Someone noticed that after all duty roulettes, the equipment is about 60% condition? You dont need to die to equipment decay, fail to dodge any damaging mechanic or take damage, apear to be damaging equipment now.

Amazing if true tbh. Failing hard in duties trashing your gear and costing dark matter/gil to sort would be an amusing twist.
Granted, it could be a problem in raid progression.
This has always been a thing.
It's not taking damage or failing to dodge that decays it, it is the amount of enemies killed and duties completed. Dying ofc as well.
Worked like that since I started playing during 6.0 last year.
Idk why people say it’s always been a thing because it’s never been a thing. Reinhardt is correct as to the two possible causes of gear decay: dying and killing things.
The difference observed might have to see with which specific duties have been completed by OP and how: the more ennemies you kill, the more the gear degrades. For example, if one runs the same dungeon twice, gear should degrade less if mobs are skipped vs another run where the group kills everything. Some duties might have more things to kill too.

To my knowledge, the last change to gear durability was in patch 5.3 where they changed the moment it is processed for killing ennemies to the time the duty is completed: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...93f6c354e4dc8e
As someone who is an omni crafter I never really pay attention to it because repairs are only a right click away.
I wonder if it's still impacted by durability items like the Squadron manual? That would be an easy thing to test as well.
Equipment goes down in durability just from doing content. I've not fully tested it but I think equipment fully soulbound degrades slower than those that have not.
Dying will take a hit to all pieces so it'll break faster with repeated deaths.
I believe that after this patch the decaying rate was increased, I dont remember keep fixing gear after each roulette
I run lots of roulettes during a week and maybe once every week have to repair few gear items. But when it happens its nothing, I just hit repair all and done.
i go down the list and do each rou every day just by myself and often a 2nd or 3rd time with friends who need it mostly just to get tomes and materia.
i haven't noticed any significant durability issues and it isn't going down to 60% after a single rou either.
are you sure you didn't just switch to a class/job that already had durability loss on its equipment and forget? or you didn't update your gearset? because i just did an ally rou as a level 89 drk and my gear's at 96%ish.
