Soooo what's the maintenance on NA DCs for?

Not a complaint because I'm a grown adult and I can entertain myself, but assuming I'm reading this correctly it's 10 hours worth of maintenance. That's sort of a big deal.

You can't tell me not to be curious about this. Or worried. Or both.

It's infrastructure maintenance. That's always going to take a while because that's not the sort of thing you can hot swap or hotfix in most cases.

Thats a heavy task indeed, I was upset some "normal maintenance" was 10 hours, nah this is heavy i won't be surprised if it takes longer than the 10 hours they said it was going to take.

It's possible, this is the only good thing about having to work 10 hours is hopefully by the time I get home the service will be up and I'll be able to play if not I guess I'll play deep Rock galactic, pulsar lost colony, or something else today

"Dynamis was a mistake. We've evenly distributed the servers into the original pool, and we gave Primal and extra server. The next expansion will be adding the two missing servers to Aether and Crystal to compensate for the disparity."

Nah, Materia wasnt a mistake, it just came too late to take in the newer populous. And while EW had the largest player count overall than any other expansion so far its also got the largest dip in active players, definitely the worst expansion to keep players active/engaged. Think with the next expansion we'll see things start to even out across the DCs if EWs end and the expansion trailer and info is enough to peak players interests and bring folks back.

All we can do is hope. At least with Materia, that's it. You can't leave so you have to make the best of it. With Dynamis, nobody actively stays. So there's a large chunk leaving to queue which kills the queues here. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. I don't leave for anything, but Eureka and even then, I stay for logs to level. But I don't blame the people for leaving. SE let this happen with how they handled DC travel.

Was mentioned in a recent interview, that with these upgrades, some features we've been asking for will be able to be implemented, such as additional glamour plates. (that was quoted specifically, infer what you will about other possible features).

I missed that one! Do you have a link? More glamour plates is love. I'm a sad panda that my DoH and DoL all look the same because there isn't enough for at least one for all possible classes.

To be fair, it might be a self fulfilling prophecy, but it's not one Dynamis started. Even before DC came people had slowly started to form opinions that Aether was the DC for content, Primal was the DC for PVP and Crystal was the DC for RP. That's another self fulfilling prophecy that everyone else has stuck to since DC travel came about.

People really ruin things for themselves.
