It doesn't fix any issue of the game.
another terrible live letter that brings nothing new to the table except the savage change, what a shocker
what's new ?
I liked it. :)
I thought it was quite fun.
I'm super hyped for IS outdoor furnishings and some of the mounts.
Not happy about more long robes for my Red Mage, lol.

Savage gearing changes are great, glad to see they've listened to feedback regarding that, as it has been a huge pain point in Abyssos especially with practically every job requiring the weapon and chest for BiS.
Seeing positive changes in response to criticisms and complaints is always a good thing, hopefully they continue to listen to feedback and we get more positive changes going into 7.0!
Well, I enjoyed the 6.4 trailer at least
100% agree. Fanfest is going to be a critical moment for info. Since EW was already designed and they are just following a script Fanfest should reveal who this game is going to be for in the next few years. But maybe the game just isn't for us anymore. Massive disappointment but what are we gonna do.
What a shocking post from OP. Never saw this coming.
its almost as if you havent seen the direction its going in.
they have been listening, it seems, more to the people that dont want to group in an mmo, and increasing the solo content availability with things like Trrusts
that direction doesnt impress me much, but for me, isnt at that tipping point yet, but it is increasingly obvious. I expect that to continue in 7.0
Patch looks great.

They gotta ERP somewhere.
I agree, but there is still enough other content that I'm still content - for now. But I spend a lot of time solo in nearly all MMOs I play given that's the direction they've gone in as far as the genre as a whole.
I actually do like that they are creating the MSQ to be pretty much soloable though - FFXIV has a fantastic story that they want to share with their single-player fans, and now they can experience it as well. You'd be surprised at how often I hear from people that they hate forced grouping, and the tiny amount we still have in FFXIV is a huge issue for them. lol
it would be nice... if you were grouping with friends to be able to MSQ with them. kind of an irritation to be doing story with them and then.. "solo quest". its disappointing, but not going to burn down the house over it as yet. besides, as you pointed out, a lot of mmos are going this direction
Big agree. Would be nice if they
-Allowed people to stay in groups while doing solo duties
-Allowed people to level sync down with NG+ to play with friends
-Allowed people to do NG+ for leveling. It would probably not be a popular leveling path, but having more options is always good and it would hurt nobody.
A ton of people are extremely excited about 6.4 from all the various places online. Everyone gets free housing, all our favorite characters return (Golbez, Zero), and we get a ton of new gameplay with the Variant dungeon. But most importantly…look at the OP. Yep, it’s him again. You know what he thinks, so you know what you need to think in response (the opposite).
I mean, come on. This is Final Fantasy XIV. Everything’s good, everything’s fine, we’re all enjoying it, and all the other MMOs are a waste of time because FFXIV is still the best. I play 20 hours a day and still have a ton to do, etc. Better than Shadowlands and so forth.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have other games to play while going AFK.
As a famous bald man once (every few couple of minutes on stream) said "Its is what it is". And thats how I feel about this patch. Its nothing groundbreaking, nothing offensive, just stuff weve already expected based on previous information we already knew.
So Im satisfied, I just feel sorry for the people who foolishly thought that somehow this was gonna answer all of their wishes.
I'm honestly not to happy with the possibility that top 100 rewards might be coming back for PVP especially with all the cheaters running rampant and the horrible balance that is Crystal Conflict to begin with.
I'm pleasantly happy that they've addressed two of my big non job design related issues, mitigation/buff range and savage gearing. Obviously there isn't going to be extensive job design changes until the next expac but it's nice to see that they've taken issues with the current system in mind too. The 4th floor books being exchangeable too is an amazing change, so overall I think I'm satisfied as well for what we got.
I would suggest just looking into other games if the current state of the game doesn't agree with you.
I've posted a lot of feedback in the forums over the years, and admittedly, sure, they weren't all that well presented, nor was I consistently level-headed in my approach, but they're very critical of the direction of the game, and the devs just didn't really care for it.
I think Square is just really dead set into making FFXIV into whatever their own vision is, and they'd rather replace the core players who fell in love with the old iterations with new ones. And that's fine I guess. It's their game. They can do whatever they want with it.
ARPGs like Path of Exile are popping off if you're really into buildcrafting. I heard Guild Wars 2 is doing pretty well with the raids. WoW is slowly getting there again (even though it's still pretty awful, but hey baby steps.) Destiny is a decent break (even tho it's also slowly going down the same path that Square is going, but hey at least there's more complexity and depth in that game).
The only real niche that FF14 has right now is that it's probably one of the best social MMOs out on the market. So really, if you're disappointed with the PvP or PvE, I wouldn't really waste my energy trying to convince anyone ( especially Naoki Yoshida ) that what the dev team is doing is a very bad idea. It will never pay off.
Let's just hope that the Riot MMO is good. Can't wait to be a Noxian Warrior with a massive two-hander, cleaving everything in two.
I thought it was fine. Would have liked them to talk about some changes to variant dungeon rewards, but overall it was what I expected. Just like every other LL more or less.
What did people expect? Yoshi-P to break down crying and personally remove all the things you do not like? There are things I want them to change and adress sure but not every criticism you have will be adressed in LL's and not eveyone agrees they even need to be. Besides, its a mid-late expansion patch. Any ‘big’ changes are likely to come in 7.0.
The best combination is to use FFXIV as a chatroom or like Second Life while playing other games. It’s not something you actively play, just something you use to find people to play other games with. Player-generated content has become the “killer feature” of FFXIV that sets it apart from everything else. Second Life and VRChat are hard to use in comparison.
Sad to see a $13/month MMO become akin to a free-to-play chatroom, but people love it, so just invest in a second monitor or Switch and enjoy what you can. Because, on the bright side, FFXIV lets you play games that are far, far better than it, and we only have Yoshida to thank for that.
Fairy glamour for SCH is music to my ears.
Bonus points if we get obsidian carbuncle as an option.
Otherwise, as per usual, I will be reserving judgement until I complete the patch.
just looked meh
I didn't like that you only need 1 of a furniture item to place as many copies as you want in the IS. I know that this is very minor but did decorating the island need to be that easy? For some players, having to work for the gil to buy each item could give them something to do for a while.
As someone who enjoys selling furniture in the marketboard, that's kind of a shame.
These forums are beyond screwed. What the hell were y'all expecting?
YoshiP to give us an official dogeza with tears in his eyes. For him to yield control of FFXIV and leave its development to the forum. To immediately magically snap up an exploratory zone and implement it not even in 6.4 but next Tuesday without delay. For Endwalker to be rewritten so that the Ascians were right all along and get their world back. For Garlemald to be restored entirely. For Kaiten to make its triumphant return and jobs to almost entirely return to Stormblood design. For Loporrits to be deleted from the game and for Housing Demolition to be scrapped entirely. For everyone who ever visited an ingame nightclub to be permanently banned.
No more modern glam (cringe!), but also no medieval armor glam (boring!) but also no flashy glam (childish and garish), but also no culturally-inspired glam (boring and derivative!)
Something like that, I reckon, to start with.
Where my thancred and wol romance?
Where my hilda ponytail!??
bad gaem!!
I say we get more burgers with 4k resolution and 12,000 polygons.
But seriously, how have the forums gotten like this? Just the same group of people posting overly negative threads and arguing with people making positive ones, as if anything not overly critical of the game is "toxic positivity." These people can shove it.
