Right in the middle of a holiday for both the EU and also NA, well done, couldnt have picked a better time for it eh ?
It's the perfect time to finally go outside!
It's only a holiday in the U.S. Not sure if Mexico or anything in the south has anything, but up north there isn't anything going on.
The maintenance is at one of the lowest activity periods of all for most regions. It is just for a few hours, for one morning, and often a maintenance ends early, especially when it's just fixing something. I don't know what the problem is.
May 29, 2023 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. (PDT) is 4 p.m. JST and 9 a.m. CEST.
29 May is Whit Monday across most of Europe. Next year it falls on 20 May. In 2025 it falls on 9 June. For those of us who live in North America, it is totally unrelated to Memorial Day in the United States.
I can understand your dissappointment.
But I have to ask if you'd really rather spend the entirety of your holiday under threat of this condition: "This maintenance will address an issue which causes servers to crash under certain conditions." instead of getting up late and starting to play at noon?
EU worlds at least have had no issues and no crashes as far as I'm aware, I cant talk for NA as I dont play it much, so this "condition" basically is near to inexistent if not fully inexistent
once again this could have done the day after on a normal day where people work or are at school.
Yeah because everybody works on holidays lmao, idk in what world you live, and dont you worry about me touching grass, I was away from home for 3 days and came back last night, I touched enough grass but thank you for your concern
Who actually cares? I think the majority of folk are actually busy either working or doing something else around those times.
If youre going to be such a whiny baby for 3 hours then maybe actually take advantage of the holiday and go outside and touch some grass. Such a huge L thread on your part.
Imagine freaking out for a block of 3 hours maintenance. It seems a bit unhealthy.
The average wakeup time is 7 AM if people are going to work or a place of education. Otherwise they are definitely catching up on sleep or relaxing or maybe in our case gaming.
I doubt anyone is going to hang out with their friends at 7 AM in the morning, so if they aren't going anywhere then why even get up? So the most my family do is just get some breakfast then go back to relaxing for the rest of the morning.
It's 7-10 AM UTC. Maybe it is 9-12 for a european that is +2 hours but it is still the morning. Even for Australians, it ends at 8 PM which is actually the most busy time of day in any region.
I wont mind it going down for three hours tomorrow morning (meaning 3 am EST Time for me to 6 am) and it's my night off from work tonight. I'll play some more TotK
tonight instead of ffxiv like i do on my overnights nights off. The shrines are caaaaalllling me.
Not to mention that it begins at 4 pm in Japan, which could move into prime evening playing time.
In general, hot fixes are applied as soon as they've been validated to work. Apparently, if Stormpeaks does not experience a problem, it doesn't exist.
There would still be complaints about maintenance on Memorial Day (Monday maintenance)
I just spent 3 days with family, but thank you for your concern ; ) I dont need you to tell me to see my family of my friends
not wasting anymore of my daily posts for this though, I said what I said, I wasnt screaming or "freaking out" like has been said, it was just me saying it could have been done on a better timing, I remember them also doing a maintenance on a 4th of july which is just terrible timing.
Isn't OP one of the people who usually complains that there's nothing to do in the game anyway?
Since you are crying here on the forums about nonsense it seems you indeed do need someone to tell you exactly that.
There are different timezones, not everything revolves around you and NA. I know you really really believe to be the center of the universe and that the earth is flat and japan has no rights to their own work schedules. If you have a problem with all of that, there is a western mmo named WoW, you can go play that. Maybe they will cater to entitled people like you.
Every day. We stray further from god...
hey, its 3 HOURS THEY CANT SIT IN THEIR HOUSE BORED!!!!!
for some people, and the OP is obviously one of them, thats an important 3 hours where they werent doing anything anyway. they could have been online stewing about having nothing to do.
if they were lucky, the game would crash during that 3 hours so they could complain about it on the forums
I play the game almost every day, its fine with a break whether having a day on or off.
Is... This seriously a complaint that a Maintenance is going to be on a Bank Holiday? Ma'am. They always aim to do Maintenance on Mondays, and unfortunately. Bank Holidays are not really taken into consideration for the rest of the world when it comes to maintenance.
If you would rather, they could do Maintenance on the weekend, y'know the time when most people are at home after a long week of work and probably just wanna relax.
Unfortunately, the time frames of Maintenance and such are done during downtime and times of lower activity. If you'd prefer they leave the game in a state when it is crashing under certain conditions until it is suitable for you then when can we be looking at an update?
Convenience for you, does not mean convenience for others. Nor does an Inconvenience to you mean an inconvenience to others. This topic gets brought up EVERY time a maintenance happens on a holiday in the US or EU; it's honestly just draining.
The world doesn't revolve around you, use those 3 hours that are spent on maintenance to go outside and touch some grass.
Who had Stormpeaks making a bait thread and being one of those folks who feel the need to complain about a small inconvenience about a holiday that most don't celebrate on their bingo card?
Let's be real, it's not like there was a wealth of things to do in game anyway.
I can only agree tbh as much as I would love to disagree, the raid tier is pretty fun though, but aside from that (and housing in my case) and hanging out with friends, there really aint much that is fun to me, but as a social simulator this game is amazing, connecting with people all around the world and hanging out is the best part of this game along with housing for me.
This maintenance shouldn't even have happened in the first place.
This isn't even like if Square Enix fired their QA. This is like if Square Enix fired their QA and then hired a bunch of orangutans to type out things and then randomly paste it into production code.
Seriously how many hotfixes are there in EW lmao.
NA always gets crapped on with times. Nice that it's finally rather late for us for once.
