Ideas for expanding content in roulettes?

So we know they're adjusting ilevel for alliance roulette to try and reduce how often we get CT raids.

What are some ways they can do the same for other content? Is it mostly ilevel based? Some of the issue is probably a lack of people unlocking things.

For example, I just got Titan 4 days in a row on trial roulette. I get Leviathan constantly too. There has to be a way to mix up trials so we get more of the fun ones. I'd also like to see more incentive to repeat trials. They're some of the more fun content in this game, but most of the trials we rarely get to do after the MSQ.

Same with normal raids. I get A1N 80% of the time, probably because it's one of the few people unlock.

Most people aren't unlocking the sidequest dungeons, so those rarely come up. But there has been another recent change, which is that all the required dungeons can be done with Duty Support, which could shift the balance to where we mostly get sidequest dungeons, but I don't really do the old dungeon roulettes much at the moment.

Titan is common, but I find the level 90 ones are as well because of returners unlocking them, as well as all MSQ ones such as SOS, Innocence, Titania, Tsukuyomi, Lakshmi, Susano, Bismarck, Ravana, Shiva, Leviathan and moogles.

For normal raids, although alex is common, so is Pandaemonium extremely common. Normally I get the last floor of the current tier (which is convenient because I don't need to queue directly for the weekly drop then).

I think it'd be really useful if it were made clear which Sidequests are more significant. Can't help but wonder if the reason some of these dungeons are not being unlocked is that newer players are not aware of the (side)quest chains that unlock them?

To cite one example (and speaking in terms of in-game information) it isn't entirely obvious that you unlock the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse Quests by talking to a Dwarf and accepting a quest with a pretty non-descript name.

Oh how I envy you. My trial roulette seems to have a 70% chance of being Ifrit, 12% chance of being Titan, 12% chance of being Leviathan and the remaining 6% are other trials.

I honestly think non-MSQ content should just unlock automatically. I love the Ivalice raids and I enjoy the HW alliance raids as well (NieR raids can go die in a fire though). I would definitely prefer to get them more often. Same with later expansion trials.

About 6 months ago I created a new character and bought a lvl 80 boost + story skip to play with friends and join their fc on another DC. The story skip unlocks only the MSQ and flying. Nothing else. It means no retainers, no glamours, no combat chocobo, no aesthetician and no side content, including raids and trials. The quantity of blue markers all over the map was overwhelming (and a bit discouraging) and requires to put in a lot of time to unlock all that content. If you want to unlock raids and trials you have to do the questlines and queue for them too. Even if some are soloable with the proper level for faster unlocks and I know where to go, it still takes a considerable amount of time to do do all the questlines.

I wish there was an option with an npc I could talk to to unlock an entire old raid/trial series quickly.

If people start at level 1, it takes much longer too. The same goes for new players who bought a boost. They don’t know how many raids there are and where to get the quests like the Nier raids that you mention. Maybe they should at least put the initial quest givers in the main cities and give a different quest color icon for group content unlocks.

On top of that, OPs server is on Dynamis, a young DC with a low population, which explains why they keep getting a very limited range of trials and normal raids.

For the record, I play on Aether the majority of the time. I have 90s on Aether, and my Dynamis character usually has to travel to get roulettes done since the Dynamis queues are horrendous

Depends on job, time and what roulette. I have had some bad ones I've had some days it's been easy even as a DPS though it would help Dynamis ques a lot if people couldn't DC travel

I thought it was pretty common knowledge, if you see a blue quest marker, it will unlock something optional? Dungeons, trials, raids, dyes, glamour, melding, changing your hairstyle, beast tribe, hunts - https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wiki/Feature_Quests

But then you take away the player choice on whether they want to interact with that optional content or not.

That implies there are queues on Dynamis.

Most days of the week not a single alliance duty queue pops there.

I do prefer dynamis for the low level dungeons to mindlessly clear the remaining portions of roulette for.

And a min ilvl roulette. Man, I'd actually do that regularly. The normal roulette stuff I cannot do more than once a week if at all because it bores me to tears.

It sounds more like they're looking for more specificity in terms of what gets unlocked. Like if there was somehow slightly differing markers depending on whether a questline opens group content (e.g. dungeon/raid) vs. beast tribes vs. glamour, etc..
