Its time for scorched earth - Have self-healing be disabled in CC

and let the Healers have a permanent spot in CC, let Healers actually heal again.

I'm reaaaaaalllllyyy getting tired of the bull self-healing nonsense in CC, its very very unbalancing.

I rather rely on a Healer than allow self-healing be a thing in CC.

Also think of this

This will destroy the cheaters or at least 90% percent of them, sure they're going to have their other toys, but with no self-healing of their own they're sitting ducks no matter what they try.

I can accept the 1-hit KOs, I can accept the stupid continuous Stuns and other debuffs.

Let's just see how good players actually are in CC, this would be entertaining to watch.


If its not evident now yes I'm really salty at CC PVP, I'm not going to torture myself in that mode with the way Ranked works, if self-healing was disabled then maybe things might actually get put back into balance a bit more.

Yeah sure, self-healing is the problem and not the endless CC-spam that happens when you walk into line-of-sight of any players.

Obviously a low quality post, but knowing when to retreat and heal is also a skill.

You are asking for Feast combat dynamic and role queue to return, the two reasons why Feast casual was a dead fish in the pond.

Having Healers be the vast majority of healing in PvP is thematically sound, but on paper was basically:

- limiting to potential job design since Healers need to have a baseline amount to quality, which is why Scholar suffered immensely for not being close enough
- put immense pressure on the Healer to fulfill their role in a match, which often lead to healer anxiety in PvP, causing people to not pick healer and therefore slowing queues
- put the responibility on Healers so much that the average player will auto-blame a Healer if things go wrong

The whole point why they introduced more self healing (Recuperation and other) was to give agency to individual players rather than forcing holy trinity PvP.

As Doozer said, self-heal management and retreating / positioning are skillsets just as doing optimal damage / bursts and healing another player.

I definitely want role-agnostic PvP to stay. Instead, I want CC diminishing returns and/or global (all jobs) access to Fetter Ward (CC immunity for a short duration while being free to act, unlike Guard).

Even in CC where many of them are overpowered trash the healers are underrepresented. All this would do is drive queue times up and participation down.

How about no? Learn to do your burst properly and learn to focus target and pick off low hp targets. If ya'll would just pay attention to your surroundings and not treat every engagement like a 1v1 you'd have a significantly easier time getting kills/assists.

Recup isn't some all powerful tool. You can only use it a few times before needing to run away, and even if you don't get the kill you REMOVED THEM FROM ENGAGEMENT. Don't chase them and swap your focus to someone else who likely will be killed because it becomes of numbers game at that point.

crystal ranked players are not that impressive, they are usually the first to start spamming (GOOD JOB!) and the first to rage DC lol

I could have easily reached crystal had i gave enough of a crap but i don't because the rewards are not enough for the time spent.

Healers are already one of if not the hardest carry role in CC, due to their heals (SGE excepted). I don't want to go back to Feast where everything hangs on the shoulder of your healers, or who has the more of them.

Damage in PvP is too high to rely on healers instead of self-heals, especially with everyone running around and getting separated. Even before the revamp people had med-kits to use.

Its not that hard, i literally sneezed and got plat rank before stopping because i *wait for it* VALUE MY TIME TOO MUCH, woah.... alien concept i know... crazy!
I have Killed crystal rankers with mild effort in casual, the only thing thats different between them and others is that they know when to flee in fear lol (which sometimes causes their team to lose, which is funny)

Honestly, scortched earth or dampening would do wonders for curtailing the 30 minute long overtime matches in crystal ranked games. But I can't agree on any of OP's points.

I wish I had 30min long overtime games in crystal ranked games tbh...

Tank/Healer ball games were fun but exhausting. I think my longest was like 23 min total?

There is almost no tanks at crystal level on my DC. Most of it is melee DPS and healers even though you'll ofc find other things.

Yeah I've had one that went over 20min once, but those are very rare, and it usually happens more on plat/diam games in my experience.
