You see people exceed 20 often on primal. Being in the right spot with good timing is huge.
The screenshot is mostly just for the luls. I'm a pretty big opportunist in FL which is why my damage is meh lol. Get max battle high then just be pretty aggressive and finish off people who are low on HP.
Its called focus targeting. Burst the players that are low on HP and rack up the kills. Its not really all that much luck.
I don't play too much FL anymore since I'm just grinding for the long-term titles at this point. When I do, I generally am at the top unless I'm memeing with something I don't play often. It's kind of hard to determine if someone is just picking up K.O. off other people's backs or is doing most of the work without spectating though. High assists is good anyway you cut it though because it means the people you are hitting are in fact getting taken out.
Agree to disagree Ninja and Black Mage are way better at lifting kills off other intentionally. Cleaving a low group after a skyshatter does produce some funny results though.
Unironically, kind of miss the old days where bard had to beg RNG for an actual kill credit, or spam AoEs on teams to build battle high. You'd think people playing Onsai would notice that. Still crowd control effects are such a buzzkill in PvP these days, and bard has plenty of them, so they're pretty strong, and it's a small mercy to anyone achievement hunting. A good change overall.
Frontline wise, still also feel old Black Mage better knew what it was supposed to be, Burst feels real awkward to use in fights that big, yes it's powerful plus barrier but point-blank AoE design frequently makes you defy logic to get the most out of it. Plus no real need to alternate fire and ice for mana reasons, just kill ones, which can make fighting Black Mages either insufferably difficult, or cheesy, but at the same time feels alien to control when playing as them if you haven't played it thoroughly. Having mained Warlock back in WoW, it felt good to be a turret and knowing why pressing a button worked. A feedback issue, I know.
Also when isn't the ninja kill stealing? :)
Kills in frontlines are extremely biased toward OGCD heavy classes (and has always been) for the simple reason that being able to spamm hits is the best way to land a killing blow. BRD's empyreal is an amazing tool to secure kills, although you can't spamm it, it still weaves well between GCDs. There isn't that many jobs in pvp with OGCD hitters since the rework which makes controlling killing blows a lot less easy than it used to be. DRK is still a king for that because of that very reason.
The only thing I see between those two screenshots is one that maybe was more skilled at securing kills than the other (with the same party damage), or possibly as well someone that was just lucky vs someone that wasn't, and tbh, kills in FLs has a big luck component to it.
truth i use to bring a lvl 30 in a all 45 game and every time i killed some 1exp wow by the end of the day max lvl im a good pvp killer it was more fun killing people then npc
