Fanfest scammers

Not sure if anyone saw on youtube but someone posted a vid about keeping an eye out for 2 scammers that got some group scammed that were going to Fanfest. Kind of funny they both played lalafell but the uploader uploaded their characters on lodestone so that way people can watch out for these scammers.

Well at least they didnt get covid

also this goes under name and shame, its very weird, sure its a scam but exposing this stuff on the forums and the lodestone links (that also are impossible to change) in order to harass them and get them stalked ? nah

That sucks. Hopefully the victims can seek restitution.

Just saw the video (MSQ daily) and wow that sucks.

remember the days when people were held accountable and shamed? People got to soft we need those days of people being held accountable and called out not protected or go into hiding

Damn you know there’s not something completely right when you long con for 6 years for that little money. Those scammers need professional help and my condolences to those who lost money.

The problem is, if you name and shame someone who is innocent on SQEX's forums, then SQEX becomes liable. They don't allow name and shame to cover their own butts, not the people who are scamming. That's why they have a report system.

I can’t even imagine why someone would act that way. Why burn bridges with longtime friends for a relatively small amount of money?

money is everything no matter how much. You see how things are so expensive lately as well and people shop lifting more and more. People do anything now a days

Gotcha, making fun of two scammers isn't funny or nice and we should be all depressed and cry about the scammed peoples losses!

The problem is that it doesn't come across as making a joke at the expense of the scammers. It comes across as making a joke at the expense of their victims.

The algorithm brought me that video as well. Pure sadness.

i have to say that sentence, "we printed the tickets out", was a HUUUUUUUGE red flag. Noone prints tickets, especially at those prices, this days, the are all digital anyways. Still that criminal potential of those two is just sad.

I literally called the scammers backstabbing people and people who would sell their mother for money. I know the "proud" part was the only thing that Sophia read and then turned into a raging white knight who had to defend the poor scammed people without even thinking for a second about the context.

To me every normal thinking person on this planet should know that this is a joke, especially after OP mentioned they are both lalafell players. Especially when i wrote it so over the top with the added "selling our mother" which wasn't even part of the drama and clearly negative towards the scammers.

But for some people irony and sarcasm is hard to understand, i am used to it.

One of the FFXIV players, has filed a criminal fraud charge with law enforcement.

There's one thing you failed to take into consideration.

Some people in this world approve of taking advantage of every opportunity to get ahead, regardless of how unethical or illegal it may be. They will use the same type of language that you use because they do take pride in being a "backstabber", etc.

A bit better to avoid sarcasm when not everyone "listening in" is going to know your real life personality.
