New series crap.

Who else here just "plays" just to collect stuff?
I can't wait to be done again and never touch this garbage until the next rewards update. The FOMO in these rewards are so bad.

People who have no idea you're supposed to step on the thing

What's so crazy about "PVP" in this game is that one person can barely scratch another person. A whole team needs to work on one person to kill them which surprise surprise in a game with randos who can't communicate is nearly impossible to achieve.

Also, the latency is insane. I'm mashing my freaking keyboard already pressing buttons just for that Guard and Recuperate to pop.

So while I do not particularly care about your "FOMO rant", to say that the FOMO is so bad kinda amuses me. Once again, the Battlepass is there for 4 months - with exception to games that have non-expiring Battlepasses this is a significant smidge longer to complete Rank 25, which you are neither forced to grind out week 1 nor week 16, you can just play on occasion. So if you really want the absolute minimal experience, sacrificing 5-10min of your day for 3 months losing everytime guarantees it. And any extra matches you do shortens that time.

Alas, you will have to contend the idea of having below average teammates and above average enemies on occasion - or even the idea that you yourself (as in anyone reading this) may be the weak link in need of improving.

You and I are clearly playing different eras of PvP - it was the days of Feast where this was true in matches, in Crystalline Conflict this is more nuanced and overall lethality increased.

With a few exceptions such as Paladin and Scholar, most jobs have high damage potential but excel further into lethality, crowd control or defensive management. What people need to learn is using their full kit and their enemy matchups - of course you will struggle to kill a Paladin or Dark Knight (or anyone with Guard) if you throw your damage tools into their defensive cooldowns - just as you will struggle to survive if you dont use your own mitigation as the enemy is using their major damage tools on you.

Then there is also utilising walls and map terrain to your advantage. Or using map gimmicks to pressure or run away with.

And lastly, yes you can communicate. While not perfect and sorely lacking of a few options such as Focused Attack countdown and "I need help!" among other things, properly using quickchat and player markers can make a big difference.

Ya, the FOMO crap is nonsense. That said, the series rewards this season are really meh, at least to me. I'm not all that interested in minions and emotes and prefer armor sets, so the mount being the level 25 reward is kind of lame in a "battlepass" that is almost entirely crystal currency that I never know what to do with <_>.

I know pvp is second fiddle to the dev team, but I wish we got more out of the series pass.

Did we go back in time and start playing feast again? The TTK is extremely fast in CC, especially if there's a lot of burst jobs in the match...which there usually is.

Rewards in series 4 are absolute garbage. I'll just earn them through casual roulettes, while people piss and moan about how hard it is to get series 25 when it literally doesn't take that long to do.

Nobody is surprised that crystal rewards as usual remain complete and utter dog ****. Asking too much from a small indie dev to put previous feast or series rewards up for sale.

I guess it will get better after a week when the grinders have all the rewards. Better to do 1 match at max per day. I still think having old series rewards just vanish is bad. They could add past series rewards as crystal purchases.

i blame the JP community for this but eh its fine, i kinda like CC casual.

There's no Feast anymore. All there are is series rewards. If you don't want the rewards, you don't play PvP. PvP has never been good in XIV, and will probably never be nuanced and balanced, not that it was in any other game I've ever played.

I legit do not understand the complaints that the rewards are terrible and not worth getting, when there's literally no reason to play PvP now or then if the always-mediocre don't motivate you. Were people really so gung-ho about Feast to get a title they never use and a mount that might roulette in? XIV just doesn't have a culture of worship around PvP, and it doesn't make much sense to complain about the 'patch time rush' when it's not going to get better later.

Are you talking about CC? Because Sam's lb is really easy to play around.
Don't worry about others. Focus on yourself and you'll end up increasing your chances of winning from improvement.
If you care that much about losing and you find yourself on a streak, then take a break and come back at another time.
