started something to get you heated, but you probably ended up making things worse by giving in to them, when they might have wanted that to happen.

It's a two way street. Look both ways before crossing, then be on your way. Silently if you have to.

Don't say stupid/bad stuff? Better yet, play the Uno Reverse card and get them to say bad stuff then report them. If you know the rules and can keep your cool, you can use and abuse the ToS against those you despise just as much as they can try to use it against you.

Life isn't fair. Learn to roll with it and use the experience to prepare you for your next encounter. It's the Savage Raid that you have no choice but to go with.

Also you can just turn off chat and choose to be a silent player. You're not making yourself look like a fool if you don't say anything to someone antagonizing you.

Honestly your best defense in games or life is just to not react at all. If you do react then you need to learn how to do it in a way that is within the TOS so they cannot use it against you. Fair or it is how the world is.

Then you need to seek help by getting a therapist. I'm not saying this to be mean. I'm saying this because people need help.

I'm 33, I've been seeing a therapist since I was 7. Every single month since. I still have a ton of issues I'm working through, but I've learned some things over time. I'm usually terrible with people, so I'm almost always acting like a weirdo dumbarse. I speak in chocobo puns half the time in game when I feel like talking, and if I don't feel like it I just right click and hide the chat.

Mental health isn't something to take lightly, so please look into things if they're bad for you.

I know trolls can be frustrating, but letting them get under your skin to the point you fly off the handle is exactly what they want. You need to learn when to take a step back, and seriously ask yourself if it's worth continuing to engage with someone like that. Choose your battles -- especially if you can be provoked to such a point where you're landing yourself in trouble for lashing out. It's not worth possibly getting suspended or banned just to tell off some random internet stranger. They aren't a part of your life, they don't matter.

Just like in real life, just suck it up. If you can't control your reaction, that's a you problem, not the TOS. As someone else pointed out, seek help if that's the case.
And you can't just punch someone and walk away, that's called assault and you can get charged for that.

Don't ever let a bully provoke you into doing something rash that can get you into trouble.

Instead, take your time, plan things right... and get them later.

Yeah so if you punch someone in the face when all they did was verbally provoke you... you can still be arrested for assault. If the police get called they won't just let you go because you said 'but they were mean first!' Many of these places have their hands tied, though schools a bit less so. Bullies and trolls know the rules, they know the laws that govern the space they are acting in. They know where the line is so they can toe it just right so they can't actually get in trouble, and as already stated 'but because they did something' is not a defense for escalation. And that is what it is, it isn't self-defense, it is escalation. If you fight back toeing the same line it'll be less likely to get reported or acted on if reported. The moment you escalate it is on you.

Yeah unfortunately the crowd will nitpick and cover anything up so anything of a serious matter won't be treated properly. I made that mistake of bringing feedback here the other week. Forums is basically talking at a brick wall imo. Either react farmers or fighting like divorced couples or just brick wall chat loop.

I'll post these again.

And as a strong suggestion, when you get high emotions like that, please remove yourself from situations with other people. If you keep relying on doing that, you're just going to get more negativity drawn to you, and that will only make your mood(s) at the time much worse.

You might even need to take breaks from the game if you get that heated about something happening. I'd suggest maybe try writing or journaling when you get like that, and then go back over what you wrote when you're in a calmed mindset and maybe try to figure out why you 'jump the gun' and get heated like this.

Also, I would suggest looking into Intermittent explosive disorder (IED), with a doctor or therapist. It's something I have, and it's something I'm kind of feeling from some of your posts.
