Insane XP rates ruining the game

I'm level 80+, I don't fight most of the time because every mob ignores me, so open world is pretty much me suffering through running to places and back and another place and back, with zero fighting as the level difference make me immune to agro.

I think I got to level 80 before I unlocked the my trainer quest to get the top end skills that I've been running around without since 60-70.

I'm getting purple on my main gather, but can't buy anything as I don't have access to vendors that take purple.

And if you just say run the MSQ, well what the hell do you think I'm doing, all the ignored side quests is ruining the map I can't see the MSQ and have to suffer through that. The difference between one yellow icon with a ! and another with another symbol is not that easy to see, to know what NPC to click on.

Ignoring all those side quest ruins the story, as most of them is flavor to flesh out the story and they suffer badly from being done out of sync with the MSQ,

I've not ONCE done any party stuff or XP stuff OUTSIDE of MSQ. I got to level 40 before I returned to the MSQ and figured out it unlocked a lot of stuff, like a mount/companion. (I like enjoying the environment and running so it never bothered me much)

60+ is painful as everything is MSQ locked, so if you outlevel it on your main job, you get to suffer badly and Crafters just get it even worse as it is rather easy to get 90 on those without MSQ XP.

Getting downleveled over and over, means I have no bloody clue how to play my char as I constantly lose buttons and never really get to practice as that would just pile on more XP that I don't need. I actually tried to disable the idiotic road to 80 buff, who thought that was a good idea to give fresh accounts? It ruins the experience. It should be something you give to alt chars, not noobs.

Have you not unlocked the scrips npcs? Even without the road to 80 the xp at lower levels is pretty crazy. Most people will advise new people to level up other jobs so that they don't over level too badly the MSQ. Which yes blocks most side stuff there are some that only unlock if you have crafters/gathers leveled. You probably aren't missing much in zone stories if you skip those that don't have picture of the npcs involved with the quest line.

It really is too late to reach you. On our server, sprouts with the buff tend to distribute the msq-xp to several jobs. It still isn't a perfect solution and it will not help you with people that expect you to have done job-quests, although those are locked for you still, just because they see your level. Some just don't understand what this speed feels like when you are just beginning.

The buff levels you super fast and so many sprouts on Raiden I met ended up undergeared and without access to their job quests and a bit lost on the way. I would probably try to pick up one of the jobs that start at higher levels if they fit your msq's level better and if you are, at all, interested in them.

I started this week and transferred to seraph for extra xp. I for one like it. My first job of paladin got to level 50, but MSQ is only at about level 41 so I started the summoner job and got it to 30 pretty quickly. Will level both at the same time when I get the summoner to level 41. Haven't done any crafting or gathering yet, may do that after ARR.

Back in my days (not so long ago, 4 years), we didn't have EXP to reach the next MSQ in ARR. I had to spend some time doing levequests/fates/roulettes to level up until i was able to proceed with the MSQ.
Now you can level multiple jobs and quickly access necessary sides to unlock more content...your game is more dynamic and active than before. I see no reason to complain.

While I've enjoyed levelling jobs on my alt with the road buff, sprouts on a road world might level faster than they learn their game, imo. Especially, if they do not have prior mmo-experience. You drown in tutorial popups and so many different menues and old systems - while you level super fast. This is so much easier when you know the ropes, because you have seen it all, have unlocked everything (maybe on another character), know where to get what.
Of course there will be people who enjoy switching from one job to another and levelling 4 with the msq, others might just want to stick to one job and one role for their start.

Having things to unlock faster might even add to the confusion some have, because they are hard pressed to choose what to unlock and what to postpone. Honestly, the sheer amount of blue quests is daunting to new players. There are videos around for this sorting through all of them to pick out the more important ones and those vids targeted sprouts levelling without that buff.

Right now if you are on a road-server, you either outlevel everything and forgoe the msq-xp or you spread it out to different jobs. Those are your options. So, I for one, completely understand the OPs wish to be able to turn the buff off. The only other option I see for you @ Miravlix would be to start fresh on a server without that prefered status, so you'd have a slower pacing.

The overworld is basically just a visual to tell the story, unless you cross an A or S rank monsters will usually not bother you unless they are quest related. If they aggro you can run 10 meters to lose them while they hit you for 1% of your hp per 3secs or kill them in 10 seconds for exp that is beyond unreasonable.

At the very start of the game the areas can feel a bit dangerous, but once you hit the lv 50 milestone, it will be VERY hard to find a monster that can kill you or even threaten you. The game goes heavy into gating, you wont get to the next area unless the main quest allows you to, which only happens if you are equal level to the mobs, at which point their harmless.

That is why as a new player I made the character on a server that doesnot have buff . So that is the easy solution that op missed

They did have an option and that was to make a character on non preferred server .
