WARRIOR!
Rawr1!1111
I'm quite partial to healers myself, with SCH taking the top spot and WHM a close second. Similar to you, though, I think the one I just straight up enjoy the most is RDM. Red Mage in all its varieties has been one of my favorites since all the way back in FF1.
Gunbreaker. Because I can use a gunblade, my favorite weapon in the franchise.
I like playing sage :3 leveling mch atm and it does look really cool not going to lie. Ast was my favourite before they dumbed down the cards.
Red Mage, far and away. You get black magic, white magic, unique red magic, a dash of swordplay, acrobatics to yeet yourself out of awkward social situations (and sometimes out of existence altogether), and hands-down the best drip out of any job FIGHT ME.
Summoner in Shadowbringers was my main job, but then they gutted it and I had to switch to BLM and SCH =(
Summoner and Red Mage. Summoner because of the awesome summons that feel like you're actually summoning massive espers (they're still espers to me) to attack your enemies and Red Mage for the versatility.
Hmm...
Armamentalist
Gadabout
Mog Knight
Catmancer
What? You didn't say it had to be this game. :P

FFXI Dancer for me, I love the support abilities and the cures ( curing waltz 1-5) if said WHM, RDM, SCH or PLD does lol as well as it's debuffs it can put on the enemies ( Box Steps, Studder Step, Quick Step, Feather Step)
and their Sambas, I love Haste Samba
it may not be a True DPS and some people might choose THF than a DNC because of Treasure Hunter procs but I still love DNC
it's so much fun to me

Dance Dance the night away
I really like Sage.
For me this is fluid, and never remains static. It can be SAM for a couple of weeks, then switch to DNC for the next month. Sometimes I might want to do content as one of the healers. Other times new glamours will make that job my recent favorite. It can also be a confidence thing, and I will take the job I am the most comfortable with into more difficult instances.
Despite all that, my FC mates will always see me as a SCH main. If Yoshi-P came to me and showed me all these cool job stone replicas and said I can choose just one to have. SCH is most certainly the one I would choose to take. While it is not always the most fun for me to play, it is the job I love the most. My sig probably says it all here.
from what i've played so far
blackmage 1st because explosions
summoner-is fun but i wish for more pets
reaper-(probably would be higher) if i played more atm
Warrior: berserk (please make berserk a full rotation in the future)
Ninja/monk tied for this place both are fun with the jutsu and torando kick comboas
redmage-a bit 2 easy to be fun in my opinion
ast: seems like cards are pointless but eh
scholar: just doesnt feel special at all most you got to your name is a fairy
I wasn't expecting this when I started, but Dancer became it, it just feels nice, plus En Avant my beloved.
Of course, this is discounting the true best job, Blue Mage, that has to be held back otherwise would be the only job played in the entire game bar none, obviously.
Black Mage easily. I love having some skill expression and complexity in jobs. Despite what I've seen some people say, Black Mage has plenty of mobility.
SGE and RPR
Tie between Black Mage and Dragoon as of now
For me it's Ninja for three reasons.
1: It has a high APM (highest out of all jobs last time I checked) keeping you busy throughout the fight.
2: The versatility of its ranged kit offers the job a ton of room for uptime optimisation.
3: I really like the visuals. All of its animations are aesthetically pleasing from the mudras to the shadow clone that mirrors your actions to the frog medium.
WHM and AST
Oh right this also needs a few qualifiers...
In Bozja, most fun in WHM, did anyone say Lost Seraph Strike? Glare Mage becoming top tier DPS is incredibly fun, and the fact that Seraph Strike combines flawlessly with Thin Air, an ability that is otherwise not particularly exciting makes it so fun, even the fact that Thin Air has two charges works out flawlessly, one syncs up with Swiftcast for rezzes, and one syncs up with Seraph Strike.
Monk. I like punching. Plus I can Majima breakdance on some fools.
Black Mage and Ninja
White Mage a thousand times over. If for some reason they eliminated WHM I would quit the game outright. I know some people poo poo the blandness of it, (Aria, I am looking at YOU!), but the simplicity of WHM is what I love. The heals are straightforward, the combat not a complex rotation. It's simple, stress free, and relaxing.
Dancer for DPS. Same reason as WHM. It's a quick and simple rotation, just hit the glowys at the right times for awesome attacks. Plus you get to move around and look hot in your outfit while doing it!
WHM will always be my default choice even if I'm frankly rather tired of how it plays now.
When I'm chewing through casual content I'll go as DNC, it seems to strike a good balance of buffing (I was a Shaman in EQ and WoW and a BRD in FFXI) with just enough healing capability to allow me to step up to the plate if the group's healer drops the ball for whatever reason.
Well, I like playing all jobs with the exception of Paladin lol. Though if I have to choose the ones I play the most is DRK, GNB, SCH and SAM.
Gonna dance till I die, baby.
Warrior, though it is really really brain dead. I am having fun with warrior in wow again though, so I guess it still applies.
Ninja, Sage and Warrior, but if I haven't played Ninja in a while I tend to forget my muscle memory for my mundras. But Ninja is my favorite.
Been maining WHM since 2014, and also had Summoner / Scholar as my ALT since then. Most expansions those were the only two classes I bothered getting to Max.
For the first time I've been max-leveling many more classes, and my favorites presently are Sage for Healing, Warrior for tanking, and Summoner for DPS. WHM will always be my WoL's "main" class though and hold a special place for me.
I also enjoy Dragoon & Bard (only 82 but will be 90 next), and occasionally Dancer. I prefer Summoner to them as aside from the visual spectacle, it's fairly easy not to have to be checking my bars for procs and can just enjoy the battle more. The random procs on Bard and Dancer reduce my overall enjoyment of those classes as I have to be checking my bar more often, though the support style is enjoyable to me overall so I still have them as some primary alts.
I have a few other classes at 90 but mostly don't play them anymore since I feel the other classes I've chosen fit my personality better.
DRK, but really any of the tank jobs because of the main character vibes. But mostly DRK because of the high APM opener.
Favorites:
DRG, GNB, SCH/SGE
Fun but don't play them as much as favs:
MCH, RDM, DRK, NIN
Wouldn't play them if you paid me:
DNC, WHM
Indifferent:
Everything else
PvP dancer before 6.1 shitstorm
Monk. I like how simple it is while still having options to spice it up.
You also punch and kick things in the face.
Gunbreaker, because it's the most fun tank (sorry, Warrior. You will always be my first love). Also, gunblade.
Ninja comes at a close second. Brings me back to my middle school days of doing the Naruto run everywhere.
Dancer and Monk are also pretty fun.
Dancer, Summoner and Sage are the three classes I seem to have the most fun with. I am a huge, huge fan of mobility above all else, heh.
I'm the same way, really. The new summoner was a huge revelation to me because I had tried the job in the past and decided I didn't care for it. To me, it was like a slower version of WoW's affliction warlock. With this expansion, I guess for many people it went from overly complex to way too simple for them to like it.
But for me, the job clicks. You just know when you found the right job for you. Just like you found scholar. :). ((For what's it's worth I love scholar also. It's a great job. I'm just a better healer on white mage. For character backstory, Kacho is a descendant of Nymans.))
It's funny you say all your FC mates see you as a scholar main. For me, you will always be the monk who helped my arcanist out *mumble* years ago. In fact, it was you who inspired me to check out monk on my alt! :D
Out of curiosity, how far did get with DNC and WHM before you decided they were not for you?
So, what job do you like now?
Mobility is a new concept for me. I'm too used to playing turret classes. But, it is fun, isn't it? It's one of the things I really enjoy about bards and reapers.
Blue mage, nothing else holds a candle. Except maybe fisher.
