Educand's female set doesn't come with hat, yet is the same price???

What the actual fuck, Square Enix.

Why does the new uniform glam set from the Mogstation is priced the same yet one has a hat and the other doesn't? It doesn't come with any sort of headgear?? I was so excited when I saw the news, only to be disappointed instantly. It was going to be an instant buy for me, now I'm not even sure If its worth it.

It feels like they're purposely trying to rip us off.

Meanwhile us Vieras and Hrothgars dun get the hats so its three items for $18 :')

As a Viera who can't wear hats, I suppose the comical silver lining is that both outfits are actually of equal value to us (/s)

It feels like they’re cutting corners here.

New glam pieces don’t accommodate Viera/Hroth. There’s no headpiece for the skirt option. Events accumulate to one bland quest. Emotes don’t cycle or they look outright silly - looking at you Loprrit emote - and so on.

$18 for another single character glamour again, too. lol. lmao.

Couldn't we get a ribbon or something? Different style/position/something to the other schoolgirl ribbon?

Oh well. Another outfit that's not worth the price. When did they release Street Attire? This was the last outfit that was actually good in quality. Saving us money Square, thanks.

Getting very lazy as of late. One hairstyle per patch if we are lucky along with the lack of everything else. Meanwhile over on FF16.....

Mogstation glams once again trying to push the boundries on how low you can go in terms of minimum viable product it seems.

I don't like the set overall (and wish the constant modern glamours were not a thing) but I am very tempted to buy this for the sole point that it appears to be our only instance of an all-classes knee-length skirt with full tights under it. I need to confirm that they're not just really long socks, but if not then it's something I've really wanted for glamours in the past and will likely find a use for it now.

Meanwhile, a new design of hair ribbon would have been a huge extra selling point to me. May well have convinced me to buy the set just to get the ribbon for at least one character even if I don't want the other bits.

The sailor top and pair #173 of ugly ankle-length shoes, on the other hand, would be getting buried at the bottom of my retainer inventory and probably never seeing the light of day.

I like how devs cant just add all items in 1 listing, like Fat Cat one.

To be fair, they seem to always set a limit of five pieces per set, and while the Fat Cat set squeezes in a single group of five (full outfit minus gloves, plus second pair of pants), these have three and four individual pieces so wouldn't fit into that template.

Plus, then they'd charge a higher price for it and then I'd have to buy even more pieces I'm not going to use, if all I want is the skirt.

Okay, having actually tried the skirt on now, it has a weird inward crease at the centre front like it's almost trying to split into pants. Does this bug anyone else?

As ridiculous as it sounds, it somehow makes me feel kind of uneasy to look at it. Something about how the shadows bounce off it as the camera turns, maybe...?

I only value this set for the hat but unfortunately SE doesnt care for 1/4 of this games playable races and their players not getting what they pay for.
$18 is more than a monthly sub and hrothgar and viera arent getting what they buy because....heck if I know.

I don't really care about the house myself. I just wish on the school girl set, the leggings could be detached from the skirt. Would have loved a good pair of leggings to use on other sets.

From what I've (vaguely) heard, the set was supposed to come with a red armband, but they nixed it because of possible contentious IRL associations.

Street Attire is 6 pieces, in fact it uniquely comes in a coffer when other Mogstation items come as individual pieces, because they can't fit 6 items in a single message, but they can fit one item that splits into 6 on use.

I stand corrected then. You're still paying more for the Street Attire than for a single outfit though.

From my point of view, the Educand's Attire designs were heavily inspired by the traditional Japanese school uniforms, both male and female uniforms. Traditionally, it's the male uniform that comes with hat, while the female uniform comes with sailor style neck and tie, thus, when adopted into the Mog Station, the female/skirt version doesn't have the hat like the male/slacks version.

That's a shame, I really love the armband version of the sailor uniform. In my opinion, 18usd for the in game costume set is quite a bit too much for my liking. While I do like the style of the skirt one for the sailor uniform, I think I might grab it during the sale.

Isn't there a separate team in charge of mogstation-exclusive item creation?

In that case, it feels like that team should get their shit together. I don't necessarily mind continuing to not buy mogstation items, but it is pretty silly to watch them try to wring money out of people with cut corners, such as the entire fiasco with the Gaia attire (no hairstyle, one-piece outfit) and now this, with one set having one less item and the other set having a headpiece but Hrothgar and Viera still can't use it.

The point is not the lack of hat, but the lack of headgear altogether. A ribbon or hairbow or similar would be just as good.

The female set also dyes terribly.

But none of the stockings in this game come by themselves. They're always attached to a skirt, shorts or underwear. When they're not attached to the feet slot. I do wish we could just get just leggings/stockings by themselves. Along with shoes that didn't come with the feet portion of the socks/stockings.

check it via dreamfitting, but on the shirt piece the tie part always turn into a darker, grayish version of the color you picked and to me it looks gross. IMO the tie should dye the exact color picked and the shirt should be a lighter version of it, or just allow the tie to be dyed instead of the whole shirt.

Yes! I’d actually like one with the same head position as the schoolgirl ribbon, because it sits just right on my ponytail and none of the other ribbons do. Only without the pattern… maybe a solid color version, so I don’t have to have the pink sub-color when I really want all red!

I'm more annoyed that they had a chance to make the socks with the loafers higher but screwed it up and decided to make the leggings part of the skirt. Could've added reusability/value to the other school outfit. I get that they probably wanted to make a tights look but c'mon the opportunity was right there.

The fat cat attire had a bigger problem.

Why is the hood more like a nun's habit than an actual hood?

They should've just given players two versions of the chest. One with the hood up and one with the hood down, and the latter disallows head glam, like ye olde ARR hooded robes.

Another hat that I can't wear, SE makes it easier for me to not buy their optional stuff.

I actually don't think they can make the socks higher and still tight-fitting unless they make them into part of the leg piece rather than the foot piece, or they would behave like knee-high boots (going over rather than under long pants) and probably need to be bulky like boots as well.

And leggings being part of the skirt is itself a massively valuable aspect of that outfit. There are so very few skirts in this game with anything underneath, and they tend to be either miniskirts or floor-length.

There’s an easy way to fix the issues with this outfit (and the price), but we can’t talk about that on these forums ;)
