Too... Many... Capes!

In other games you can at least hide them... Here they are glued to the armor and you are stuck with it, even when it's badly clipping your tail, or other stuff. And it doesn't help that like half the sets now come with cape on top of thick and armored robes.

And what's with the Anabaseios Maining chest? Still stuck with the curtain holder even when it's not there...

Been saying it for years.


That and all the stuff that should be attached to legs being attached to the chest. My two biggest gripes with gear.

Agree, i'm sick of capes, especially on striking classes.

There a hundreds of tops that have things hanging off I wish I could remove. If they ever address this it'll probably involve making new items without the cape/extra bits.

Capes would be amazing... if there was a separate new gear slot for them.

EDIT: The slot could double as a backpack glam slot. ;)

I'd be fine if they had actual cloth physics for the whole length. Most of them are pretty static until the waist line and then move like they're part of a robe.

When they add new gear and it has capes that clip so bad.

I thought the same thing when checking out the new sets on my character in the dressing room. What I dislike about capes is we spend most of the time viewing our characters from their backside, and capes cover it all up. I also find that they work better on males.

Worst thing is that new armor looks really good without them. They just went extra mile to make sure most of them has capes which ruins whole armor. Even some crafted armor has buttcapes for some reason.

Also wtf are those rocks. Even if they looked good, they're once again terribly rigged. They don't float, they are just rigged to your characters back, so if you turn few degrees to one side, rocks just move half a meter, even though they should not move at all. It's just comical seeing people run with that wiggling rock armor. It would work if they levitated like weapons in NieR, but instead they look like something from cheap chinese MMORPG.

Moonward capes were nice in that sense, that they blocked your tail from sticking through the capes. cant remember if they altogether just hid it underneath. for me that was acceptable compromise.

If capes aren't going to have cape physics, the I'd honestly rather them be removed entirely.

Make capes as an off hand for everything but fending sets?

Shame we can’t have a remove cape option like how helmets have visor. Personally I love capes and actually there are jobs I want a cape on that don’t have enough options for capes, I’m hoping when the dyeable version of the new raid gear comes out that will be remedied but we’ll see. But I can also understand people not liking them and wanting the option to hide them.

Honestly, i think we should be able to turn it on/off just like some helmets. This feature could be useful for that Pandaemonium armor with glowing circle.

I wouldn't mind a cape/back slot so you could put a cape on something that doesn't have it and keep it off something you don't want it on.

Also really like chest and legs more separated. Like I like the top part of the new healer raid gear. I hate how that's always tied to a long skirt. Wish we could get the looks separate and then if you use them together they have the full robe look.

I love capes. But am surprised a big company can’t make them right. Even EQ2 did. And WoW

I love all capes and would hate to see them gone.

I 100% support a cape slot or a cape toggle though. Win-win for all.

I just hate how much it clips when you’re on a mount. It’s an eyesore.

I agree some are so bad and they are really like cardboard. I like the Rydia casting sets but the Elvis collar really ruins it for me.

My tail is magnificent and beutiful. I don't want capes.

I don't want capes to hide my tail. I'd rather have my tail clip through capes if I have to wear them.

I said this when they first showed off the 6.4 armor sets, stop it with the capes!

They clip into your tail, they often look like a piece of cardboard because there aren't any proper physics for them, they're simply rigged to move with your legs and on top of that they're on almost every armor set this patch.


I actually liked the fending chestpieces this time, until I saw that they stuck a cape to both of them.
Now I'm back to wearing the same armor I've been wearing for 5 years already.

Ghaaaa!

Is it that difficult to make versions without them?!?
