Fan Fest Hype

I didn't see a thread except the content creator one, so I figured I'd start one.

Who's excited for Fan Fest? What kind of hype are you on?

I saw someone on Twitter talking about manifesting Fordola in the 7.0 MSQ and I'd be thrilled for that. I love that she's someone that helps keep the WoL's feet on the ground.

So let's use this thread to get the hype train going! If people want to be non-hype too that's fine, just try to be respectful of each other.

I'm hyped for fanfest, hoping for some teasers about 7.0 and maybe a reveal of where we're going? Hoping for Meracydia!

Also, the graphical update! More details and screenshots or video, please. :3

There's quite no need for players to hype up the game for Square Enix so that they can make more sales. It's sad that they now require simps to make hype threads for them instead of their products speaking for themselves.

I'd say Meracydia and the New World are probably my top places I want to see right now

I do also want to hear more about the graphical update. On a practical standpoint, because I need to look into some PC upgrades so I hope we start hearing some about specs.

I'm not really hyped at all as I don't really have an interest in these kind of events, but I am intrigued/concerned about what they could announce there. Maybe they'll announce something that'll get me somewhat hyped for 7.0, or maybe they'll announce something that'll turn me off of it, but I have no idea which one it'll be as of now and only time will tell.

Night, I'm not hyped at all for fanfest either, but by some miracle, this thread is genuinely positive without trying to take shots at other threads/people or being a damage control thread. It's not something we get to see often, so just chill please.

unfortunately, I'm more skeptical of fanfest than hyped about it. I hope good stuff gets shown but the content path this game has taken is telling me it will be a disappointment. I do hope Im wrong.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I can understand where those who aren't hyped are coming from. I've been there myself with other games. Hopefully you will be able to find something that will pique your interest. Maybe the graphical update might be enough to make some check things out, even if they aren't as content with story or gameplay.

I want more homogenisation of races.

Like, if we could convert everybody to a Lallafell, that would be cool.

You know, they should unironically do that for April Fool's one year. And not just the players. Every NPC too. Just release a patch that changes all of the character models into Lalafells.

One of the EverQuests (I think the first) turned us all into red stick figures before as a "graphics update" for April 1st and it was the funniest thing I think I've ever seen in a game. I would love this.

I'm hyped! Though you know that I guess.

Fordola in the MSQ. Fordola, Zero, and Estinien in the same party... o.O Wow. Also, I can only imagine how Fordola's overactive echo would deal with voidsent made of multiple people if we took her to the 13th. Sheesh. XD

Oh, another thing I'm hyped for is new music! I can't wait to hear what we get with the trailer. Soken always goes so hard.

Considering the Lala lifter 'debacle' I don't think this is a good idea. The worst of the Lala players would scream that their race is not a joke for two months or so before dying out. lol

Very Very hyped! I got a free day from work to see Day 1 live and lots of snacks and Coke!
I also made a Bingo card for what's to come and am genuinely excited about the New expansion!
I do have a list of things that I want to see! But even if none is a guarantee, I will just enjoy the festivities with some friends!

I wish you all a happy Fan Fest whether you are going there in person or will see it online! Hyped for the new expansion and new story!

They finished almost every arc in EW and post EW, even Hildibrand found some peace.

The next exp can't be a lazy version of ARR.

Super hyped. I love seeing a community of people who love a thing coming together and there's so much energy at these events, they're just cool to watch. I also like people trying to guess at Yoshi P's shirts, the keynote talking about (and releasing the teaser) of the expansion and its name, and while some of the panels are boring to me and I pass on them, some are pretty cool and have stuff about the current game, where we're going, change, thoughts behind the changes, and so on.

I'm super hyped!!

As I said in that other thread:

Some people have decided they don't like the game and/or it won't be what they want it to be/like, so they're trying to make everyone one else down on it and/or quit to validate their own views. What makes the maddest is when there are people legitimately enjoying the game. They can't stand that, so they attack and derail any positive threads and positive posters. All it means is you aren't validating them and they're not mature enough to realize different people like different things and be happy for them.

I have a small stock of mocha coffee, chocolate biscuits and a warm comfy chair to chill in. Definitely looking forward to finally finding out where the hell we are going..and to be honest, this is in a way an even bigger celebration than most realise.

We have been through hell the last few years. Two of my closer friends are nurses who were "recalled" when the pandemic hit, they did two years of service before retiring again. Both of them have changed, not for the better.

I've never seen them look so haunted. Both of them have also said that the next time they get a call to come back..the answer will be no.

So, when you watch FanFest, look at the cheering crowds, look at the stage, remember that two years ago none of this would have happened. The last FanFest was on an empty stage, yes we were online and loving it, but live has its own energy, its own wonder.

Fanfest is a celebration of the game, its also a celebration for a far more important reason.

Life's a gift.

Here's my LITERALLY NEVER EVER Dreamlist for announcements during this FanFest
- Female Hrothgar announcement, along with Hrothgar/Viera overhaul announcements (Fixed hats, more/all hairs, etc)
- 2 new DPS jobs announced (A caster, any caster really, and a phys ranged). One of them uses a Whip, the other uses Shield + gun, or Shield + mace
- New zone is a previously unexplored zone (Maybe Dalmasca, maybe even the Source Viera forests?
- Minor Touhou Collab (glams, mogstation items, etc)
- Soken x ZUN music collab (This will literally never happen)

Lina: I had to actually look up Touhou as Id never heard of it.

Interesting.

I know everyone is really excited for Meracydia or the New World, and while that would be sick, I’m hoping for something more small scale. Something more akin to the scale of Heavensward, where we explore Corvus and other places formerly under Garlean rule. It’d be really cool to learn more about the cultures of the great continents, understand how Garlean occupation affected these places, and deal with the issues resulting from the new power vacuum from Garlemald’s collapse. We've been dealing with the potential end of the world for a while now, it'd be kinda nice if we lowered the stakes a tad.

Other than that, I'm most excited to see more info on the graphics update ^.^

I'll watch fanfest, but I know they're gonna skip Meracydia again, so I'm prepared to walk away from the experience annoyed.

Even cynical old me is kinda hyped, I just really like events like this.

Chances are I'll walk out being mad, like every videogame presentation thus far in 2023.

Nahhh, I say do it. The screeching from terminally online Twitter bots that think even playing as a Falafel is grounds to call someone a pedophile with their whole chest would amuse me.

Really want to see how the Hrotgal will look and curious about the new jobs, first time i'm not really interested in what's going to happen msq wise though, let's hope that will change.

Worse case scenario, the event will be awful and we can rename it "Fan fist" !

That's a really good reminder, Vel. Some have been through hell the past two years. Some are out there celebrating still being here. Some are no longer here who were before. There is something to be happy about with our lives when we can be excited (or salty too) about a new expansion.

I could definitely see that. I know some wanted a Garlemald expansion for current Garlemald but I feel the way they did things opens up one for us to delve into their history which I feel would be much more interesting. I would love to trace their story all the way back to Goug and maybe even further if some fan theories are correct.

I don't how many of you are on the bird app but something I'm really enjoying there is seeing everyone arrive and all the game-related things. Like I just saw a post mentioning people were giving out sprouts to wear. And someone cracked a joke earlier about not crafting in front of the vendor tables. Or a picture someone posted of a long line and putting it up against a picture of Raubahn Savage with "Spot the difference".

We aren't the most perfect community (find one that is) but it's funny little in-jokes and things like this that make happy I get them and happy I'm able to be part of it.

Id say he is also relieved this nightmare is over. Between you and me, its time we fans let our hair down and party.

Only 3 hours left I am hyped!

I'm hoping to see hrothgirls, the new job(s), the new expansion's theme and location, new content ideas or upcoming gameplay/QoL improvements.

I'm counting the hours until it starts! I don't think much will be revealed today, but I'm excited nonetheless. I hope they'll reveal the first part of the new trailer *bounces*.
