They're on the roll.
remember "the scary lady" runs the mogstation store so she probably likes structure.
Most Mogstation items are made by Shanda Games for the Chinese version, and then simply ported over to the rest of us.
It's not like SE are wasting resources on this, but they are paying for them, so we do too.
Literally all of the Mogstation items that come out in China several months before they come out in the worldwide version of the game?
All of the mounts and glam sets that very clearly don't fit in with the rest of the stuff we get?
The Far Northern Attire, Street Attire, Eastern Lord/Lady Attire, Collegiate Attire, Bergsteiger/Dirndl Attire, Peacock Attire, Eastern Journey, Eastern Maiden, Eastern Officer, Mun'gaek, Socialite, Schoolboy, Schoolgirl, Faerie Tale and Nezha Lord/Lady Attire.
Mechanical Lotus, Peacock, Magicked Carpet, Nezha Chariot.
Maybe Ceruleum Balloons? Not sure on that one.
I'm kind of bummed they didn't put the Red Mage weapon up for sale.
Shows what the focus is on at least, please dont improve the support, waiting weeks for a support response that most of the time is literally close to automated feels very good
Yeah because what I needed is another short hairstyle that looks almost identical to the other short hairstyle
Explain. What's the scary lady?
People keep buying, so they keep selling. Wish more people would put their foot down and just say no, but instead the rest of us have to deal with exorbitant prices because a bunch of people in this game will pay any price for anything SE puts out.
here is the sight if you want to take a look

What for? Is this site suppose to tell me they're the one making the Mogstation stuff and not Sqex?
I can also vouch that there is no such thing as "scary lady" took control the Mogstation from Yoshi-p lmao.
Everything went through Yoshi-p, enough coping and denying.
He was just making a joke during the interview.
No, he has talked about her more than once. And that the Mogstation team is a separate one from the dev team. I do however want to say those who decide stuff for the Mogstation for NA/EU/JP are different from the ones that make things for the Korean and Chinese versions of the game as not every "unique" thing comes from their store.
It's this lady that acts like Rowena in real life. She's the one who runs Mogstation, and while the devs faff around, she very much wants stuff on the MogStation and is opinionated as to which items go where. And Yoshida feels like he can't say no to her. Allegedly.
Do you have a source for this?
These items come out as Chinese/Korean exclusives, and for years, they were 100% exclusive, and only started being added to our Mogstation by popular demand.
Even if they're still made in-house for some reason, that would suggest they have a contract with Shanda Games to produce exclusive content for them. Which would mean these items still aren't taking away from resources elsewhere, because CBU3 are contractually obliged to produce them anyway.
This is wrong, they're all the same team, I can say that with 99% certainty. Korean and Chinese patch is 4 months behind Global, timed exclusive store mount is one of Sqex way to appease them.
I'll put one more question here then I'm done, and feel free to cope/deny all you want if that help you.
Do you work directly with Sqex to know how they operate?
Theyre contracted to put out mogstation items regularly in China, SE has to go through another company... As much folks hate it, monetization its very very very much the norm in China and Asia in general, one if the reasons why mobile games destory the gaming maket there...
I don't but I watch every LL and any video of interviews where any time Yoshida gets asked about the Mogstation he probably tells us way more than he should. He's told us the other two versions of the game when it comes to their Mogstation is different from the one we have. That yes there is a scarry lady that runs ours and that she runs a separate team than the devs. I mean heck Yoshida has even brought on the guy in charge of their budget during Live Letters. Yoshida has probably given the player base way more information about the stuff that happens behind the scenes than he probably should and he knows it. He's even said so during various live letters and the 14hr broadcasts.
I think people misinterpret a lot of stuff during the Panel due to it's in Japanese. I.e. the scary lady that runs Mogstation, obviously someone has to run the Mogstation. That person also obviously manage/control the Mogstation, but she's not "above" Yoshi-P, nobody is above Yoshi-P, his title is Director and Producer lmao.
If this was the case, then why are there still items released on the Korean online store years ago that never came over? Or the fact that most of the items released on China/Korea stores has a complete disregard for meshing properly with items released for the global servers?
Apparently not enough effort considering most of the items they are releasing are still not compatible headgear wise for hrothgar and viera
Like that one dress everyone is still clamoring for yet we haven't gotten it since it was released for the Korean Store. You know the one that when you sit down in it the skirt bends up at a 90 degree angle. Which if Dionysis was correct about this we'd already had it for at least six years now. There's a few other things we still don't have but that dress just stays in people's minds.
Go ahead and ask it then.
Most people are already satisfied with the idea that many Mogstation items are most likely produced by a third-party due to the fact they’re released on the China/Korea stores first, are usually themed after Korean and Chinese traditional clothing, and obviously have a completely different QA process than everything else in the Mogstation.
The items that are released on global Mogstation first have different textures and look and feel like they were produced by different modelers than the China/Korea first clothing. The global-first items also don’t clip as much with existing base-game gear or clip in general while the reason why we don’t have 2 Korean outfits is probably because of the horrendous clipping one of them has that would never have passed SE QA.
I used to bring this up a lot, especially during content droughts where we'd have nothing to do in game and then out of nowhere they'd try to sell us some nearly 30 dollar outfit. I'd say "this could have been an in game event to tide people over between updates" and in return I'd hear anything from "bE gRaTefUL" to "u dOnT hAve tO bUy iT" to "r u pOoR???" "at LeAst We'Re nOt wOw!"
Honestly when the game's dead as hell content wise, SQEX should be grateful people stay subbed at all and give those people in game events to do. And I'm not talking about Square's definition of an "Event" where it's like a 10 minute text adventure ending in an emote they'll sell for 3 dollars in a year. I'm talking about things designed to get people online and playing the game with each other. The moogle tomestone events are a good start, but it seems like that's their only event in this style and then they use them ultra sparingly like they're afraid of giving people a good thing.
The "scary lady" meme is hilarious btw. I'm surprised to learn that the person overseeing quality control (allegedly) in the cash shop is a woman at all and not some 55 year old Japanese salaryman, because half the outfits we get look like they're what some out of touch old man thinks is fashionable. Meanwhile, the actual in game items aren't much better. Look at the Euphrosyne glams. I'm sure I'll get someone replying to this post now who loves that stuff, but there is -nobody- I know in game who is farming that place for glamour, and I literally organize runs multiple times a week. After tuesday it's like pulling teeth to get people to join at all. And the new dungeon is just recycled shit from the heavensward alliance raids which I'm sure someone will argue makes sense because "it's da void expansion!" but come on man. Four months. Four months for this. Nah man.
Honestly seeing the cash shop updated monthly while we can't even get them to recycle a moogle tomestone event at the same rate so people stay active, is disheartening as hell. Just solidifies my opinion that XIV is a cash cow used to fund shitty AAA SQEX games that'll either flop or be Playstation exclusives for so long that most of us won't even be able to play it on release. Hey, that'd be cool, wouldn't it? If XIV subscribers got discounts on SQEX games? We're basically funding them, after all.
I know it's personal taste but the stuff on the WoW cash shop is pretty trash. The best thing they have is that new phoenix themed outfit but it only comes in one color and my character's butt clips through it lol. The in-game armor/cosmetics are waaaaay better IMO.
This is closer to accurate.
The KR/CN publishers monetize their version of the game primarily through the cash shop and ask SE to create additional items for them to sell. SE then creates the items under their contract.
There are a lot of people in SE above Yoshi-P. In this case, it's more accurate to say she does not report to Yoshi-P nor does he report to her. They have their separate duties.
She has control over Mogstation as a retail platform. YoshiP can request certain things are or are not done but ultimately the decision is hers.
Because at that time, they were contracted as KR exclusives, sold as KR exclusives, and so have to remain KR exclusives.
Player outcry from JP/NA/EU about not having access to those items seems to have led to the contract for later items to be changed so that such items are released in KR first then can be released to other markets 6 months later. KR players get exclusive use for a short period of time then stop caring as a new exclusive gets released.
Not really any different from how FFXVI will be a PS5 exclusive for several months before the PC edition gets released. Sony gets to brag that they've got the game on their platform before others get to play.
Yeah I don’t like the whole thing about costumes being made for China first. You have customers from all over the world SE.
Im also not happy about all the exclusives they get.
Is this what they meant by polish when the devs cut dungeons down to 1 per patch? I didn't forget Devs, I still remember that fun line you fed to us.
im tired of these one pc glams :| shits lazy
It may be lazy but if a small indie company can get a ton of people to pay 22 dollars a piece for it then lazy or not, said company would be dumb not to go after that free cash. It's the old sayin', don't hate the game, hate the playerbase. I think that's how it went at least, lmao.
