How can they be more boring and uninteresting than EW Y'shtola, whose entire personality revolves around "omg knowledge"?
the only thing boring uninteresting and unlikeable is your attempts at trolling the forums
Zero cannot be the most unlikeable character while Alphinaud and Alisaie exist. At least Venat and Minfilia were kind enough to die, but those two just insist on hanging around.

If only this came true...
I wish she'd do something other than act generic and tip her fedora in every scene.
For me the most unlikeable character is Y'stola. Maybe it's the english translation, but I find her very condescending towards the WOL and other characters. She did from the start. I never liked her. Pseudo intelligent, very annoying. She just ruffles my feathers the wrong way. I love the twins, specially Alisaie.
For me the Most Boring was Papalymo.
He was so uninteresting, they killed him off in such a quick and unceremonious way.
Zero Im still willing to give the chance that MAYBE she could become interesting later.
I liked her in 6.2 but I think the story just kind of wore me down with her in 6.3. I think that the one dimensional Scions in ARR take the cake for being more unlikable but they got fleshed out more in the follow on expansions mostly.
My personal headcanon is that the WoL and Y'shtola are constantly butting heads and arguing, if only because that explains her attitude towards the WoL. Think Ryoko and Ayeka fighting in the Tenchi Muyo franchise for an example of the level of butting heads. Care enough to not kill each other, but are ALWAYS butting heads.
She's not great but all the Scions are at least as terrible.
Despite being an antagonist, he is still a "main character" so I say Zenos in everything after Stormblood is the worst character. As his entire personality is wanting to fight the WoL.
Alisaie is my least favorite character who keeps showing up. The only cutscenes I skip when leveling alts through the story, are the ones she's in.
Zero is the parody of a depressed teenager. I struggle to see how anyone would write a character like her in a (supposed) serious plot like FFXIV. She'd fit better as a background joke character in a school romcom manga.
There has not been a time I've seen that Zero was looking for pity or attention.
no the most unlikable protag in 14 is thancred bc he emotionally abused a girl so bad she wanted to die just so he'd be happy. It took nearly bleeding to death for him to realize ryne did nothing wrong.
The next most unlikable is every antagonist because I usually enjoy ff villains and theres not a single one here who deserves representation in the next REAL dissidia game god even the pope in 13 is less by-the-numbers and boring.
OP, how can you even ask this when Lyse exists and gets so much hate. Zero hasn't been around long enough to earn that title.
She and Golbez are the only interesting things about post-EW's story to me at the moment because Im curious to know what theyre planning on doing with them. Especially Zero.
The most unlikable character is Alphinaud, Alisae and Zenos.
I've yet to really form much of an opinion on Zero since we're still in the earlier stages of their character development, though can't say I dislike the direction the story has taken so far.
And whilst this is, of course, entirely subjective I find Godbert Manderville more unlikeable. I don't WANT to see that idiot running around in his underpants any time he appears. I DON'T find his repetitive antics funny - if anything he epitomises the 'Overly-long Gag' trope. I can't click 'skip' fast enough any time he appears.
I just want that pointless Chad-meme, overly-long gag trope, character to disappear - or at the very least just keep his damn clothes on for once!
Hard for me to imagine feeling so strongly about a character who's just boring tbh. Boring only makes me indifferent. ┐(*˘_˘)┌
Don't have much of an opinion on her
She is just kinda there.
I feel its to early for her to get a title like that. Especially with so many ppl hating the scions already
She transformed from a generic DeviantArt OC to a carbon copy of literally every other scion in the span of 2 cutscenes so I guess the question is: what character even is there to be unlikeable?
Lyse had more personality in SB than Zero currently has and Lyse had 0 Character Development in SB.
Mide (from Alex raid): first time?
If I get a dollar every time Mide touch her scar, I probably have enough money for a month sub or two by the end.
About Zero ... I think the verdict is still out for me, at least till the end of the 7.0 MSQ. Whether people like Alphinaud or not, the 2.0 Alphin and the post 3.0 Alphin are almost 2 completely person, with the latter reforged by his journey through the Dragonsong war. Also, the Crystal Exalt in 6.0 is almost nothing like G'hara from 2.0 with that 100 years experience and leadership packed into him. I expect a similar grow from Zero as we journey through the third. Knowing the writing style of FF14, there gonna be a lot of trauma, short term hope then crushed with disillusion waiting for her there, and probably will reshape her character.
I'm not saying she gonna turn out to be someone everyone gonna love, but I do think people are being critically harsh on her criticism at the moment. Although I do understand why though, the narrative does get too preachy for me sometime. Like ... we get the point, no need to recite "love&friendship conquer all" 1000 times by 100 different NPC. But then that's just to typical in Japanese media that I'm just ... kinda jaded to it.
My current feeling toward Zero right now is "she's nothing special". Not bad, but not good either, and hoping for more. :)
I don't have enough info about Zero to either hate or like her at this point. I get the impression there are more things we need to learn about her before passing judgment. I always assumed the hat thing was supposed to be an easter egg referring to some old FF game considering how out of place it is for someone who's even more stoic in cutscenes than the WoL used to be.
Alisaie and Alphinaud are acting like teenagers. Can't hate them for that, just a shame SE will never let them grow out of it.
Who do I hate? Kan-E-Senna and her siblings. That's a trio leading a nation but keeping that nation enslaved to the whims of some elemental demons instead of growing a backbone to end the cycle.
Eh.. Maybe she will get better later on IDK she's just there right now, almost feel like they didn't even need to voice act her lines.
Also I like Zenos though not a fan of some of the choices they made for him I did enjoy most of the moments he was around
Uh ... and how would they do that? They're essentially living inside the elemental, even if they rebel and win ... then what? Seeing the elemental is the forest itself ... this like "let strike to be free in our house, even if the only way to do it is burn it down and becoming homeless!"
Also the reason why the "trio" can lead Granadia is because they're Padjal, whose power came from the elemental.
Not to mention, Granada kinda own a dept of gratitude as well. They are the only nation state that manage to get out of the last calamity relatively unscathed while Ulduar and Maelstrom got pummel and received mass casualty, only because the Elemental put up a massive shield to protect the forest to the point of exhaustion. Remember it was human that **** up the forest during the 6th calamity (the war of the magi) which is what promt the elemetal took custodianship of the Twelve-wood, and Granadia was allowed back to it under the compact that they will respect the forest will. Should refugee should rebel and take over the host nation just because they're not happy with the law of their benefactor? Comparing to real world, I think they treat their charge better than most nations in existence .
I think, at most the elemental is like a government if it's made up by a hardcore Green party when it places environmental as #1 focus, who perhaps also a bit skittish (but can you blame them? Their forest was nuked one during the 6th calamity, and they essentially almost have to give up their life to prevent it from being destroyed again in the 7th).
I just wish they would include Hien back into the story....so dreamy...
Obvious troll thread aside, Zero is awesome. She's my favorite character for the same reasons a lot of people seem to dislike her. I very much enjoy her aloof demeanor and straight to the point attitude. It's a nice contrast to the rest of the cast and I hope they don't water her down into yet another friendship is magic character like most of the others.
I have the same feelings regarding both him and Yda. I disliked how the writers kept treating Yda and Papalymo like they were one unit. They were just two "joke" characters who stood around and did nothing while you did all the busywork.
They could have been so much more. But, the writers either didn't see it or didn't want to do the work required to properly develop either of them. So, Papalymo's sacrifice had all the impact of watching a mob die instead of a beloved friend.
I still think the whole Lyse thing was an afterthought just tacked on the end. All it did introduce yet another character whom the writers refused to flesh out and the reaction of the Scions to the whole thing was nonsensical.
Lyse had more character development in the Stormblood movie than she had in game.
Maybe Zero will be more interesting.
shes meant to be a little one dimensional at first. i hope they have something interesting in store for her. i love her reaper bloodborne style but i think the reaper class in general is really corny.
I'm hoping that's the case. I'd love to see Zero and Fordola in a story line together. I wonder how the two would interact?
*gasp*
Don't you know that you never should say the name of any grain near someone armed with a scythe???
