Frontline, joke of a PvP mode (3v3)

Who in their right mind thought 3v3 was a good idea. Your team can be dominating until the very last seconds, only to be focused by both teams to the point its literally impossible to get out of spawn, then watch one of those two teams ignore the other and let them get all of the points behind the other two.

There's a reason why in sports and pretty much any other competition, its two teams against each other, (unless the multiple teams have nothing to do with each other like races with multiple lanes) Because strength in numbers matters insanely.

They should just get rid of a third team for frontline.
This also is just another way of not keeping things too competitive and making sure everyone doesn't feel like they lost too much because oh, we can't do anything because both of the teams are hard focusing us.

Which has the opposite effect, causing the people who get focused to become extremely annoyed and agitated.

Man. Can't even do these crappy daily frontlines without it feeling like a waste.

If they did you'd just complain about how the other team is completely and utterly dominating yours the entire match. lol

That's the whole point of having 3 teams. Avoid unilateral victory. Frontlines is not about being the best at pvp, it's about having a strategy depending of how good your team is. And if a team is clearly better, having the other two team up for a time is the best way to try to win. That's why (nearly) every pre-wow pvp oriented mmo had a three faction system. Most people don't seem to understand that, seeing how people don't even look at their map for node spawns.

That said, in frontline, it often end with people fighting for the second place. So I don't really see where that complain come from.

This man really just said FR is about strategy, can I have a :joy: emoji please? It's just a meatgrinder, and whoever has the numbers and more healers takes the objective 99% of the time.

An actual coordinated group can win games more than an uncoordinated group. Sure having the meta jobs for FL gives you an edge, but if they are just running around doing whatever you aren't going to win vs someone actually playing objectives.

3v3 was a good idea in FL for the same reason it was a good idea in planetside and other large scale combat games. 3rd party fights keeps one side from just completely dominating.

I don't want to be that guy, but Frontlines are less of a 3v3 and more of a 1v1v1.

As much as the 3-sided gameplay can be jarring, I think the bigger issues is the massive team sizes and insane damage reductions which massively lower the impact what solo player can do.

They should have made the games smaller and shorter, which would also let them remove the stupid durability changes. Now it's just mostly zerg fest where people come semi-afk for their exp.

If you want to have a very large impact as a solo player, I wouldn't be looking at FL, but more at CC. That's not to say that you don't have an impact as a solo player in FL, especially if you make an effort to callout for your team, however should should be focusing targets and coordinating your skills to get the maximum effect.

I don't disagree with your comment regarding DR either, I'm hopeful that upcoming changes will include job-specific rather than role-based DR for FL (one can always dream). I'm not a particular fan of short games in FL, if I want a frenetic pace I would go to CC which favours someone who just wants to get in and get out asap. That's fine- however I don't consider -let's say 12- 15 minutes- to be too long of an investment.
