Dragonfire Dive

Why is the lowest Damaging skill in the Game Dragoons Ultimate Skill?

Cuz it's not? Are you using it on fire elementals or something lol

250 Dmg on Level 54 Raptors.

Raptors are Fire based mobs. You are using a fire based attack. /facepalm

Unless the mob is weak to fire, most of the time Dragonfire Dive does less damage than a non-buffed Doomspike. I think the reasoning behind the low damage is because it is AoE. In my opinion the AoE range should be increased on it by a bit so it makes it a bit easier to use.

DFD is an instant cast no combo ability that cost us absolutely nothing to use, it may be on a 15 minute timer but that hardly means it should be extremely powerful at such an amazingly low cost. Most the 15 minute abilities are meh aside from a couple.

Also one very good thing about Dragonfire Dive is that is works like Shoulder Tackle, it relocates you.
I find it very good on Moogle fights to chase the goddamn black mage, specially because Memento Moogle is such a chaotic, graphically, moment and specially coupled with my internet that despite having her on target lock I rapidly loose track of her. It's perfect for getting myself back into position.

Testest it on some other mobs.. My Leg sweep is stronger..

I just don't see how a Considerably weak AOE jump compares to:

Invincible - Take no damage
Benediction - Instantly heals everyone
Hundred Fists - No AA downtime

Especially, when it does practically nothing to any enemy where having an Ultimate Skills would be useful.

The least they could do is give us TP or something..

I just did 1k+ to elder mosshorn and his women, each. Better than Mighty Strikes at least

Also fills TP bar, or 2k...or something...but a lot of TP is generated :)

I havent been gaining tp.. Perhaps its related to the number of mobs you hit..

my dragonfire dive hit 2 fire drakes for 689 each so you must be doing something wrong.

Its just a 15 min skill and it has a good AoE i use it all the time, the damage is not too high but its good enough for me, with high level mobs fire based should and do less damage, and as someone said that he did over 1k on damage on each mosshorn wives, he must done 5k damage in total, thats not a bad number imo....

On lvl 55 Raptor, Lv1 Power Surge, no food, no pot, no Sanction. Can easily turn that into 1k with Sanction + crit >_>

luls on hundred fist, sure its a nice skill but it does not = the damage of DHD

Anyone that says dragonfire dive isweak never does garuda or CC on dragoon, they shines in alot of situation, raptors isnt one of em for obvious reason and ppl keep posting screenshot of raptor. Why?

Just saying that I can kill Fire with Fire :rolleyes: screw the Elemental Wheel.

DFD can improve DPS on Princess in CC by about 10-15% and gives around 2k tp when used since it hits multiple mobs. The fact that it acts the way Broad Swing used to work on MRD means you can use all of your TP then DFD to get TP back to full makes it a great ability. As to how much TP per mob I will have to test that out when I have the time.

Keen Fury -> Ring of Talons - > Dragonfire Dive - > Ring of Talons

Nice bit of AoE Damage right there, Provided Dragonfire Dive gives you enough TP back.

its actually not that bad and at the same time not that screwed up
in miser fight its 1k hit for me which is amazing and nice at the same time.
but god ur using fire against fire what did you expect?
try using it on miser or other mobs that are weak to fire and see what will happen it was made for this purpose and please don't use it on plumes in garuda and come saying it doesn't hit hard.

Dragonfire Dive sucks! I mean I can never hit those Rainbow Basilisks with it, gawd!

Hits Garuda and her magic threesome buddy for around 800 dmg. Anyone wonder if PIE affects it's damage?
