6.4 Positive Feedback

Hello I wanted to mention some of the things I like about the patch so far. While these forums are mostly just negative I think it's important to let the devs know when something is good too so they know to keep doing it.


- The Pandemonium raid story conclusion was really nice and I appreciate the effort to give all the bosses voice acting, as well as for the important scene at the end. While the lion's share of VO will always go to the MSQ, these small additions really serve to enhance the experience of the other content.

- The new UI features to display job icons on nameplates, change nameplate colour based on role, hide nameplates for players in battle, and align the party list to the bottom, are all really great and much appreciated. I'm already making use of most of these, though I would appreciate more colour options for nameplates. I also like being able to double click portraits for commendations.

- It might just be because we're early in the patch and no one has any new gear yet, but the normal mode bosses across the new content feel a bit tougher than usual, which I greatly appreciate. I have felt that Endwalker normal mode content has been excessively easy and encounters die extremely quickly. Some of these new bosses provide what I feel is a satisfying challenge for a normal mode player, and I really hope this continues forward.

- I like that new plate and portrait elements are being added as rewards not just for old content like prior beast tribes, but also for some of the higher achievements in the game's various side content like fishing and mahjong. It's not only nice to have new goals to incentivize participation in this content, but it allows players who engage with that content a lot to show how much they like it with personalization options.

- The music this patch has been superb (though this is hardly unusual), especially Pandemonium which for me personally has taken the title of raid with best music overall.

- The contest winning weapon entries for the most part look really good and were adapted faithfully. I also like that for the first time it seems many of them use the names the contest entrants submitted.

- Decorating on the island sanctuary is great. I really love the registration system that allows you to copy items without limit. Don't have to worry about things taking up my inventory, and can freely place and remove and test things as much as I want without having to buy loads and loads of items. I forsee large demand for more outdoor furnishings in the future.


I haven't extensively tried everything yet so I will update if I have more to share.

I was really surprised by the island sanctuary changes, especially the decorating part.

We got the correct moon music, which is what I was hoping for.

I'm so happy with the Pandaemonium Normal difficulty fights this time around, I want this level of difficulty to stay! The story and music too have been excellent. :)
Definitely my favourite set of Normal Raids to ever come out of XIV!

I did really like the new raids, I'm super interested to see how they translate to savage, even if I probably won't be doing them myself.
The new trial was really fun as well, I'll probably end up giving this extreme a go.

I'm just excited that I can have a Namazucotta army on my island.

I thought the new dungeon was very pretty. Loved the Final Fantasy 4 soundtrack remakes and story beats.

Haven't done the raids yet but seeing some good press. Looking forward to them this weekend.

Raids without cutscenes. Couldn't be happier.

Weekly removal coins from alliance (The Twelve) removed.

Far content to casually grind for 620 gear & casually grind Comedy’s while over time getting to 650.

Honestly there’s no incentive to grind on raid coins just for 630 when I can wait & get there for 650 upgrade.

The new raid actually gets a full thumbs up from me, atmosphere is okay but more so the difficulty is good and even in normal difficulty the raid is pretty challenging and compared to previous tiers is a lot less boring and requires quite a bit of focus.

The dungeon looks nice, however difficulty is really really low, mobs really hit like wet noodles, area is okay though.

Trial is pretty fun and has interesting mechanics in "normal" mode, I havent done ex though so I cant speak for that.

Overall content wise, the raid and trial are both pretty decent in terms of quality, the only thing underwhelming was the difficulty of the dungeon.

- music is ridiculously good.
- cutscenes are improving in terms of character movements, direction, etc.
- haven't touched new IS stuff yet, but really looking forward to it.
- increased WoL dialogue is good, I don't feel quite so 'point at a target and fire WMD'.

- The QoL changes are always nice to see. Job icons and double-clicking for comms are especially welcome.

- The music, as always, is excellent. Especially the dungeon theme, P11, and P12 (which I initially didn't really mesh with, but by god did it grow on me lightning fast)

- This raid tier is fantastic. The difficulty is just right, the mechanics are very fun, and every encounter being voice acted is the cherry on top of the already amazing cake. 10/10.

- Have yet to tackle the EX version, but the MSQ trial is also very fun. Not too hard, not too easy.

I love the msq. Really has me excited to see where the MSQ is going.

I LOVED the wrap up to Pandaemonium. I don't think I could be any happier with the ending of the story.

The new area in island sanctuary is really pretty.

The music is phenomenal. I spent 10mil on the P11 song without batting an eyelash - I was willing to pay 20mil.

- Music was very good. Athena, The Tireless One in particular is probably the best raid song since Return to Oblivion.
- Athena was a refreshing villain.
- This is the level of difficulty I want from normal raids and trials. More of that, please.
- Interestings mechanics introduced in P10-P12.
- Dungeon's second boss was fun.
- I like the tomestone gear for healer for once.

Pretty damn awesome a lot more than anyone ever expected. Can't say all the islands look the same anymore. Been collecting and posting images of the deco I see on twitter on my discord to share with friends there.

I keep saying we're going to get a house there at some point and I believe that is Prime Fanfest Material. Look forward to it.

And in the meantime ty the Cozy Cabin is starting to look like a real cabin one could live in and not a reception area. Wonder what the next upgrade with look like.

The model of the final Pandae boss is probably my favorite boss model in the game.

Hopefully no more Ascians... really tired of them.

Its the first thing I did once my download completed

I'm not ashamed to tell you I had some extremely emotional reactions to every FF4 piece of music. "FF2" on SNES - I must have played that and levelled all characters to 99 about 20 times as a child. I love that music and cast of characters so much.

I like the housing items. The rest of the patch though...

Adding Island Sanctuary outdoor furnishings have been a blessing.

For some reason, Aetherfont landscape feels and seems different from any place in terms of quality.

I felt sad tho, a beautiful and big scenario kept only in a instanced event - dungeon.
I wish we could explore more and i thought Troia established a different form to explore dungeons in new zones...but i was wrong.

I love how people feel the need to make a "let's thank the developers" thread whenever the multibillion-dollar megacorp gets any criticism. Is this a charity?

Alas, besides the fight quality, the new raids did in fact have something else neat: there's only one cutscene between each one, which makes it easy to skip all of them. I wish the MSQ was the same way, but you can't please everyone!

Why do you care? Plenty of threads to complain in.

Nice of you to leave a self-portrait though.

A good chunk of the new fights were actually fun. SE deserves some praise for making some normal fights that are decently engaging instead of a day 1 steamroll. P10 was a bit of a miss in my opinion and I kinda wish P11 didn't feel like E11: Electric Boogaloo but can't win 'em all.

Loved all of the new raids, especially P11. Trial is a lot of fun. Music throughout is wonderful.

The best thing, though? The bears in the dungeon. I love walking around the entrance and seeing how they're all chilling. It's SO GOOD.

Now I can play victim by saying people tried to silence my opinion like the most of you did in complaint thread.

The MSQ started off pretty slow but then got amazing. Really looking forward to where it goes in 6.5. The raids and trial were very fun on normal which was surprising, can't wait to do the extreme and savage versions. The raid story ended on a fantastic note as well after I wasn't really feeling the previous two entries. Overall enjoying the patch quite a bit! My only real complaint so far is I thought the increase to the healer bubble sizes, like Sacred Soil, were totally unnecessary and make the ability less fun.

I love how the usual forum trolls feel the need to make posts like this every time someone dares to not join their circle jerk.

I'll be in the minority and say that I like Zero's growth. It can be pretty corny at times but it can be hilarious at times too.
