Could not connect to Steam, again

I have the usual "Could not connect to Steam" issue that blocks the launcher.

I assume it will be fixed in a few minutes as always, but in the meantime I'm complaining here.

Please let us convert to non-steam accounts ...

Don't hate only Steam.
Also hate SE for implementing the account link without any workaround in case Steam has issues.
Linking our Steam account didn't add anything for us players.

Same here :/ if only we could change and play the normal version ...

Yes once again the identical login problems via Steam...

I just don't get it, every time players complain and ask that we can disconnect our accounts from Steam. Why doesn't anyone at Square Enix care about this?

I am also having this issue, Hope that it gets fixed soon I had plans to play tonight

Oh I think they care, but I also think that they want to see a lot of FFXIV players in the Steam charts, for PR and "aura" purposes… and to achieve this, they need us to be bound there.

Same here. Impossible to log in right now.

And same issue here. It started just this evening as I was able to play this afternoon it and the last few weeks without a problem (well not without a problem, since I had the blank screen error and had to close steams after login but before game start as a workaround).

There really a few issues with this game and steam (was able to pay via credit card 6 months ago, but after rejoining the game, I had to switch to payment via Steam, although the credit card option was still shown in my mogry station).
The payment issue and the black screen issues were solveable but this now is gamebraking (and actually is reducing my paid gametime -.-)

I hope this gets fixed soon.
