Regarding Quest Progression Status in 2.0

Hey everyone!

As we have mentioned previously in the past, quests that are not completed by the time 2.0 is implemented may have their progress rolled back. In regards to this, we will be making an exception for the quest “A Relic Reborn” so that players can maintain the pace that they are most comfortable with.

Thank you for not wasting what's sure to be 100s of trillions of gil and entire years worth of hours spent by the players. ^^

I lurk these forums pretty much every day and keep an eye on Lodestone too, and this is the first I've heard of this!

I didn't know we could do anything filled with dreadful random luck at every turn anywhere near something that could even remotely be considered a pace, much less a comfortable one. Thanks for educating me.

Confirmation for anyone that was questioning whether or not relics would obtainable after the launch of 2.0. I personally never doubted it, but there it is.

what about guild quest we haven't triggered yet, especially DoH & DoL quest? ;D

I wanna experience it @ least before 2.0 hits.

It will just rollback your current quests to certain points, not eliminate them all. IE: You started a quest, saw a cutscene and is supposed to talk with a NPC, then 2.0 hits and you haven't finished that quest. When you log again in 2.0, you will still have that quest , but will need to see the cutscene again. However, this won't happen with "A Relic Reborn", it will keep the exact point you were after the transtion.

Nothing will happen with any quest you have finished or need to start, with the exception of the quests that are actually being removed from the game (the 7th umbral era quests)

Only time I remember this being mentioned was by Yoshi in one of the interviews he did directly after the announcement of 2.0.

Ok, I'd like some clarification on this post because my shell has been in an ongoing debate about the "A Relic Reborn" quest at 2.0 and others are reading it differently from how some of us are interpreting your post.

The way I've been reading your post is.

Would I happen to be correct considering that content is being removed. I also recall reading something about it in one of the many E3 Interviews, however I cannot find it for the life of me so your help in settling this would be greatly appreciated.

Sword, remember when they changed the items on guild quests and people had to abandon the quest and start over if the quest required a removed item?

The Relic Reborn quest won't be the same for those who start after 2.0. However, they're making it so that even if they remove certain content, our quest that we started before 2.0 will not change to the point where we have to abandon it and start over.

However, if you abandon the quest and start over after 2.0, your quest won't be the same. Same as when after you complete the 1.0 quest and start it again after 2.0.

See that's how I understood it too, some in my shell have been reading the Dev's post that the quest will remain the same regardless, but I've been under the strict impression that won't be true because so much content is being removed at 2.0 including Primal Instances.

However I don't think I could convince my compatriots otherwise without official proof from the Dev's or if I can find the interview where Yoshi mentioned that the quest would change.

Tell them to read the dev post over and over until they get it... and then direct them to the removed content chart. :P

Aye did that already, they're prolly going to be technical and say "That's just achievements they didn't say anything about removing primal instances or dungeons quit being paranoid".
