I recently got my Miner and Botanist to 50. With some HQ gear and food I'm at Gathering 105, Output 114, Perception 142 and attributes at about 230 each.
Just wondering what others see in HQs per hour? Been trying Supple Spruce Branches and Darksteel/Astral Rock and so far the only thing I've gotten was two Resin +1.
Not complaining or anything, just curious for the sake of budgeting time.

Its very random.
My perception with food is 170+ and when I was farming astral rock there was a day i had 3-4 in an hr then nothing for couple of hours. On some days I get 1 per hour.
Same with DS and Cobalt. Sometimes I hit 1-3 HQ per node and sometimes I hit none for a long time.
Hopefully with my new militia sledgehammer the results will be better -

For miner, try to raise mind to at least 270. You should see Master of Rock proc more often.

Stats are a joke for DoH and DoL.
You can synth difficulty recipes 10 levels higher than your level with little to no difficulty.
Most of my gear is +1 and melded with the appropiate tier IV and i barely notice a difference.
Theres currently a total inbalance of DoW/DoM stats effect compared to DoH/DoL.
Sad considering how they have constantly said that they want DoH/DoL to be a primary factor in this game.
Little to no content for DoH/DoL is one thing, but stats that do little to nothing?
I'm sure 2.0 will be the appropriate changes. -

I've found that getting your perception up makes a huge difference. I have two gear sets for botanist one of which is for actual botany the other for hamlet defence. The hamlet defence one is focused on gathering to compensate for the lost gathering due to weilding a broken lvl one tool. The actual botany gear is focused on perception. As an experiment I tried both sets for 4 hours each in nine ivies for a few days. I noticed I was getting a lot more hq spruce branches but the increase was lower than that for the resin/logs etc. Only tried it for three days so it could just have been luck that accounted for the different increases between the spruce and other drops but it's an absolute certainty that loading on as much perception as you can makes a big difference.

Perception caps around 100 at 10% and when master of XYZ ability procs it allows you to surpass that cap which is why you want as much perception as you can. I get a general feeling of 30% HQ rate when master of XYZ ability procs with 160'ish perception. I try to wear enough gathering so that I can 1 shot what i'm going after within reason, depends on the target item. I would venture to say the +10 HQ stat is equivalent to +1% HQ rate. This is just a guess based on the 10enmity => 1% enmity gain stat, that and its easy to code/balance.
